Stopped in on the Secret Food Tour to sample the Pumpkin Tortellini, OMG It was insane delicious, Talk about really good pasta from an unassuming little (What looked like) corner sub shop. This place is a hidden gem located on Prince st across from Bova bakery. It's a cute restaurant that you can order from the counter. They have some yummy subs my favorite are following chicken pesto and the meatball sub pretty big giving you enough to save for left over for lunch or snack. Got the Sicilian and chicken parm sandwiches. Sicilian was the very good. Tender beef and the sandwich was very soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I don't want bad mouth this small business but my experience was not so positive. During covid-19 I understand that they might be under staff, but at least put some leadership into the place to make it more organized. It was like a war zone with people scrambling looking for a place to seat or ask for some kind of attention. I can't even tell who works there from the customers. But I only notice one lady I believe was also the owner who was behind the counter and also taking the orders and the cashier. Then I believe someone else gave us the food. We were standing outside to get the table outside as it was less crowded and finally got the lady's attention and was told that she will clean it for us but for now take a sit while in a bunch of hay stack as their fall decorations. Nevertheless she never came back to clean the table. I peeked inside and finally a table open so we just took a seat. No table service so I ask my hubby to get on line to ordered and he did. Food took really long to get to us. The sandwich Italiano sandwich was so average the bread was cold and hard. We ordered the spaghetti and meatball which the kids enjoyed buy for me wasa little watery. I enjoyed the free toast and dip!!! Lol. I was not a happy camper. Had an amazing meatball sub here, you can tell the meatballs are made in house and the bread comes from local bakeries. The flavors were immaculate and the woman working the counter is kind and caring. I would absolutely recommend this hole-in-the-wall place if you're looking for a nice quiet solo dinner, or bring a buddy. That being said, I don't know why my body couldn't handle the meatball sub. I found myself on the toilet shortly after consuming half of it (and I walked all the way from here to Lechmere and by the museum of science I started feeling the urge to get to a toilet), then the same thing happened again when I ate the other half. So I'm conflicted, it was SO YUMMY, but went through me fast. Could have also been the Czech Pilsner I got that contributed to the speed run. I would definitely go back and next time I'm going to try the chicken Parm sub. The homemade yummy flavors made with love you can taste are worth it. Love this place! read more
