This is the Dierbergs I grew up going to, and it has stayed consistent with its quality foods, cleanliness, and overall nice atmosphere. Since time has passed, other Dierbergs in the area have opened that are a bit more updated and modernized with more options. There selections here can be a bit more limited, but it definitely has what you need! Lots of parking in the lot and easy to smell with the smoker outside :) read more

Apparently some of the checkers feel inconvenienced for no reason when a customer is carrying a heavy oversized arrangement and you cut through an empty lane, particularly one mouthy bitch . Today I went to the deli counter to buy catfish dinners,as I have done for Over ten years,was told about 15 minutes,then after that another 18 minutes, and there were 5 or more customers waiting for the same,and when it was brought out after a 30 minutes, only 5 pieces,there was a commotion about who was waiting 1st,I don't understand why in the last year,on Fridays why they cook the fish in such small amounts,and not in a timely manner,this never used to be. Only two lanes (along with one for 20 items or less) were open on the Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend at the Warson Woods location with no baggers. I chose the lane with a checker that I like and use if she is there but who is older, very conscious, and conversational. Her line was backed up the furthest. A "manager" opened the lane next to hers and went to the other open lane (several lanes down) to bring a customer to his lane passing me by. A good manager would know that her was a slower lane. I watched as he then checked out SIX customers with full carts before I was checked out. 15+ minutes in line is not acceptable anytime. I can't help but feel there was subconscious ageism in his decision to pass me by AND to not support his employee. While this has been my Dierbergs Market of choice, I will not be back to this store. read more

The people working the front of this store need an attitude adjustment. No eye contact, no help, everyone looks like they hate working here. Some young mixed girl yelled at me from 10 feet away telling me it looks like I have more than 15 items in my cart, she had a completely empty line... and I had exactly 15 items. I went to the self checkout and it malfunctioned 3 times while an old lady is asleep on a chair. Seems like customer service is a thing of the past and I'm only 35! Strike two! Second disappointing experience at this store's deli. This time it involves potato salad that was disgusting. I purchased a pound of kosher potato salad from the deli case and took it home. While making the purchase, I noticed that the top seemed to be dried out, but figured it likely was OK. It wasn't. The potatoes were undercooked. Add the hard, dried edges where the salad had dried out in the case, and the result was disgusting. We threw it out. $5.49 per pound for "fresh" food that was inferior to the typical factory packed alternative. If you are going to price your products like Straub's, you owe it to your customers to at least try to achieve their quality standards. read more

Since moving to this area, I've always preferred this Dierbergs location over the one on Promenade Court (which is much closer to home) for several different reasons: 1. The atmosphere is much nicer and the people who work at this location have a more friendly/helpful attitude. 2. It is easier to get in and out of than the Promenade Court location. Also, the general area is less busy. Plus, there are at least a couple of places to grab a quick lunch or dinner at before or after grocery shopping! 3. I feel like the whole store is well-lit and better organized. I used to go to the Edwardsville location quite a bit and the way this store is setup reminds me so much of that location so it's easier for me to find things. I'm sure there are more reasons why I prefer this location but those are the top three I can think of for now. Overall, I love the yellow sticker sale that Dierbergs have. I also mentioned this when I reviewed the other location but yesterday, I saw that they included their take and bake pizzas on their yellow sticker sale! I cannot speak for the quality of the pizza yet as I still have not had them but I have heard great things about them. I also went to their butcher section and found that they have quite a selection of premium Delmonico beef. Sold! Since it was slightly warm yesterday, I decided to try out their 12oz Delmonico ribeye and for $12 and some change, it felt like a bargain! The steak was great! I've always felt like Dierbergs have better and fresher meat selections. I've gone to other grocery stores before and found some hidden not-so-fresh meat mashed in the middle (especially for ground beef) or they packaged steaks flipped to the side that isn't discolored. It makes me a bit weary when I see it after taking it home. Regardless, I know I don't always go to Dierbergs just because there are closer, more convenient places to go to but if I was not in a rush, I definitely take that extra 5 minutes to drive to this location because it has always been worth that little trip. read more

Meh. I was underwhelmed by this place. I hate when places have their deli meats already cut up - I question how long it's been like that. The lady behind the counter acted like it was some big production to cut some new stuff when I asked for some. The produce section was okay, although for their prices, I would have just went to Whole Foods! $2 for a single pepper? Really? I love shopping at Dierbergs!!! They have the best rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy when you need a quick meal. The fruits and veggies are fresh and if you're not satisfied they allow you to return your items. The employees are friendly. The prices aren't entirely through the roof and the food selection is nice. read more

I frequent this store often. I usually go through the self check out. Today I had an avocado and I hate entering produce because I never know the code. So, I went to the express line. I had a 12 pack of soda. I took the soda out of the cart and the middle aged woman of color told me to leave it in the cart. No problem. That exchange took 8 seconds. After I put it in back in the cart she started to tell me, with an attitude, there is a sign that says to leave those items in the cart. The situation was already handled. I went to the self check out and handled the "situation" myself. Once the "problem" is handled it's handled. Check your attitude and remember you're there to make my experience a good one. read more

I go to Dierbergs for two things: coleslaw and deodorant. Their coleslaw is the best, after tasting many different varieties of cole slaw. Creamy, juicy and delicious. Get there early if it's close to a major holiday. It goes fast! I don't know why, but NOWHERE carries my preferred brand and scent of deodorant but Dierbergs. I thought they had discontinued it. I looked for months at Walmart, Target, Walgreens and Schnucks. Bummer. Then found it here! Weird, right? I stock up whenever I buy cole slaw! read more

Dierbergs was my main grocery store when I had more time on my hands, before I went back to work. It's just a little farther away from my house than Schnucks, so convenience wins. I live right nearby this location and it is within easy walking distance. I used to come here almost every week to buy my groceries. But the past five times that i have shopped at this location i have found myself harassed by the dreadfully bad at their job store security. They currently have employed a African American older man in his 50s who would not stop following me around the store blatantly trying to observe me stealing. I will let you know that i have never stolen in my life and i was quite offended by his overly obvious behavior. I understand they have to keep store goods safe, but now it seems every time i walk into the store he follows me. Normally he stands near the front doors, whenever i walk past him he often waits a few seconds and then begins following me. I will stop attending this store because after the fith time this has occurred i feel incredibly offended. After all this time spent shadowing me it should be obvious to him that i am not stealing from his store. Until he is repremanded i refuse to shop here again due to the unfair and insulting behavior i have received as a black male. I used to love this store, not anymore. read more

Diebergs at Warson Woods has the BEST saladbar, quick, fresh, nice variety. I like theirs the best because it includes nuts (walnuts or pecans), dried cranberries, marinated vegetables (broccoli, tomatos, etc), artichokes, cheese variety (including crumbled blu cheese) and salad dressings like sundried tomato. If you prefer soupbar, they have that to, fresh fruit choices and deserts. Its not just your usual lettuce and ranch dressing. read more

Customer service is terrible at this location. I bought many items that included items from the sale ad of buy 10 get the 11th free and I noticed after I paid that the 11th was not free. I debated if I should waste my time but went to the customer service desk and the guy behind had not heard of this "get the 11th free" so I explained and showed him my items as listed in the ad. He called Carmin and after about 5 or 10 minutes she came over and made me show her my items and then she is looking at the ad like she never saw it before. After awhile she says just give her a dollar. It was a very unpleasant experience. I do shop at this location sometimes because it is very close to my home and in general they are not nice but this was the worse! I do prefer to go down the street to their competitor. read more
