I've been meaning to get a burger from Dick's for years, but every time I've gone by a Dick's location, the line is out the door. I had some time during the day today and finally got to a Dick's outside of lunch and dinner times. Well, the burger was inexpensive, but not that great. The taste was okay, but the whole thing was a bit soggy. The fries also tasted decent, but were also soggy. I'd go back in a pinch, but wouldn't make a special trip back to get a Dick's burger. For a great inexpensive burger, In-N-Out Burger is still where it's at. Unfortunately, there's no In-N-Out's north of Oregon. read more

Shocked, just shocked. First time was lackluster, just no taste, and below room temperature food...of course, I always withhold if i can to write bad reviews, so returned for another chance. Unfortunately, it was the same! The biggest thing is near cold burger and fries! The deluxe, the special, and most of all the fries were just really really meh and near cold. Can I stress enough how the food is not hot at all? Perhaps its "just opening" jitters. But this review is based on decades of experience at the UW, Climate Pledge spots. Heck even the new Des Moines spot was great! To be clear, service was great, lines moved at a decent pace. Place is clean. Just don't understand lack of flavor and most of all how cool the food was. Shakes were ok, root beer float better. Here's to hoping they fix this, won't be returning months, at least summer for another try because I know they can fix it. :( read more

- Fast late-night dinner- Things happened and we haven't had dinner at 11.. where to go?! Everywhere else is closed other than Dicks, so we are here. When we got here, it felt like 9pm. There are tons of people and groups of people eating in the parking lot. It took like 5 mins to get our order, which was 2 deluxe burger, a strawberry milkshake, and a regular fries (which is like a baby size). Gotta say the regular fries is a joke, don't get fries here.. I would have ordered a larger size if I know it exists.. the fries was super oily and there were probably 20 pieces lol. Everyone in Seattle loves Dick's, so when I heard that Dick's is now in Bellevue, I truly didn't care. I've always found their burgers and fries to be lackluster. But alas, a friend who loves Dick's wanted to get lunch here and because I'm a great friend, I didn't want to offer a rebuttal. We visited Dick's on a Monday at lunch time and the line was short, which is not the case from what I've observed if you come around dinner time where the line is longer. Located at Crossroads Mall, it's right across from the climbing gym in the parking lot area. Like the other locations, Dick's is takeout only where you walk up to a window to order and get your food. I ordered a deluxe, fries and a chocolate shake, and we walked to the nearby Crossroads Mall food court inside for seating. Burger was A-OK. The sauce was smeared all one on side instead of throughout the entire burger, so that was a bummer. The fries were as I expected, not crispy at all. Why, why, why are the fries at Dick's always soggy AF? Chocolate shake was good, but they didn't fill it to the top, so not cool, man. Not cool. Yes, I know it's cheap and is best consumed under the influence. But should quality go out the window (literally) when it's cheap? I wanna support local, but Dick's and I have never seem to be on the same page. I want a juicy, thick burger with crispy fries and a thick, chocolate milkshake that is filled to the rim. A nostalgic burger place. Walk up to outdoor counter to order. It is located toward the back of Crossroads mall. Big Red sign so easy to find. Got the deluxe plus fries ($10). It was ok. I prefer In n Out burger in California. 20 cent extra for onions and 20 cent for ketchup. No line when I went. It is only order at the outdoor counter, no drive through. Plenty of mall parking and since it is toward the back by itself, it was easy to park. Bag was greasy from the fries kind of place. read more

So my friend was like "Do you want some dicks in your mouth?" I was a little taken aback, so I asked what kind. "Juicy and meaty!" They replied. I asked how long it would take. No matter what time of the day or day of the week, there would always be a line. I decided to stop by for their 69th anniversary that brought back 19-cent burgers from 1954. The burger menu is simple, consisting of Dick's Deluxe ($4.85), Dick's Special ($2.95), Cheeseburger ($2.75), Cheeseburger Plain ($2.60), Hamburger ($2.30), and Hamburger Plain ($2.20). The plain versions are a tad cheaper as ketchup and mustard are not included. Both the Deluxe and Special have mayonnaise instead. Condiments such as onions, ketchup, and tartar are sold separately for $0.20. ----- Cheeseburger: one patty, cheese, ketchup, mustard ($2.75). Actually better than I was expecting. It was fresh with a well-cooked patty and a light bite without any greasiness. Cheese was nicely melted. The size is small but cost is equally inexpensive. ----- Orders are placed up front at the counter where there are six windows. Four were open Wednesday morning, making the lines go rather quickly. The speed of the line depends on the people in front of you as orders are fulfilled during payment time instead of an order number system. I'm sorry, I know Dick's is a Seattle area novelty, but the food is really just subpar. Dry tasteless burgers, soggy oily fries - I just don't get why there's such a big following out here. It was so bad that I didn't bother taking any pictures. Maybe this location isn't as good as the original, but really had me questioning why I didn't just go to McDonald's. The milkshake was decent, but everything else including the service was forgettable. Not sure why there has ever been a comparison between Dick's and In-N-Out... they're not in the same league. Whenever I come by Seattle I always have to come by and try Dick's burgers as its their staple, while in CA we have our burger joint The place is huge and looks very clean and the workers are quick with service. I got the deluxe with french fries. I still think its strange to charge for ketchup and you bet I didn't pay extra for ketchup. The burger itself is OK, better than other common fast-food spots. The fries were the most soggiest fries I've had. Overall its OK and a bit pricey for what you get, if I lived in the area I wouldn't come back, but since I don't i don't mind trying it out each time and hopefully it will eventually change my mind. read more

