It felt like it took ages to place my order while we waited in line, but only because the smells from the kitchen were so amazing. The service was as efficient as they could be, super friendly, took their time to get it right. The food was on point. Nothing to criticize here. We ordered the Mate's Blackened, Mahi Mahi sandwich blackened, chicken tenders, grilled chicken sandwich, crab cakes (sooo yummy), and hush puppies. You place your order to the cashier and then wait for the food to be brought out to the table. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating on the water. We were impressed with the fast service. Everything we ordered during the week was made with fresh and quality ingredients. The seafood gumbo and hot crab dip appetizers were delicious. This place gets 2 stars, both are absolutely for the bar. We ordered grilled gulf shrimp, hot crab dip, grilled mahi mahi, and triple tail blackened. The only edible thing was the triple tail and it wasn't anything special. The shrimp was actually so horrible you can't eat it. The mahi I spit out, and the crab dip was okay but didn't have much flavor. The fries and potatoes were delicious. Our total was $95 and we will have to find a second expensive dinner for the night. The bar tender was friendly and the cocktails were AMAZING! I absolutely will never eat here again, unfortunate because the view is amazing and the drinks were good but it just definitely isn't worth it. read more

Ate dinner here while on vacation. I had blackened Mahi, wife had a different blackened fish, and we got a grilled cheese for our kid. The fish had no flavor at all. There was clearly seasoning on it but it was very bland. Green beans had no seasoning to them either. I got key lime pie for dessert as I had at every restaurant we went to. Nothing special about it. Typical pre-made frozen pie. We spent $80 and didn't eat half of our food. Do not recommend. read more

We have hit this spot each year since 2020. We love the atmosphere and restaurant on the beach look. It's tucked into the bay side and has awesome views, best around sunset. Food is great, I personally like to eat off of the fresh catch menu and occasionally order the bacon wrapped crab stuffed shrimp. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. I had firecracker shrimp which was perfect. Crunchy, with the right amount of heat. My wife had the shrimp quesadilla. OMFG. Loved it. Came here for Lunch on my FL trip (part 1). We were seated right as we walked in. Since it is the height of tourist season, there was a good bit of people around, but since it was an outdoor ish restaurant (with fans but an extremely good view of the ocean) it didn't seem like it was very loud or overwhelming. I got the fried popcorn shrimp and at first, they were a little plain by themselves, but with the sauce it was amazing. The sauce, I was also hesitant at first with trying it because by the looks of it, it seemed like it would be spicy with the little bits, but it was very good as well. The fries now were INCREDIBLE. I couldn't stop eating them! Perfect crunchy and soft without it being overly greasy. The hushpuppy now, I have never had one before, but I wasn't a huge fan of it. For me, when it comes to fried food, if it is really good, I shouldn't need to dip it in any type of sauce, but these felt plain without the tartar sauce. read more

We have always enjoyed coming here when on vacation. Waitstaff is nice, place is rustic but clean. I usually get the fried shrimp, and regret not ordering it this time. Someone at Dewey's has found deli slicer for the fish filets. My triple tail blackened fish was maybe 1/4 inch thick. Looked like a McDonald's cheeseburger. Fries were good, hush puppies too. We stopped in for late lunch - happy hour today for our first visit. Parking was easy and no line. As you walk in you get in line to order at the counter, pay and they deliver your meal once you're seated. They have indoor and outdoor seating by the water with a nice view of the bridge. Drinks are self serve and they have a separate bar. Happy hour is drink specials only with $1.00 off beer and $5.00 margaritas. I ordered the Captains fried basket for $25. I was disappointed in the meal. The quantity was smaller than others with it consisting of a lot of fries. 2 hush puppies, 3-4 small fish pieces (think mozzarella stick size), 2 shrimp, and 5-6 small oyster bites. I found the value lacking. The sweat tea was good. They have several draft options. Staff was friendly. It wasn't our favorite meal of the trip. read more

Their shrimp is the best in Navarre. It's a nice, family friendly atmosphere with sound views. They have a toy box for kids to play with while you wait for your food, which was nice for our toddler. It's always fast, when there is a wait. We always have to stop here at least once while in Navarre. read more

