Came here for breakfast. It was packed and busy but we were sat at a booth in a decent amount of time. Our waiter was great, funny, and very kind. The menu had everyone from breakfast to burgers. We thought about getting a milkshake but decided not to and our waiter would tell us we should. Ordering was fun, he would poke fun about what we wanted to add to our food and what we didn't want. He was great. The food came out and it was delicious! Very filling. Our waiter would check in on us always. The atmosphere was great. Great place with great comfort food. Sadly I have only been here once. Breakfast sandwiches are great ( hash browns in the sandwich seals the deal! The best thing about this spot is the staff. Very friendly and attentive ( in a natural way ). The owner checks on the tables to make sure everything is going good and you are enjoying yourself. After my son forgot his credit card there was no issues at all. The staff was very friendly and helped him get the card back with out any delays. first, everything was cold. second, i ordered a biscuits & gravy meal that came with eggs & my eggs were raw. raw like the whites were runny... everything was thrown in the to-go container so i couldn't eat any of it. when i called to tell them about my meal they asked my name and offered me 2 free eggs my next visit because 2 free eggs makes up for the $9 meal i couldn't eat any of. not coming here again. There are a couple things I love about Diggers. One is the pricing. You can't beat! You could easily have a pretty elaborate breakfast for 2 for under $20. Most meals are under $10, but not limited in the amount of food. You will definitely be full. The second thing I love is the creativity in some of their menu options. They really made an effort to make things interesting and fun. Like the funnel fries. These are literally the reason we found Diggers in the first place. Every time we go here, we plan on getting the funnel fries because my husband LOVES funnel fries. But by the time we're done with our food, we're too stuffed to get the fries, so we haven't actually tried them yet, but I'm confident we will! Along with the creativity, they are not too stingy to let you change things up, and they don't charge extra. I got one of the breakfast meals and didn't want hash browns and they let me change them to curly fries with no charge!! I couldn't believe it. The curly fries were super good too. The spicy hot links are excellent as well, if you have a chance to exchange that for something in your meal, I recommend it (although this is one thing they charge extra for). They advertise that their pancakes are really good-- I felt they were only okay. But this doesn't phase me because there are so many options on their menu that I want to try! I love Diggers for the friendly staff, cheap prizes and hearty servings. The servers will help you order so you get the best deal based on what you want. I tend to do the most when ordering and appreciate their flexibility. Pancakes aren't so hot but they have excellent hash browns, lovely bacon, yummy French toast and awesome coffee creamer flavors. I work in Martinez and my coworkers who are from this area frequent Digger's Diner. Since I live on the other side of the county and lol am always late for work, I have never eaten here. Recently I've had treatments for an illness in the area so I was finally able to eat here. My family and I had breakfast here and it did not disappoint. My daughter had the kitchen sink omelet, my husband had a full bacon breakfast, and I had a mini breakfast with hamburger Patty, fresh fruit, and a blueberry pancake. Everything was delicious! Our meals totaled $45. I couldn't believe it. Our normal breakfast spot has been charging $19 for omelets and $15 for breakfasts. I understand price adjustments because of Covid - but those costs have really prohibited us from weekend breakfasts. The service is friendly and prompt. My daughter even ended up buying t shirts. YAY! I GET TO WRITE DIGGERS' 200TH REVIEW Five (5) stars?! Is that ALL I can give?! Pfffft. Doesn't seem fair. So I'm a little behind the game sometimes. This year was my first time watching the show 'Survivor' and I even participated (and lost) in a pool to determine the winner. I just saw my first ever episode of 'Big Brother' a couple of weeks ago. And yesterday was my first time dining at Digger's. Guess someone finally moved that rock I was living under. I've been thinking about the garlic fries here for a long time. I love perusing Yelp pictures and the garlic fries (and so many other things) were very memorable. I wanted some jalapenos on my fries so I was shocked when I saw this is actually a menu item! Cajun garlic fries with jalapenos and cheese. I ordered this without the cheese. Husband had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. And our friend Val had a burger that could probably win awards for size and good looks. I live in Concord but not very close to here so I would never have known about this great Diner if not for Yelp. I love diners. I love their atmosphere and food and service. The employees here were all friendly with smiley faces. We looked at all the advertising printed directly onto the table while we waited for our food. There was a gravedigger pictured that I pointed out, picturing the man who apparently started this place (the decorations started to make some sense). Husband Casey teased me and pointed at a guy working in the kitchen and said "that's the owner/gravedigger". It wasn't. But RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT the guy actually walked in the front door. OMG. I asked our server if the guy in the doorway was the same as the one on the table. Yes. Yes he was. We even got to meet him and he was awesome. Food was awesome too. It wasn't a long wait before we were served and everything was great. Even though the fries are cut medium (and I prefer skinny cut) they were still very crispy and good. Lots of jalapenos! Gayle and I had a Coupon for Digger's Diner that was expiring soon, so off to Dinner we went. We don't often come this far out into Concord, but the drive through Downtown was surprisingly light. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and reminded me of similar eating establishments in Houston. Digger's Diner is a casual establishment, spread over 2 rooms, and accented in various "gravedigger" motifs. The kicker was the "Tombstone" advertisements on our tabletop, including one for a Mortuary that advised that at some point it would be too late to pre-plan. That's just the thing to read when consuming large quantities of fried foods... I had a Tuna Melt, while Gayle had a Patty Melt. We also shared a too big order of Curly Fries and a bottomless glass of Pink Lemonade. The food was decent overall, the service was super friendly (Thanks Hon!), and the prices were certainly right. At the same time, there was something going on with the ventilation that brought an odd combination of cooking oil and disinfectant to our table. And as tasty as the sandwiches were, the fries were a bit of a disappointment, and things were a little too oily for our tastes. My best friend told me about this place because my boyfriend loves burgers, so I thought we'd try it out. I'm a vegetarian and I got the garden burger, it was really good! A lot like the Nation's harvester, except literally better in every single way lol. My bf got the bacon cheeseburger, and he says it was awesome. The bacon was better than bacon he's gotten at other places. Looked high quality to me. He's picky, so if he likes it you know it's good. He was soooo full by the end, and so was I, we had both gotten normal sized fries and barely couldn't finish we were so full. Which is exactly what we wanted! Though we'll probably get 1 normal fries to share next time lol. The normal fries were absolutely awesome as well, not too salty, hot to the table, golden and crispy yet fluffy and light. Better than Nation's for sure, which I feel like is a good comparison since I'm sure a lot of people have been there. I am so happy to live in a world with places like Digger's Diner! Motorcycles, skeletons, and Bon Jovi playing overhead all before you've had your morning coffee? Yes PLEASE! Finally visited Digger's after many years of playing the "gotta try them someday" game, and were seated right away on a Saturday morning around 9, though the place was definitely jumpin. The staff are awesome and I suspect we were the only ones in there who weren't regulars, standard Saturday morning fixtures - but I sure want to be now! I went for the steak fajita omelet, with fruit and sourdough toast. The omelet was tasty, and I couldn't believe I was actually craving saltiness with it, so I think next time I will take them up on their option to 'Make it Cheesy!'. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and stuffed with chopped steak mixed with onions and peppers. Fruit cup was standard but a welcome substitute for gut-buster fried potatoes - and this is weird, but I have seriously thought about their toast every day since. Toasted perfectly, and generously buttered, like buttered the way you butter your toast at home! SO good!! I cannot wait to return to Digger's to enjoy more excellent food made with love, groove to great rock tunes, and see if my BF was serious when he said he was up for the Six Food Under Challenge. Having grown up in the area I have always heard good things about Diggers Diner but had not ever made it there until this past weekend. Everything on the menu sounded so good and I had taken a look at the yelp pictures of different dishes so I had a tough decision in front of me. I had heard of the legend of the Coffin Burger and decided to give it a try. Since I ordered this behemoth of a burger I had to pass up trying one if their many shakes, next time coffee shake, you will be mine! Fries are separate so my friend and I decided to share, I pointed out that they had a few different types of toppings to choose from and he wanted to go simple with the cheese fries, I suggested the bacon and cheese fries, cause everything is better with bacon! My friend approved. Before we ordered I advised the waitress that I had checked in and showed her my phone for the 10% off our bill with check in. She said thanks for checking in, I appreciate the courtesy! I saw my burger sitting in the kitchen pick up window and I'm thinking to myself how will I ever get that in my mouth? It's like trying to fit a two story building in a smart car. The waitress brought over our food quickly and I asked her for a tip on eating this huge thing...she said most people squish it down or take it apart to eat it, but in her opinion that was cheating I agreed! So I Godzilla squished my burger, opened wide and tried with all my might, I got about 2/3 of the squished burger in, and it was a tasty burger. I kept at it, I had to flip it a few times to keep the bites even and it got messier and