We have eaten at Devivo brothers so many times over the years and I think I might have reviewed it before but tonight the shrimp pasta was absolutely delicious! So creamy and seasoned so well. If you didn't know it's BYOB so I grabbed a bottle of wine when my husband suggested we eat there Friday night and we sat in the patio and enjoyed a nice evening with local artists singing inside (we could hear it outside with speakers too). My husband got the hamburger and he said it was great too. Our usual is the steak Diane or maybe meatloaf. So glad I tried something different. This morning I ate the coffee cake I bought last night. The only negative I would say is that I wish they would serve a piece of toasted bread of some kind with the pasta so I could have sopped up the pasta sauce out of the bowl!!! Have been to DeVivo's before, but that was many, many months ago... In the past week I went for dinner on a Wednesday and breakfast on Sunday. Dinner was excellent, had tortellini with spicy sausage and added shrimp, and a waffle with eggs for breakfast. The tortellini was the perfect sized portion and the shrimp were large and fresh. Best of all, the tails were removed! The waffle was really big and almost cake-like, it was good but no way I could eat more than half of it. Scrambled eggs were good, large portion for only 2 eggs! Location was clean, as usual, and the staff was very personable, checked on us a couple times during our meals. Will definitely be back soon to try other offerings, including the wide selection of cakes and desserts. read more

We had a great experience! The staff was super welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy. I had the Belgian waffle, it was so fluffy and the syrup was soooo good. Ordered this place for the first time this morning after hearing only good things. The food is fine and maybe it's better if we eat there vs to go. Super easy online ordering process and we pulled up to the restaurant and our order was brought out to us in less than 30 seconds. We ordered biscuits and gravy & French toast. How do you mess this up!? We get home about 10 min later and I start unboxing everything. We have 1 stale biscuit and the French toast at this point is soggy and NO syrup. 10.50 for 1 stale biscuit and $9 BYOS for my French toast. We love to take out-of-town guests here. Live music is always a crowd-pleaser. We were worried about the expansion because it lost that down-home vibe, but the food is still great and we loved the pizza in the new pizza oven! My friend and I came here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised they had live entertainment. The singer sang, played the guitar and harmonica which added to the serene environment. I had the Nashville hot chicken with a side of sweet potato fries, made an Arnold Palmer and for dessert banana pudding. The prices are affordable and the portions are plentiful. The Nashville hot chicken was partly seasoned with parts of the chicken lacking flavor in other areas. The sweet potato fries were delicious, especially with ranch. The banana pudding was delicious, one of the best I've had, so creamy, not overly sweet and thick. My friend enjoyed her meal as well and we look forward to returning. Went to order a lunch asking if the Herb Roasted Salmon was throughly cooked and was assured. When the food arrived the plate was watery from the steamed broccoli. Mashed potatoes mingled with water. Not really that bad; however, the salmon not fully cooked. I flagged a server, she said it was cooked. I disagreed. She offered to take it back to recook further. I am sorry. You don't cook it right the first time ..... I cannot expect it to be any better this time taking it from me. I go to get a box to take the salmon home to further cook it. They offer me a pizza box to put it in. ????? The manager stops me to ask questions about the service Just long enough to hold me from returning to my table whereas the busboy dumps my uneaten food. $36 with a 20% tip for soggy mashed potatoes and wet broccoli - no entree. Two sips from a $4 fountain drink. Yes I get irritated raising my voice seeing food I am trying to take home dumped in the garbage - no cursing just loud enough stopping everyone else from eating. The manager follows pushing me out the door with the Leave, Leave, Leave, Leave stepping into me routine. No I am not going to touch him and get arrested for assault. Horrible experience getting more distasteful by the second. No refund offered by DeVivo just the bums rush out the door. My take away from this experience - Absolutely no tips until I see service. Show me respectful service, you will get compensation. Looking back on this, the manager had previous experience at this removal maneuver. Why could that be? read more

This is definitely the place to go for a family friendly, Friday night outing! We went a few weeks ago on a Friday evening with our kids and they LOVED the live music. It kept them entertained while we waited for our food and the two gentlemen playing were really talented. Now on to the food - it was so delicious and the menu had a nice offering of classic comfort foods. The Roasted Herbed Salmon was great and it was such a HUGE portion! I only ate half and saved the rest for the next day. The Chicken Parm Sandwich was a nice comfort food entree...warm and filling! I could go on for days about their dessert offerings. No idea how this place has such a high rating. We ordered food to go on a Saturday night. I'm giving two stars (generous) because the staff was friendly, the food was ready on time and the to go containers were not styrofoam. We ordered Balsamic Chicken and Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The chicken was dry for both dishes. The balsamic chicken dish - quinoa was overcooked and under seasoned. This was mushy quinoa and dry chicken. No balsamic flavor anywhere on this dish. The Alfredo sauce tasted like béchamel with no cheese. Super bland. Maybe they're cutting costs by leaving out ingredients like balsamic and cheese? I don't know. We ended up feeding both meals to our animals. read more

