About my last update, it wasn't a good day for me. I went back for breakfast a couple of times and everything was fine. Yes, the airbrushing is not my taste, but that really doesn't matter. I was ridiculed by some about ordering the mini breakfast instead of the full, but the portions are pretty large. The mini is enough, thanks. I switched from scrambled eggs to over hard. This seemed to cut down on the oily, greasy taste. The same server was there the last couple of times. She's a cutie and very good with customer service. This place is awesome, enough said. This place is part 50s diner, part motorcycle graveyard, and oh so tasty. Their burgers are fresh and delicious, the fries both crispy and creamy, and their shakes, oh their shakes, thiiiick and tasty. Every waitress there is really nice (and cute), always doing their best to take care of you. Good tunes are always going in the background, and the pace just has a good atmosphere. I just wish they were open past 3 on saturdays, or at all on sundays, but oh well Their BBQ bacon burger is amazing, and quite messy (although there is nothing wrong with that). The city girl makes it to the Burbs! And where do I end up eating on a diet? Diggers all grease joint! LOL. My diet not going too well. Well I tried to stay away from the grease, had the Taco Salad and a few fries from someone else plate. The fries were good! nice and crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. The taco salad was ok, what I expected from a greasy spoon kinda place. The salad didn't look appealing, pale tomatoes, light green leaves of lettuce, stale chips, weird looking guacamole, chili from a can with meat that looks like dog food, cheese, sourcream. OK sounds more like nachos with lettuce! I ate it and it wasn't horrible tasting. Oh one chip was so stale I couldn't bite into it, I had to spit it out! 2stars for the salad, the extra star for good fries. I am sure their grease food is fab! read more

Great place with a Family friendly atmosphere. I literally live right down the street from this place and I have never eaten here. We went here for Breakfast and it was phenomenal. The Service was good and with the variety and diverse menu; I had a hard time choosing a dish. I went with Gracie's Caramel Pecan Waffle with a side of Hash browns. The Daily special of the Eggs Benedict almost lured me in, but I had the "sweet tooth" today. The waffle was sweet, but not too overwhelming. The right amount of whip cream and pecans was a nice balance. The hash browns were cooked perfectly without being overladen with butter. The owner seemed Friendly as well as everyone we encountered. The Coffee was always refilled and I will definitely be back next time for lunch to try the burgers and shakes. I will not even try the "Gravedigger" Challenge. I'll leave that to Adam Richman on Man vs. Food. What a value! This place has a funky biker/skeleton vibe with a friendly atmosphere. Wild combo but it totally works. We took some friends here who were up from LA for hangover food and this fit the bill! We shared the special of strawberry pancakes, and my wife got the breakfast sandwich burger with an egg on it and she really enjoyed it. I got a spicy omelette and they are not messing around! Huge omelette with hot link sausage and jalapeños inside. We also shared the Cajun cheese fries and those are a must try! Tasty crispy but fluffy fries covered in garlic, smothered in cheese, Cajun seasoning and jalapeños. Awesomeness. 3.5 stars Came here for a quick breakfast before a long day's road trip and it was BUSY. Our group wasn't too big and they seem to be pretty good about moving people through here in a timely manner so it wasn't too bad. The food is alright, about what you expect from a little locally owned diner. I ordered a breakfast burrito and got a mid sized burrito with everything that makes a meal breakfasty - can't complain about that. I do appreciate the friendly service and smiles from our server though, it really does make the first meal of the day extra special! read more

Off the CHART! We were here this morning. The waitress are exceptionally beautiful and sincere and very very nice. We sat offset to the kitchen, in the side dining room. Dorelle is as beautiful as ever. We had the best breakfast here. This place although from first impression might be CORNY but it is NOT. If you want the most beautiful servicing your food in the morning. Ask for Ms Dorelle. Beside being beautiful. Dorelle is most attentive and we never have to ask for anything. Digger's Diner is that family run hole in the wall kinda place that you always wanna find when you are traveling. This is a great family spot. There are toys and small games and activities on a rack in the main dining area. They are there for all the kids to use and play with. It was great to have something for my lil one to do while we waited to order and then waited to receive