    Baklava cheesecake
    Sara J.

In the last year, my husband and I have been here 4 or 5 times and it does not disappoint. The food, service and ambiance is always *chef's kiss*. Call us basic but we always start with the tzatziki and pita bread. Nobody does tzatziki better than Dio Deka. During our last visit, we also shared horiatiki village salad which is essentially a Greek salad. As for entrees, my hubs enjoyed the wagyu short ribs and I had the scallops. Both were very delicious. Finished off the meal with the most decadent baklava cheesecake. We've tried a couple of desserts on their menu but the baklava cheesecake is definitely our favorite. We can't wait to go back to try other dishes.

(Ryan Reynolds voiceover) The vibe is fab cafe right next to Los Gatos High! Eddie warmly greeted me! Dio Frappé! New! Delish! Perfect sweetness! Macchiato! Traditional! mmhmm. That's right, ladies! Greek Yogurt avec Honey! Soo good! Would order everything again! Thanks, Eddie! Woohoo!

This place is the ultimate date night spot to go to with your significant other. Our waiter was super friendly and very informative about the wine and food menu. My husband ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered the scallops with risotto and the flavor was incredible. We split the seafood pasta and while it was good, it wasn't nearly as incredible as our personal dishes we ordered. Their homemade tiziki was light and fresh and complimented their homemade bread. Overall, it was a great experience, worth the high price point! We would happily go back here for a special occasion again.

Overall just okay. The food was decent but not standout for the price... the steak was tough and underwhelming, and the lobster pasta didn't resemble the online photos; the sauce was watery. Service was friendly but very slow and seemed understaffed toward the end, so we skipped dessert to avoid more waiting. An acceptable experience, but not one I'd return for.

Amazing flat bread and great spreads!

Best flatbread I have ever had Tom took me for lunch. The spreads are fresh and very tasty. Thank you Ruben for the suggestions on our order.

We are back for more delicious Greek food and wine and we love it here. Our waiter Dimitri has zero personality. We are ordering sashimi and scallops and Brussels sprouts since we had them on Saturday night when we sat at the bar and that was way more fun!!!

Dio Deka is located in a lovely, safe, lively but quiet, neighborhood. From the moment we stepped in the doors to the moment we stepped out, we were greeted with courtesy and perfect service. The staff was quick, knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive to when our water was low of if we needed a new napkin or silverware. They took extra care to bring a decanter for our bottle of wine, then they poured our wine and even gave us new glasses when we had a second different bottle. It's the little details that really make their quality of service stand out. The ambience is wonderful! Beautiful decorations that give a warm, upper class homey feel. The touch of having a fireplace inside brings out the romance. To top it off, the food is fabulous! Our party enjoyed the: octopus appetizer-cooked perfectly, lobster fettuccine-flavors were delectable, rib eye steak-seasoned well and cooked to perfection, seafood risotto- wonderful flavors and fresh seafood, pork chop- large and juicy and paired well with a slightly sweet topping Branzino- the fish was moist with a slight crisp, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked. For dessert, we could not make up our mind so we got: Cheesecake baklava- soft and creamy with a flaky baklava crust, Loukoumades-perfectly crispy and soft beignets, with just the right amount of sweetness, Yiaourti-thick, creamy, slightly tart yogurt, with the perfect sweetness from the berries. We came here for my mother's birthday. They truly made her feel like a queen. I would definitely come back and I recommend this place to everyone!

The meal was consistent and clean, which I appreciated. The taste was mild and simple, not bad but lacking excitement. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere casual, so overall it felt like a fair three-star dinner.

The lobster pasta was definitely the star of the show!

