The food is great but there is one lady with blondish hair a little on the older side wearing a maroon tank top hair pulled back in a pony no makeup and she's was sooooo rude!! She acted very put out. She was just rude and made you feel like you wanted to leave. We will never come back because she is so unpleasant. We stood there for 10 min before we got help. We decided to go there even though I wanted to go to Holiday because their sandwiches are pretty good. My husband told me that we will never have to come here again. Wowee!! Unexpected find! Road trip to Oregon via stop in Redding. My son had the "dirty pig"-sliced roast pork, dill pickle slice, bacon, avocado, etc. He made me take a bite because it was so delicious. Gotta admit, the kid was right. Nice crusty roll, pork & pickle remind me of a Cuban pork sandwich. He loved his sandwich so much, he said,"they have dinner too". What?!? You want to go back? So glad we did. He had a pulled pork sandwich and I had a half rack of St Louis ribs. He was VERY happy with his sandwich. My ribs had a nice dry rub. Smoky, pretty moist, fall off the bone tender. REALLY GOOD! BBQ sauce on the side-usual catsupy, slightly sweet, slightly tart & not smoky flavor. Went well with the smoky ribs. Mac salad was mustard forward and tasty. Cole slaw was good. Very friendly, helpful staff. A lot of regulars,as staff addressed them by name. Since many road trips to Oregon are anticipated, I look forward to stopping by again. I definitely recommend the Dirty Pig and the Dirty Chicken sandwiches from Dill's Deli. They are both amazing. I've never had a problem when ordering from here and the employees are friendly. The only thing that I didn't like was when you would walk in, there would be Trump/ Republican signs and a petition to get rid of Newsom. I could care less about Trump or Newsom, I just don't want politics thrown in my face when I'm going to a place to eat. Its already everywhere else you look. Uber'd over here from truck repair. So glad we did!! I opted for the pulled pork Sammy but opted out on the white sauce and had reg red. She let me taste the white .. meh.. not my style. The bread was super crispy on top. Broke da mouth a bit.. didn't care !! Also had a cup of beef soup yum. Only thing was no barley but other than that delish doubled!!!! Bf had the Kidd and he like it too! Potato salad was meh ok he said. But he did get a side of slaw... now THAT was fabulous! Nice and tart with crispy red and green cabbage , 50/50. Great staff, great service, great food. We found this little gem traveling through Redding. We split the Cobb salad and the gobbler. They separated the salad into two containers for us without hesitation. We ended up eating only the salad since it was so filling. Gobbler will be a snack on the road as we head north. I got the Dirty Bird and my boyfriend had the Kidd. Dirty Bird: This is not your average chicken sandwich. There were big pieces of smoked chicken with bacon and ranch. I got it on sourdough instead of the sweet roll and the bread was toasty and fresh. The Kidd: My boyfriend thought it was ok. He was unimpressed by the quality of meat. NO MASKS - unsanitary I tried to pick up lunch from this place on my way through Redding, as it has so many good reviews. I should've taken the time to read them as they mention the same issues. Not only were there customers in the store not wearing masks - the women preparing the food weren't either!!! There are NO sanitary procedures being used here. It was disgusting and I couldn't get out of there fast enough after telling the (very annoyed) woman I would not be taking the order I placed. Hope I managed to get out before I was exposed to covid due to the completely gross and unsafe condition of this restaurant. I'll just clarify I'm NOT from some facebook group, just a person who unfortunately had to travel due to a compromised family member, and thought we could get a sandwich from what sounded like a good deli. This place is disgusting. We ordered sandwiches while driving though Redding and when we pulled up - during Covid - NO customers were wearing masks walking in and out of this place. Customers were dining inside when they were not allowed and the worst - the staff was not practicing ANY safety protocols. I will NEVER return here as it is clear this business cares nothing about their community.