our food. Speaking of the food, everything was tasty. We shared pumpkin pancakes. I don't think I've ever had pumpkin pancakes before but these were tasty. I didn't quite know what to expect but they were tasty. I don't think that I'd want to eat more than the one but it was good, just to try it. I wanted something crispy around the edges and more of that rich pumpkin flavor but I didn't quite get that. I felt like the batter was a bit mushy and kinda suggested, to me, that the pancakes were made using canned pumpkin. The eggs were cooked well and just as requested. Service was provided with a smile and a little welcome chit chat. The prices are MORE than reasonable. It just doesn't seem possible to find a place that was so inexpensive. I don't know how many times I have gone out to a restaurant and later said to myself that I probably could have made the same dish at home for pennies in comparison to what I just paid. In this case, I don't think that would have been possible. I think we ordered 3 entrees for under $20. I couldn't believe my eyes. And with such a sweet waitress and her sharing her stories and experiences with her grandchild, I left a hefty tip. After all, it was STILL less than what I'd pay anywhere else, now. I'd love to go back if I had the opportunity. I would like to try either their scramble or omelettes, their most popular dishes. I swear, if you were to see the prices, you'd wanna try a few things too. This is 100% a local spot. And really, it is NOTHING fancy. Here's a run down on my menu favs: Bacon Breakfast Sandwich - I get lite hashbrowns for me. 3 Egg Full Breakfast - hashbrowns extra crispy with Bacon. Bacon and Blue Cheese on Sourdough - I like mine without mustard. Turkey and Cheddar Melt - Loaded with turkey. Seriously. Bacon and Cheddar Cheese Burger - Nice and juicy. Funnel Cake Fries - with strawberry syrup yum!! New York Steak Sandwich - Grilled medium rare for me. Extra Crispy Original Fries And my new fav as of tonight...... The Stubb! Dined there Nov. 19 in the evening. Parking lot was almost full. Nice to see people out supporting local businesses. My wife and were greeted as soon as we walked in and told to sit where we would like. Our waitress, Nayeli(I hope I spelled it correctly) was very friendly. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and it came like she ordered it (picky eater). I ordered the NY Steak sandwich, (done medium) very tender and tasty. Enjoyed our meal and will be back. Got a craving for burgers so I went on yelp looking for a recommendation. Found Digger--looks interesting and best part..close to the house. First impression--would make a good show for "Dive, Diners, and Drivethru"--my favorite show. It's your hole in the wall place.. nothing too fancy --graphics on the wall remind me of a tattoo palor. So I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, reg fries, and the Preacher burger for my hubbie. From reading the other reviews I was disappointed. My burger was kind of dry and the fries that I thought everyone was raving about was really dry--I actually threw half of it away. It was ALRIGHT!--I expect more from the yelps reviews. This is just a great family diner. The prices are very reasonable, which is perfect for a family. I have enjoyed both breakfast and lunch options, so I now feel that my review is actually able to help those in need of a cool diner experience. The theme for Digger's Diner is a motorcycle, classic car, mixed in with cryptic designs. This basically means that it is awesome. There is a spray painted mural of illustrating this theme. The food is yummy and comes in larger than life portions. If you get a burger you can honestly share your fries with someone. That being said, the burgers are BIG and are well seasoned. The breakfast menu is also popular at Digger's. I recently enjoy Chicken Fried Steak, which is a personal favorite, and it was perfectly crispy with the right amount of gravy on top. The bacon comes in thick slices. What I like about ordering coffee is that everyone has a different mug, almost like you are at home. Besides the food, the wait staff is holding in down. They are usually friendly and make you feel like you are in Cheers. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. This is becoming my "go-to" spot in Concord whenever I take my motorcycle for service up the street. So far, every visit has been a mouth-watering experience. I can't say which dishes are the ones to get because I've trusted one of the waitresses to surprise me with every meal... she hasn't disappointed me since! Try the shakes! Burger for breakfast again? Oh yes I did. I was very tempted to go completely overboard with the food. Wanting to get a burger, with the ballpark fries and just completely pig out. Thankfully though I controlled myself just a little bit. I did get a burger (the Stubb) but ordered a small dinner salad with blue cheese instead of the fries. The salad, was good. Nothing special just a regular dinner salad, which was fine because I wasn't looking for much more. The burger was pretty good. It's beef patty with Swiss and American cheese, grilled onions, bacon, and a fried egg stuffed between two slices of Texas toast. The service was good and attentive but everyone seemed to lack any sort of emotion. Not a lot of smiles. The one person who seemed to have personality was the guy I'm guessing was the owner. He was making jokes, chatting, and just having a good time. We will be back and I will try and finish the Six Food Under challenge. read more