messier, it was great! For a soda, bacon cheeseburger, a coffin burger and bacon cheese fries, less the 10% check in discount total was about $22. Great Service, Great atmosphere and even better food. My wife and I visited the Diggers Diner while meeting some family there with a large group. Diner food is usually just good or ok...this isn't your typical Diner. The staff are wonderful and give prompt service along with pointing out local favorites on the menu and explaining options. I had the French Dip and I was absolutely one of the best I've had, no hard fat or overcooked meat and a fresh toasted roll. The Au jus dip sauce was the perfect pairing to the sandwich and they have different options of fries...all are very good. My wife and I can not wait to come back to Concord to try the other menu options. Going to have to get some Diggers Apparel next visit!!! read more

Tons of good reviews made me bookmark this spot, and I finally got the chance to try it when I found myself starving, parked nearby at the batting cages before they opened. Seating was quick for us, but sitting near the door I watched a couple folks leave after waiting for a few minutes to be acknowledged. The place was kind of loud, but it was also pretty full so... yeah. Our waitress provided friendly & efficient service, and our food came out quickly & properly cooked. The omelette was HUGE (I'm glad we shared), and with 3 types of meat, it was greasy... which wasn't surprising & even somewhat expected of "greasy spoon" / diner food. Either way, the omelette tasted great! The hash browns were crispy on the outside, too mushy on the inside, but still tasted alright. The English muffin was buttered & toasted thoroughly (I hate under-toasted, raw-tasting English muffins). We walked in there, got seated, ordered, received, ate, and paid for our meal in under 40 minutes... Overall, good food, good vibe, good experience coming here! Will def go again. read more

I've tried a preliminary attempt to dine here during the Fourth of July, but the diner was closed and had a three-day weekend. "Bummer!" So my co-worker and I made another effort to dine here during lunchtime. And without a doubt, it was successfully accomplished. This big diner is divided into two sections and has local crowds old and young, military personnel (with the military base not far from the diner) and Hot-rod and Harley Davidson's aficionado and enthusiast with its cool pictures of great and unique Hot-rod and other customized vehicles posted all over the place. Many of the flashier Hot Rods are one of the favorites in one of Reno's upcoming and popular event: "Hot August Nights". This classic diner has a tremendous menu-selection of your American classic foods including breakfast being served all day till closing and daily specials. For lunch, my co-worker had one of the specials: the Caramel Apple Waffles. For $5.50, you get two thick-ass flavored waffles with a scoop of sliced cinnamon-apple compost and a cute drizzle of Whipped cream with a maraschino cherry on top. I wish I had a picture of her treat, but I did manage a bite of the treat and it was absolutely delightful to eat and enjoy. She also got an endless cup of Joe with her treat. I have decided to put a balance of leafy greens in my meal, so I opted for the Barbeque Fried Chicken Salad. My $7.50 salad has fresh fried chicken strips and pieces covered with barbecue sauce on top of cut lettuce, tomatoes, onions and shredded cheese. I also ordered a half order of Curly Fries for an additional $3.00. Here's why this place is as good as it gets: Plenty of parking. FREE parking. Coffee, fresh, right away The bacon jalapeno cheese burger. whoamygawd. So good. Spicy. Mayo for daysssss (which I love- don't knock it!). Stuffed with jalapenos and bacon. I did a mental praise and worship dance while eating it. Just enough to leave you stuffed without guilt or gas. Just sayin. Service was perfect for me. She came and checked in on us just enough for us to order, eat, and catch up on life. We sat there for 2.5 hours lol it happens. This review is based on delivery. I couldn't walk for a few days, so I used yelp to look for food deliveries near me and picked this because I could easily order thru yelp. I was amazed my food arrived 20 minutes after confirming my order, eggs florentine and a hamburger for later. Glad I ordered the hamburger, because the breakfast was unedible. The ham was missing, so although the delivery was fast, the english muffin was completely soggy, I guess the ham would have kept it from getting soshed, it was gross. And the hash browns were not quite done, so I couldn't even eat those. So, I got a $48 hamburger that was great. I thought of calling, but I wasn't going to pay for another delivery to correct it. Ive only been here once but was compelled to write because of my lackluster brkfst sandwich and response from one of the waitresses. So i was invited here on a Sat afternoon from a local Kat I chose the breakfast sandwich with sausage. The thick large sourdough bread surrounded 1 egg, 1 tiny piece of cheese and one regular sized sausage. Come on its an egg sandwich, stack that ish and put some love in the middle. A pet peeve of mine with a sandwich is when there is more bread than content. The waitresses response, that's how we been doing it for twenty years!! She acted like I was crazy for asking for a properly made egg sandwich. Also tables were sticky and it was about a 30 min wait for food. read more