Dewey's was a typical tourist restaurant, you order your food at the counter and take your order number to your table. In the event that there's a LOT of people, you aren't waiting to find a seat, but waiting in line just to order. The wait isn't terrible, the line moves fairly quickly, staff even coming outside to check on customers and take drink orders with how hot it can get outside. The food was bland, there's not really too much else to say. You can't avoid spending at least 40-50$ at minimum for two people, and you will be trying to find ways to season the food. We ordered the popcorn shrimp, it was fried well but the batter had no seasoning. We also ordered the Shrimp "peel and eat" and we were told it is specifically 2/3 a pound of shrimp, and it shows. They offer a seasoning level for the shrimp, Hot, medium, and mild. We got hot, and it's just the same steamed shrimp just extra seasoning on-top that wasn't spicy. The rest of our group ordered sandwiches, tenders, fried fish, and they also agreed the food was bland. read more

So everyone said you have to try Dewey's for fried fish. So while we were in Navarre Beach, I decided to make a stop strategically before 5 PM when it was less crowded to give this place a whirl. My son got the kid's chicken fingers and he seemed to like them. They came with two hush puppies and some fries. It seems like they only give you either three small ones or two sort of big ones on that kid's chicken finger platter. So I ended up having to buy an extra one because of course he wanted more. I ordered, the fish and shrimp basket and chose snapper as the fish. I found the snapper to be quite delicious and fresh. It was fried perfectly. The shrimp were very fresh, but not so crispy. The batter sort of fell off of them. The fries were just regular fries, but they were fried pretty well. The hush puppies I did not like so much because they were a little bit dry and dense. They had a little bit of jalapeño in them, but weren't very tasty. When you fry food, I feel like you need to use semi fresh oil. What I mean by that is if you use very fresh oil, your fish has to be extra seasoned, to have flavor. If you use old oil, then you can taste it in the fish because it just tastes bad like oil that's old and greasy. Now if you use semi fresh oil you get some of the flavorings from previous frying's and it make sure Fish and your seafood taste better. So this to me tasted fresh but tasted like they used very new oil and so the fries didn't have much taste the hush puppies were dry and cornbready. So I can't say it was just the most delicious meal I ever had but it wasn't bad. I almost think that if I tried it on a different day that maybe it might be even better. I didn't like the gumbo at all. It had very little seafood in it, but was not a brown Roux more of a tomato we spicy roux. It had a couple of shrimp, and then this gigantic chicken finger in the middle of it that was stringy and dry. There were a lot of either okra are peppers and some rice, but it was inedible to me. It just wasn't my type, gumbo. It tasted canned And certainly not worth the calories. Like many others have said you line up and order your food they give you a number and you put it on the table in the dining room. Then one of the servers brings out your meal. They give you empty cups and you go get your drinks. The drinks were fine. The dining room was clean. I'm not sure if we were supposed to throw away our own trays of trash or if someone is supposed to pick that up. I didn't really see others putting things away so we left ours but I think maybe we could have thrown away the trash and left the tray on the little bin. So this was an OK meal. I'm not disappointed that I tried it but I think I will try a few more places for fried fish before I repeat this meal at Dewey's. read more

You walk in, order, find a spot to sit, and they bring you your food. They give you cups for your drinks and you basically serve yourself. With your food, the server will bring ketchup, cocktail sauce, and tartar sauce. It's not fancy, just a typical beach type restaurant. But apparently you wait in line to order at the counter. Then you seat yourself and eat. I got the fried grouper special sandwich with fries. The grouper was lightly deep fried and fell right apart in my hands. I put tartar sauce and it was pretty good. It was really good when I added the Louisiana hot sauce. The fries were between skinny and steak fries. They tasted really good with the tartar sauce. My sister got the blackened mahi mahi salad with Italian dressing. She liked it but was hungry afterwards. Comfortable portions. Big interior with lots of seating with good views. But no or little air conditioning with lots of fans; it was quite hot while we ate. One of our favorite places to go when we are at in Pensacola Beach (it is about a 30 min drive). Great service every time we've been and the fresh seafood is hard to beat. Most recently did the spicy shrimp steamer and it did not disappoint. They are also real good at making cocktails and mocktails. A lot of folks say get the grab dip, personally we were the most impressed, heavy without enough flavor. The line can get long so if you can plan on eating earlier then it may save you a lot of time. They are good at moving that line along though. read more
