I entered this place after literally years of being unable to get around on my own. The food was great as was the service. What was fucked was that a Bacardi and coke cost me $10 a piece as well as a service fee on the total bill. What hogshit!!! Maybe if you restaurant people had held your ground and kept the food trucks from dominating the landscape your brick and mortar places might have some damn value. But no, you let all phases of government allow the food trucks to fuck you in the ass and all you did was raise prices beyond belief. I used to own and operate a bar and restaurant in Redmond for decades and thank god I left before the mobile kitchens became the norm. While your food costs have gone through the roof one way to keep costs at a minimum is to get a handle on your Labor. Diego's has people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Good grief. You won't see again much to your detriment. As the old adage in the restaurant Biz goes, "When someone likes your place they will tell five friends, when they get fucked over they will tell 20." Well guess what, you've priced me and at least 20 other people off your possible return customer list. I suppose your prices are through the roof at all your places in town. Great Mexican in downtown Redmond. Broad kids menu kept my 6 year old happy too. Authentic food. Green rice was awesome carne asada too. Service was quick and friendly. Tableside guac!! I would not recommend the green chicken mole. The chicken was overcooked and the mole was more like gravy. read more

Nice little place in the heart of downtown Redmond. I stopped in between the lunch and dinner rushes so it was a little slower than usual and not very lively, but I didn't expect it to be at that hour. Still had good service and a great seat right by the window to see a bit more of downtown during my visit. Menu has a lot of options and looks like it changes fairly frequently. I had the Tex Mex Egg Rolls as an appetizer and brisket for an entree. Maybe it was just the combination of the two, but the sauce with the brisket after the egg rolls was just too much for me, and the meat was a little overdone. In the end I probably would have been fine with the egg rolls as a meal - they were that good AND that filling. I'd definitely stop back in again the next time I'm in town! read more

I got enchiladas with steak & they were some of the best enchiladas I've ever had. Both the mild & spicy salsa is delicious.

The food here is just Way over priced for what it is. Second time here the salsa tastes like Pace mixed with marinara sauce the Ceasar salad is literally one of those salad in a bags. They're frozen vegetables are about what you would expect from a fire camp. Just not that impressed. read more

The Drinks at Diego's are fantastic. The food, well, some items I like, and others are a bad match for my taste. The salsa, and freshly made guacamole are great. The Quesadillas, especially the spinach, and the mushroom are also great. However they are huge, and the veggies are sauteed in quite a bit of butter. The entrees I've tried are also huge! I have also found the entrees to be heavy, and cooked with entirely too much butter. The food is fairly pricey. We dined here on New Year's Eve and spent $150 pre-tip, between dinner and margaritas for 2. I did not like my entree of steak, prawns, beans and veggies. My husband thought his Rib Eye was okay. I will be back to Diego's, but I'll stick to cocktails and appetizers. The service is great, and also kid friendly. 2016 #3 read more

LOVE! I was so happy that during this trip we found a few restaurants in Central Oregon that did not specialise in food poisoning. It was a Friday night so we had to wait about ahalf hour for a table because wow is this place packed! We were starving so we started with the creole shrimp appetizer and the guac they make at your table. Both were amazing - no joke. A few bites of that shrimp and you will want to lick the plate clean to get every ounce of the sauce they use. I had a cup of their clam chowder which was unique - but very good. I then had a rib eye steak and could barely eat anything since I was now full on appetizers and chowder. I reheated the next day for lunch though and it was still fantastic. Their portions are pretty big and really reasonably priced. You also cannot beat the variety. There is Mexican food and American and pasta...a little bit of everything really. I also ordered this blackberry drink made with blackberry puree and blackberry vodka - holy wow...get that seriously...in your mouth....you will thank me. read more

Happened across this place thanks to Yelp reviewers. Located in the cute little downtown area of Redmond on 6th street. A menu mixed with Mexican and American. Burrito and a burger. I had a combination plate with a chile relleno and ground beef tostada. This is the chile relleno that I've been looking for ever since I moved here from San Diego 8 years ago. Just how I remembered them. My partner had the carne asada and declared it the best carne asada he had ever had. Served with green rice and black refried beans. I'm a pinto refried bean kinda gal, but thought the black beans were a close second. Salsas made on site. The low heat salsa was fresh and tasty, but mix it with a little of their high octane salsa and you've got the perfect combination. So, that's what we did, mixed them for the chips and for our entrees. One tasty margarita shared between us. Had it not been lunch, I definitely would have gone ahead and had one all to myself. Looked to a local lunch favorite for worker's in the area which I think is a good indicator. The nicest of staff. Quick service. When asked why they didn't open a restaurant in Bend, the reply "too many restaurants in Bend". Our loss is Redmond's gain. Great discovery. We'll be back. read more