We asked Fort Worth Foodies to recommend a "D" restaurant for our Eat the Alphabet date night. DeVivo Bros. was recommended multiple times. We were sipping wine (BYOB) and perusing the menu, Melissa DeVivo stopped by our table. Nice when the owner makes recommendations. Y'all this is some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Seriously fresh made. And the flavors!! All the way home, we both couldn't stop talking about the happy taste in our mouths. I didn't even want to brush my teeth and ruin the lingering taste. This was my second visit to DeVivo. Both times, I ordered cakes because I saw the large variety on Yelp. The place was packed, and as I waited for my cake, I looked around at everyone's plates. I was so tempted--every dish looked amazing! Both times, I ordered two slices of cake at $6.00 each. The portion size was generous, so I didn't mind the price. However, after my second experience, I remembered that the Italian creme cake was just okay. The cake had a bit of a spoiled smell, so I threw it away. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. While the cakes looked delicious, they were bland; the pecans were soggy and chewy, and there was no butter flavor at all. Then I tried the German Chocolate cake. It's a bit different from the traditional recipe, but wow! It was delicious! You definitely redeemed yourself with this one. DeVivo, I'd recommend using less oil and more butter in your cakes and doing something to enhance the overall flavor. One other issue: While the waiter was getting another dessert, some of it got on his hand, and he quickly licked it off. I was discouraged after that and made sure he didn't touch my cake. Please teach your staff proper hygiene--it's essential that they avoid wiping their noses or licking their hands when serving food. Also, it's critical that hands are washed after cleaning tables and plating desserts. I gave you four stars because the atmosphere was nice- there was live entertainment! I wanted to love this place. I love pasta and so I went in and grabbed some fettuccine Alfredo to do as I started a long car ride. The potential of this dish having been good was there however I just can't stretch my disappointment. Homemade noodles was what was going to impress me. They very much, probably were however they were more than Al dente. Honestly pretty chewy. The co rained to go was large but the pasta was barely a single layer on the bottom for $12. No die of bread, extra Parmesan or anything added or given. Felt pretty skimp. The Alfredo itself was 'okay' at best. Exchanged Meatball sandwich for Chicken salad.... UGH. Extremely salty. Chicken pesto sandwich had zero flavor and mushy bread. Chicken parm sandwich soaked in marinara. 1/2 grilled cheese sandwich with Tomato Bisque-- soup was delightful. Sandwich was 1 slice of cheese and an inch and a half diameter tomato slice. I'm glad I didn't get the whole sandwich for $13. I wanted this place to be so much better. Whoever was pretending to be the manager at 2pm, absolutely didn't care that the food was extremely salty. I'm someone who mostly eats at home, I rarely eat out. In fact, I only eat out when meeting a friend. Enter devivo bros. Met friends here and was blown away. I am Italian and hail from Chicago. There are not a lot of Italians here but from the moment I walked in the sounds and people reminded me of my family back home. It just instantly has that family feel. The inside is very simple, and they have a huge display of homemade cakes that just blew me over. Cake is my love language and they do it well!!!! The girls at the front said No, because it's first come first serve. There was 8-10 people ahead of us, and there were still plenty of tables available. Our first time here. When you walk in, you're supposed to get in line, order and then take a seat. Can't sit prior to ordering. You'll be asked to get up by staff. I found this to be off putting because how can you be sure there will be a table for you to eat at once you've waited in a long line and you've ordered? Luckily they had a few tables open, the pasta bolognese was good but the meatball sub was inedible according to my daughter. It was huge. Like comically, can't fit this in your mouth, big. Counter service, but they have employees checking on your table to make sure you have what you need and to clear plates etc. The service was really good. Our food overall was good, although we all agreed each of our meals could have been hotter (temp). I didn't much care for the basil lemonade - too much for me. As a man-child who is a picky eater this is easily one of the best restaurants that I have been to. There are so many options on the menu and every single one is amazing so you can never get bored of a single item. The customer service and wait times are really great. One time the manager came out to apologize for an item taking a while and just put it on the house. No chain restaurants I know do that! This was our stop to visit friends and we absolutely loved this place. The baked goods alone would be worth the drive! They have outdoor seating. It's a quaint "family" feel. They serve comfort Italian food. They also have a gluten free menu that is unbeatable. Just about anything can be made GF. I had a half of a Chicken Pesto sandwich with a Smoked salmon salad. The sandwich was very good. Tender chicken breast in a buttery roll with pesto and some pine nuts. I ate the salad because I needed to but it was still good. Came with a vinaigrette. My friends ate Mac n cheese with different meats. I had a taste of the Chipotle Mac n cheese- really good. It was made with penne pasta, I believe. Very saucy and not what you'd expect as far as it getting clumpy after some time. It's more like a pasta and cream dish. The portions were perfect and they have lunch portions up until 4pm.