Came in to check out the hype. Came away disappointed. Location was clean and well presented, and the service was fast and accurate. My Deluxe Burger was OK; nothing special. Fries were the big disappointment. Couldn't believe fries could be both overcooked, and limp and soggy; but there they were. Completely unappetizing and I was unable to eat even half of them. Dick's will be a good place to grab a quick burger when I'm hungry and there's nothing else nearby, but I don't consider Dick's a destination restaurant. Visited this Dick's Drive-In location in Crossroads, and after waiting in one of the lines, I arrived at the window and ordered my burger and fries. I paid, then was told to wait for my food. I watched as he then proceeded to take several orders from people who were in line behind me. Every time he proceeded to pack an order and head back to the window, I thought it was mine, and tried to pick it up, but apparently it was for the person who had just ordered and I was told to keep waiting. I wondered what was happening in confusion, as apparently hamburgers and fries were immediately available for everyone except for me. After 4 more orders were served at that window, I finally got my food, but I couldn't help but wonder why I had to wait 4 times longer than any other customer. I do love my McDonald's, but whenever I'm in Seattle or neighboring areas, I make sure to go to Dick's. During the Labor Day weekend, I found myself at Bellevue for the first time. I saw that there was a Dick's at Crossroads, so that's where I went for lunch. Upon my arrival, I parked the car and walked up to the window to place my order. Even though it was just one person ahead of me, they actually opened up a second window for me. I ordered the usual, 2 Dick's Deluxe with everything and a chocolate shake. I took the food back to my car to enjoy. Don't go to Dick's expecting a gourmet burger that'll blow your socks off. I feel a lot safer coming to Dick's here than any of their other location in Seattle, this is located in parking lot of Crossroads Mall where it's very easy to get to and well...park. I wish they would have a drive thru to avoid getting out in the rain, but that would take away from the experience of being a drive in. Menu is very simple, you have a few burger choices which really the only difference is number of patty that you want and with or without cheese, taste is the same, fries, and shakes. Now, it's not on the same tier as In N Out or Shake Shack to compare, but I still come here because it's a local chain and I know Dick's pay their employees very well for fast food and has programs to help with getting scholarships. Finally an Eastside location for this lazy to travel like me. Sometimes the lines are barely there, but when they're understaffed, you're waiting at least 15+ minutes. Having not grown up with this, the burger taste has grown on me slowly over time. I've had occasions where the fries are crisp, and other times annoyingly limp (huge pet peeve). The cheap milkshakes feel like sweet, tasteless calories to me, without making me crave more. The convenient location with ample Crossroads Mall parking and cheap prices for a meal on the go will keep me coming back at least. read more

The good: - The line moves fast and it doesn't take long to get your order right away (actually, not sure if this is a good thing). - Great value ($2 for a burger!) The bad: - The burger patties are rather dry and tasteless (if you want char-broiled/grilled patties you should look elsewhere). - The fries are soggy and appears to be over-cooked (i.e. browned). - The strawberry milkshake was nasty (artificial coloring that looked more orange than red/pink w/ zero flavors). Uh.. if you haven't been to one in seattle you're either new or live under a large boulder. Anyhow. it's in the back of the crossroads mall, between the theater and the Michael's entrance. Enter off of nE if coming from the south or off of 148th.. Don't park in the front of the mall as it's probably closed and you've had a few to drink. From 148th, head to the theater and take a right. Anyhow, it's nicer than the original Capital Hill and University locations. The clientele are either Microsoft / Amazon.com millennials, kids from the eastside high schools whose parents don't want the driving into seattle, Kent or Lynnwood or UW Alumni who now live on the Eastside. The mall is nice because it has tons of free, litter and homeless free parking. read more