As visitors from Carlsbad, California, my wife, daughter and I identified Diego's Spirited Kitchen as the place to go in Redmond. We have had the opportunity to try wonderful restaurants domestically and abroad, and we were absolutely shocked to find this gem in Central Oregon. It was so good, we went back the next night to continue the experience. This is something we have done only once before in all of our travels....it was in Paris in 2004....because we like to explore and find new culinary experiences. But Diego's broke that 16 year streak. Here's why. The food and the service. While most restaurants do the same old same old, Diego's takes a recipe and creates something different and unique. On our first visit, we asked our waiter, Roberto, about his recommendations. He recommended the Pork Osso Bucco and the Famous Mexican Pork Carnitas. Because I'm a fan of Chicken Mole, he recommended that too. That's what I ordered, my wife got the Pork Osso Bucco and my daughter wanted the seafood tacos. All were gourmet heaven. So was the Creole Barbecue Shrimp appetizer. After we left, we kept thinking about Roberto's "second course" meal....the Pork Carnitas! The first course was the night you had it in the restaurant; the second course was taking the left overs...and there were plenty...and making carnitas and scrambled eggs the next morning. So, we came back the next night for the pork carnitas. They, too, were heaven. The first and second course! My wife and I split them while our daughter ordered the Tostada Shrimp Ceviché. We kept raving about how fabulous everything was. Our experience the second night was the same as the first night. Excellent. Food was excellent. Their recipes were excellent. And Roberto was excellent. And, they were COVID compliant! We now understand why Diego's comes up first on Yelp reviews. We cannot wait to go back to experience something very special. When you go to a restaurant for the first time, first impressions can speak volumes. My wife and I waited 20 min. which was not an issue. There was a table for 2 which needed to be clean for the next party to eat. The host said 'we will have it cleaned in 10 min'. I understand when a restaurant is busy at 6 pm. It seems the urgency was not there to seat a party of 2. When we were seated we saw the menu. We were surprised that Diego's upscale prices. With knowing that, The food was very good but the prices didn't warrant $18 for a naked burrito (some Verde sauce) with no sides. When your hungry I expect the money you put to fit the amount of food you receive. The 2 stars is for the quality of the food. Everything else would receive 1 star. This is disappointing because Redmond needs family restaurants that will not drain your wallet. read more

Holy smokes. This place is delicious. Some of the entrees are a little pricey, but the portions are enormous. I got a 2 combination plate, and it was huge. Their ceviche appetizer would have been enough for a meal and then some - it was so fresh and delicious. I got an enchilada and chile relleno, you can taste how fresh and homemade this food is. A very pleasant experience; no complaints here. The restaurant is clean and well-decorated, service is exceptionally friendly and fast, and prices are reasonable. The menu is also varied and includes more interesting options like burritos with a variety of seafood in them. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo, since I'd heard it's a popular dish, and it was delicious. Unfortunately I had almost filled up on the fresh, warm chips and salsa on the table! Always a go to when I'm in Redmond for work. Excellent upscale food in a variety of styles, don't be afraid to order whatever piques your fancy because I promise it will be delicious. As I said to the bartender tonight "I've never had a bad meal yet" to which he replied "it won't be tonight either". He tells the truth, because the next dish on the menu I tried was just a fire as the first time I came. Absolutely do not miss the fresh margarita, they squeeze the limes for every single one as they make it. And for food do not skip the coconut prawns app, the carnitas (if it's not world famous it should be) and any of the specialties. I've been upset the last six months because it's a thirty minute wait, but I promise it is 100%worth every second. read more

Their chips and salsa was amazing! I can eat bucketloads of it. Their food is okay. Kinda tough to compete with Mexican food in LA but they aren't too bad considering the location. I got an order of 2 halibut tacos ($15). The only problem was that one side of the taco got super soggy so it was challenging to eat it like a taco. Their beef taquitos are pretty good - stuffed with lots of meat (not like your typically thin and meat deprived fried..things...).
