M y slalad came out fairly quickly.. our food seemed to take longer than tables around us. Two in our party got chicken Parma. They both reported the food was not hot enough. In his defense, the assistant manager ( we only knew that because he had said it to table near us), did ask "how is everything?". My friends answered "good", mostly because they didn't want to wait for replacement. I took their lead, even though I thought the ravioli (which was supposed to be made there) was pasty and stuck to my teeth and contained almost no cheese...Overall a disappointment, and would not go back. read more

While both dishes were tasty the price of $32 for the cod and $28 for the short ribs was in my opinion WAY over priced cause the portions were miniscule at best. I recently visited DiFebo's in Bethany Beach to treat some friends before we participated in the Seagull Century Bike Tour and this visit was the best I've had for two reasons. Roomier than their Rehoboth location and just as charming. Everything tasted similar but the Bethany beach location offered a spicy Cioppino sauce, savory and has a nice kick, with handmade pasta. The Halibut special was incredibly delicious with its crispy outer layer and perfectly cooked fish. The risotto with short rib was rich, creamy, and the meat was so tender. I really enjoyed this Italian restaurant! There was lots of parking, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is homey and warm. The food is good, although the servings for some things are a little small (for example, I ordered the seafood risotto special, and the amount of food I received was about half what I would have had at Limoncello in Saint Michaels, MD). I feel like this restaurant is a bit overrated - it's a beautiful place. I started with an amazing beet salad but my entree was disappointing. I am a fan of Eggplant Parmesan and if you can't get a good eggplant parm in an Italian restaurant, where can you get it?? My husband and I have been coming to DeFebo's for 33 years now. We find it the best place in all of Bethany and adjoining areas to have dinner. We both had the chicken Parm tonight and it was as usual spectacular the owner gave us some complementary lemon cello to make the evening just perfect. Large portions for the chicken Parm. I also recommend the Tuscan steak which we've had before. Kids had- 11F- GF penne with light sauce 10M- adult portion ravioli with meatball 7F- buttered noodles I had the veal parm. I hate to leave a food review for a restaurant we've enjoyed for years but last night the food was subpar at best. The Cacio e Pepe was basically buttered noodles without a single pepper flake and to add flavor it had to be topped with chicken and my husband's calamari pasta dish was also bland. A very reliable standby. Oddly, pasta isn't my favorite here but the risotto and chicken Marsala are great. Also, don't miss the fried artichoke app, amazingly crunchy and tasty. Pleasant inside, nice bar seating, and a lovely patio even though it faces parking and street. Once a week they usually have live music played at a perfect volume. We saw a ton of good reviews and frequent their market across the street so it was great to be able to finally get to the restaurant. It did not disappoint. They were on point for everything. Service was great and the food was excellent. We had the Burrata as an app along with the Baby arugula salad. Good size for apps to share between two people. A larger party would need a couple apps, but I would say don't go crazy and fill up on apps only. I got the Chicken Parm for dinner and my wife got one of their specials with shrimp and crab served over pasta. Entrees are definitely a health portion so you will not be hungry. Desserts: I got the peanut butter cake and my wife ordered an olive oil citrus cake. We visited for the first time tonight for dinner and immediately loved the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant. We had made reservations and got seated right away. Our waiter, Sergio, was absolutely fantastic. He made each special sound phenomenal and gave lots of detail in his descriptions. Since it was our first time visiting, he made a point to describe our entree orders to us which was very helpful. This restaurant easily takes the cake for best Italian food we've ever had. I'm a regular customer and when I said I won't be in in November through February they said fine. Clearly they don't value customers, especially loyal ones. In response to the owner: Take my order and let me know it will be "x" amount of hours. Let me decide. I also drove by at 5:35 and there were 3 open spots in front. They do offer outdoor seating with heaters, but it still felt a bit crowded for me, so we opted for the quieter parking lot.