I've been meaning to try this place for awhile. As a Greek, I pride myself to try the many different authentic Greek restaurants in the area. So when hubby suggested to go on a date night, I knew just where I wanted to go. I'd give this place 3.5 stars out of 5. This restaurant is tucked away from the busy downtown of Los Gatos. It's actually a restaurant part of a hotel. So if you aren't staying at the hotel, you have to park on the street. We didn't have any trouble finding street parking but you do get the sense that you are in a hotel ambiance. One of the highlights is walking into the entrance and seeing the beautiful fountain! We were immediately greeted and seated. The ambiance I'd say was decent. They have Greek music playing but the lighting could have been better. Now for the food. I had reviewed the recommendations from previous yelpers so I had an idea what to order. The main tip is yes, definitely order the Greek dishes as that is their specialty! For appetizers, we had the fried zucchini and the saganaki. Now the Saganaki is typically served flambé but they actually took a different spin to their saganaki. They serve it more sweeter, drizzled with honey. Apparently that's how the owners grandmother used to make it so I thought that was a nice touch. It was interesting for a saganaki though as I was used to more savory! The main meals were delicious. I had the lobster pasta and the sauce and the lobster melted in your mouth. It was also a generous portion which I appreciated. Hubby had the lamb shanks that were also tasty. The one thing to note about the meals is that you order the main dish (like lobster pasta or lamb shank) and you have to order the sides seperately (the potatoes, veggies, etc). I thought that was a little weird and not to mention it was costly for the amount as well. This is not very typical in Greece so I didn't think that part was that authentic. For dessert we had the baklava although at that point we were both ready to be rolled out of the restaurant because we were so full! The service was also pretty attentive and friendly. Overall I thought it was a nice place and we had a lovely time but I don't think I will be back. It doesn't compare to the caliber of the other Greek restaurants in Palo Alto that we go often to. You definitely feel like you are part of a hotel, not just its separate restaurant. Full disclosure, it was a tad forgettable in that sense, and the fact we had to order sides as extra kind of turned me off. However I am still glad I tried it. I'd recommend coming here for a date night to try it out for yourself! Just be prepared to pay extra for sides, feel as if it's part of a hotel and have it be semi-Greek authentic. And if you do come here, definitely get the lobster pasta!!!

Superb Greek food and wine, excellent service. Pleasant atmosphere. We went for our anniversary dinner and plan to go back for other big events! The tomato-watermelon gazpacho was superb!

Went for a birthday dinner, thought we'd class it up a bit and go for some fine Greek dining at Dio Deka, which didn't disappoint. A couple of us had the Arni Youvetsi "lamb volcano shank", which was delicious and a sizeable portion. We also had the lobster pasta, which was great as well (as long as you don't mind looking at a lobster head ); rich and creamy sauce. Marco was an amazing server and gave great guidance on both food and drink. Ambiance is light, modern, and chatty. I haven't been here for a few years, but I have to come back sooner.

Went to Dio Deka for my second time and I was absolutely blown away by the food and the service. We were there as a group of 12 to celebrate a birthday dinner; we were warmly greeted and had the most amazing server, Athos, who gave perfect food recommendations and was so lively that his presence really brightened our already wonderful evening. The cocktail menu is a little short and not my style so Athos recommended a raspberry mojito and it was the best mojito I've had, such strong mint flavor! We ordered spanikopita, octopus, and carrot fritters as appetizers and all three were delicious. The char and flavor on the octopus was so good! I finally found an octopus to rival the one at Hero Ranch Kitchen :) I had the lobster pasta for my entree and the ekmek for dessert and both were full of flavor and unlike other dishes I've had before. I also tried a friend's baklava and it was the best I've ever had. Thank you to Dio Deka and Athos for such a fun, memorable evening!

Excellent food but check the prices before you go. All very good. Lamb shank favor was a solid 10/10!

The Westholme Wagyu was the showstopper -- that filet with the au gratin potatoes and cremini mushrooms is worth every penny of the occasion you invent to justify it. The Steak Diane was right there with it; the brandy-mushroom cream sauce is the kind of thing you keep going back to with a spoon after the steak is gone. Mongolian Beef was excellent too -- the shaved filet with the garlic chips and slaw had a nice bit of brightness against everything else. And the lobster mac and cheese. I don't need to explain the lobster mac and cheese. Then we ordered four desserts. Yes, four. For two people. The chocolate decadence, the butter cake, the gluten-free torte, and an affogato. No regrets. The butter cake with the strawberries was my favorite, but I was outvoted at least once. Our server JP was fantastic -- attentive, warm, made the whole night feel like an event without ever hovering. Genuinely made the evening. Perfect place for a celebration. I was able to make a last minute reservation without having to commit to a deposit, which was a breath of fresh air these days. There was ample parking at the private lot since it was still early. ASA had a pretty interior with a relaxed upscale atmosphere. Overall customer experience was exemplary. Employees were very friendly and courteous, and the wait staff was especially attentive. Also appreciated that our food came out in a timely manner. We shared the king trumpet mushroom appetizer, arrabiata pasta, and the Argentine steak, which was the perfect amount of food. Everything was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The appetizer surprised me the most with its uniqueness. The mushroom stems were cut paper thin and had the slightest essence of smokiness. Loved the chickpea puree. The Argentine steak was perfectly medium rare, and the meat itself was so tender. The fries were excellent. The fries were made the way I love them - light, airy, and crispy. Addictive and hard to resist. Lastly, the arrabiata pasta was solid. I did think the pasta was cooked 30 seconds too long, but the sauce really made up for the dish. The arbol chili and fresh garlic packed on some heat. We look forward to coming back for the steak and to try the mushroom rigatoni that everyone raves about!