I love TV shows Bones for example they always dine at some great diner with a plate of food that looks so amazing but they rarely touch the food on it. So my mission was to find that great diner where i can just chill relax with a friend have a sixty type cutie pouring me coffee while i dine and i found it at Diggers. Felt like it was in a TV show for a min when i came in. I am not much of a breakfast person but i had a massive hangover so need that fix asap and the omelette from hell(not a bad thing since the place is called Diggers) hash and toast came out. It was not the best but then again i dont do breakfast much. It was very tasty though i will return back for their coffin burger look massive and a challenge to finish n try their infamous fries i am glad there is one by my place i just travel too much for food...gas is way too high right now hahah. My wife and I came in to this diner about two weeks ago. We just moved to the area and this is close by our house. The food was very good service was good restaurant was clean. We were very happy with the choice. We had to wait for a table because they were pretty busy. Immediately to our left there was a table with two young men sitting at it they had a pitbull puppy that was four months old. I have no problem with people bringing well-behaved animals with them to a restaurant but I was a little surprised that they allowed a puppy there. I also have a nine year old border collie that is my emotional support animal. She helps me deal with some daily stressors I've had since my discharge from the military. Honestly she has saved me several times. I don't know what I'd do without her. Anyways I took her in to the restaurant with me yesterday to have breakfast. Like I said she is very well behaved and trained and has a service vest on. She is a certified emotional support animal. She laid under the table I ordered coffee and then a manager came over and told me that I could not have my animal in the restaurant. Unless it was a medical service dog. I was honest and told her she was an emotional support dog and I was told I had to leave. I told her about the puppy that was just in there. Made no difference. I'm not one for double standards so I will not be returning to this restaurant. It's unfortunate because the food is good but I will find another place to go. read more

I LOVE DIGGERS! My wife and I have been going here for 10 years. It is a total staple of Concord. But the last SEVERAL times we have been here the service has been horrible!!!! The waitresses have gone down hill. They dont pay attention and they bring out cold food. I pulled out the 10% off Yelp check in and they forgot and told me to use it next time. I usually would give them 5 stars because the food is great and the atmosphere is awesome. They have extremely large serving size especially considering the meager prices they are charging . The building however is very dirty. I have included a picture of the gender neutral bathroom. You can see that that is filthy and I think that that is some sort of prehistoric bug that is dead in the corner. However, the staff were friendly and accommodating especially for being as busy as they were. The prices are very good and you get a large amount of food. It is diner food but it is good diner food. First, I have to talk about the decor as it is really unique. It's 50's diner meets motorcycle/old cars meets graveyard theme. I know the owner was a gravedigger and no revelation - cars and motorcycles are his thing. There's a huge mural depicting him and his wife at a diner and a graveyard scene on far right. You will also see skeletons and a great big gum ball machine. Boring it ain't! You really have to see it for yourself. They serve great hamburgers and sandwiches and various types of loaded fries and milkshakes. Their portions aren't cheap but their prices are. I've been going for years and the service has always been wonderful and I've never had a problem of any kind. Because it's so popular- it's pretty much always busy, especially on weekends but it's a fairly large place and they can accommodate a lot of customers. It's off the beaten track at the willowpass/farm bureau intersection in Concord but worth the drive. Everyone should go to Diggers at least once. read more