Came here at 6pm on a Saturday. Minimal lines and plenty of parking. Picture if Five Guys and In-n-Out had a baby. Five Guys burger and In-n-Out fries (the bad parts of each). The reason I'd go again is because it's cheap and easy to eat. Pros: -fast -tastes good enough -inexpensive Cons: -have to pay for sides of ketchup -fries are soft and overcooked -lettuce is limp -bun is bigger than the burger -no seating or drive thru trays, so you basically walk to get your food then eat it from a bag in your car or take it home. read more

Yay for this "new" location! Eastside has one now. Burgers are as tasty as their Seattle's original location. I like yhey have a simple easy menu. Burgers are not huge and are easy to have :) Shakes are better! Quick stop. I haven't seen any big lines at any location. Like they have different cashiers. I have found easy parking infront of it. What I would like is them coming to your car to be a real drive in or old burger spot. But it isn't that difficult getting off your car unless you have a baby. Service is friendly and fast :) like you can see it's clean. read more

Three Stars. I guess we don't understand the hype? Went to Dicks for the first time in a few years at their new Bellevue location. The place looked spotless. The person who took our order was friendly and efficient. The hamburgers were good but certainly not exceptional in any way. Not bad but nothing we would go out of our way for. The order of soggy fries that we shared were below par. We just expected better. The shakes were very good. No place to eat. No inside seating or benches. Next time we are in Crossroads we will likely patronize one of the restaurants inside the mall. Maybe all of the hype caused us to expect too much? read more

Wanted to like the place. First of all they are not the friendliest people ... not even a smile. A smile and a good afternoon how can I help you goes a long way. I guess they don't emphasis warm greetings. Secondly, the girl at the counter would not let me order the Deluxe burger that has 2 meats plain and dry. She asked the manager and he said no. I was willing to pay that price without all the added stuff. She could have said I'm so sorry but we don't do substitutes since our burgers are already made for faster service. Instead she said no we can't do that... no explanation as to why I couldn't get it plain and dry. She suggested 2 plain hamburgers which made no sense since that would be 4 buns meaning more bread and more carbs. She could have done it since she had to wait for burgers to come out since none were ready. And lastly, not sure why she didn't give me the bag once I handed her the $11 cash. I had to wait for the bag while she made change. I would understand a card but I handed her more money than what I bought. While the burgers were good, the edges of the top buns were hard. Update: I've been there several times since my review. I now always order hamburgers for myself, no cheese. I do like them better without the cheese-whiz. I mean, cheese. Twice now, they've told me they were out of hamburgers made with ketchup and mustard, but did have some ready that were plain with no condiments. They asked if I wanted the plain ones or to wait for more to be made with the condiments. In both cases I ordered the plain ones. But I have to wonder, would it really be that much of a disruption of their process to splash the ketchup and mustard on the plain ones for me? That's the only difference. I hope they're saving a lot of labor dollars not being willing to do that. Their shakes are really good. It's tempting to go just for one of those. read more

Much safer location than the one in Seattle and much cleaner! This Dick's is located in the shopping center of Crossroads Mall. There is a lot of parking spaces and it is well lit. There are no seats available to eat there. It's more of an order counter and restrooms are available. The menu is small and they have cheeseburgers, fries, shakes, and ice-cream. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and Vanilla cone. The food was overall good and hit the spot for a fast food cheeseburger. I loved that the food was not greasy. I really liked my cheeseburger and would go here for a quick bite to eat instead of McDonalds. read more

You first time at Dick's might be puzzlement. The salty soggy fries made fresh in the store, the large grill covered with burgers, the cost of condiments, the lack of customization options. The ice cream. As the years progress, as you meet your friends at Dick's after the shows, or after working late, or arriving from a flight, you realize each order arrives exactly as fast as the first time, tastes exactly the same as the first time. Order and pay and pull your napkins, and your bag of Dick's is right in front of you. So reliable, such a reduction of cognitive load, it's become our region's comfort food. I am writing this review after trying deluxe burger twice at this specific location. I was super excited to see Dick's burger on east side which meant no more driving all the way to u-district or capitol hill. But to my surprise I was very disappointed. Both times I tried their deluxe, just like other reviews mentioned, it tasted blend. Their patty does not taste like patty. It just tastes like it's missing something... idk if it has to do with quality of the patty that this specific location uses... I have been to u-district, capitol hill, lynnwood, and des moines locations and their burgers all tasted like "normal delicious dick's burger". I still do not understand if this is a burger chain that uses same recipe and ingredient, how can they mess it up this bad? read more