The bar was pleasantly busy, good atmosphere, but I was able to find two seats right away, which was great. I was in love with the attention to detail with every little thing in this place. The beautiful silverware, the glasses for the drinks, just everything. It's got a very fun design and I really like it's whole look. Oh also as you walk into the restaurant, you pass a massive glass wall that is the entire kitchen, so you can see them working, producing beautiful dishes, and they make their pasta in house. If you don't already know, fresh pasta is always so much better than not freshly made!! Shortly after we sat a server host presented us with a starter snack of fresh vegetables with a garlic cheese dip, there's a technical word for this, but I forget what it is. It was a pleasant surprise, and the garlic cheese dip was really good. We ordered starter blue cheese wedge salad, it was very good, a somewhat unique wedge salad because it had tiny balls of cucumber with very finally sliced pickled onion, it was not strong on the blue cheese flavor, but it was a great salad. We've tried their fish, carnitas, and birria tacos - all of which were amazing, though the birria and fish tacos were the clear standouts. The mango paired with the crispy fish is a true winner & you can't beat the ultimate comfort food of the birria taco. The presentation of the food is also stunning, with dishes served beautifully on black slate plates and mini cast-iron pans. I have to give a special shout-out to the chef: this is officially the only restaurant where I have actually finished the accompanying sides of refried beans and rice. They were absolutely outstanding! If you haven't been to Hercules yet, it is a must-visit. Don't miss out on their great drinks either--the hibiscus margarita is highly recommended!

Enjoyed the large tables, lights and ambiance. Would be a fun place for a group to get together. Now for the food - we were very happy with everything we ordered. We started with the queso fundido which was smaller than I expected but very good! For entrees we tried the quesabirria and fish tacos. The birria taco may have been my favorite bite! Delicious!! The enchiladas trio was also well executed. Tried the TJ Caesar Salad, the tamales and the chips and guac. The guac was another star, but the tamales were probably my next favorite bite. I would recommend trying 1 of each of the flavors. All were good and the sweet corn tamale was a surprise hit!! Would definitely come back here again!

We had a mix of dishes; Meatball side as an app, bread, Pasta Primavera, Burrata Pizza Pie, and I did a repeat of the Tagliatelle Bolognese... all delicious, especially w a bottle of cab. Energetic service from Westin, who was hustling. The busser is also alert and ready to neaten up the table. I had a bout of Peppermill envy again. Get the fresh pepper. It's worth the scene. The Pastaria is noticeably where the LG ladies seem to gather, so that is good. Haha.

*Vegetarian Foodie Review*…read more Went here with a group of friends for the first time. Ordered: 1) Garlic Bread: 5/5 - Tasted super fresh and garlicky without too much cheese, exactly the way I like it. 2) Walnut Pesto Linguine: 2/5 - It sounded super interesting, so I ordered it. First of all, the dish didn't look appealing at all. I get that it's called walnut pesto, but there were way too many walnuts. As for the pasta itself, it tasted very bland, not flavorful at all. My friend and I ordered the same dish and we both felt the same way, couldn't get past 2 spoonfuls. 3) Pasta Primavera (white wine cream sauced swapped for pink sauced - red and white combined): 5/5 - ordered this for my 5 year old, and omg it was amazing and full of flavor. 4) Burrata Pizza: 5/5 - A very interesting combination of toppings. Must try, do not miss it! 5) Port Belly Pizza (ordered without the pork, made vegetarian): 4/5 - pretty good and flavorful. 6) Pink Gin & Elderflower Tonic (mocktail): 3/5 - Nothing great. I don't drink alcohol at all, so I am not sure how mock gin should taste like. 7) Tiramisu: 4/5 - above average compared to most places. Not soggy or dry - it was good. 8) Brownie Sundae: 3/5 - I had a lot of expectations for this one, but it turned out to be meh, the brownie chunks should have been warm; instead they were pretty hard in texture. They should have warmed it before serving it with the gelato. The taste was good though. Definitely coming back, but I would stick to ordering pizza or the pasta primavera next time. The pizza, bread, etc. were super fresh, and you could feel that in every bite. The ambiance is awesome, you could come here for special occasions with friends and family. Our server was very attentive, gave us good recommendations, and was super nice to us.
