Come in with the right expectations and you'll be pleasantly surprised by the addictive 505 pizza and garlic toast! Service is very slow so don't come here if you're in a rush, but service is friendly and I wish we had mid-level sit down pizza spots near me. The warmed up cookies are also great! read more

Dion's is a staple in New Mexico. And for good reason! They serve hot, fresh, delicious pizzas at a reasonable price. It's been a while since I ate here, but I have to admit, not much has changed. That's a good thing! The pizza was hot, fresh, and reasonably-priced. We got two large pizzas and a large salad. Everything was fantastic, but I have to admit, as a guy, I was surprised with the SALAD! It had a lot of cheese, ham, croutons, and fresh veggies. More than that, I was overly impressed with the employees. They were young and respectful employees, which is rare nowadays. All of the staff was polite. No attitude here. No talking back. No eye-rolls. No miscommunications. I went up several times to ask for this or that - more water, more salad dressing etc, and every time the employees were accommodating. Keep it up! When I asked an employee, who was near the counter, calling orders that I was here to pick up an order, she asked, did you ask the registrar? Waited to an order that was incorrect. This location is extremely fast and reliable. The customer service is excellent. We went in during the lunch hour and the line was nearly to the door, however, within a few minutes, we were at the front ordering!! The staff works quickly and efficiently and they were very nice. The restaurant is also very good about maintaining social distancing despite the lunch hour rush. Additionally, there were two staff members that were wiping down the tables and keeping them clean after people finished their meals. The food was superb as per usual. I don't normally like the pizza since it doesn't have as much sauce as I'd like, but the subs are great!! Delicious food and another lovely experience at this location. read more

Ah good ole Dion's! The pizza, the ranch, the meatballs in the meatball sub that you just know being a New Mexican. The flavor so unique and fresh it sets them apart from all the competitors out there. It'll give you a run for your money. You remember a few years ago when they ran out of ranch and everyone lost it?! Yeah that's how good it is! It's like they put in it or something cuz you just can never get enough of the delicious dressing. The same can be said about the pizza, and the meatball sub for me. As an update to my last review let me thank Dion's for reaching out. On 7-18-23 I decided to try Dions on Paseo again. I ordered a large pizza and a family Salad. The young lady who took my order was very polite and said my order would be ready in about 20 minute, so we went to run another errand across the street. About 20 minutes later we returned and was told that our order wasn't quite ready. The young lady apologized and offered us a free drink while we waited. My son took her up on a Dr. Pepper. As soon as we drove around to the front we were met by a young man who was very pleasant and handed us our order. The Pizza was Dions perfect! The salad was just the was we ordered it. I'm not sure what changed but the sandwiches just aren't nearly as good as they used to be. Which is so disappointing. I used to love the turkey and provolone but the meat is different. It is hard to eat now. Pizza is still great but I miss the sandwiches.:( read more

Disappointed in this location. We have eaten here before but the service isn't as good as it was previously and they screwed up one of our pizzas, turning my pineapple topping into pepperoni. They made a new one, but the toppings were sparse and the flavor was lacking. I think we will go to a different location next time if we decide to have a Dion's pizza again. read more

The pizza was good. The employees were courteous. The only real negative was the restroom. There was no seat liners (not just empty. They do not even have a holder) They were out of toilet paper. Dion's ham and green chile pizza is a must have, when in Albuquerque! My slice this past Saturday was perfect with their slightly sweet sauce, generous amount of cheese with just the right stretch, chile with a good burn and loads of ham. The sandwiches are great and I LOVE the ranch salad, loaded with pastrami (but, I like the old croutons they used to use better... they were flat discs and more subtle than the big square cubes)! If I lived in Albuquerque, I would have Dion's pizza at least once a week! read more

Another NM favorite. One of the better pizza places in town however I would consider it middle of the road nation wide. They have a nice variety of toppings and the restaurant is always clean. What ever you get you should try adding green chili to it. I do like take out more because they do not serve beer. If they had a beer menu they would be up to four stars. I would have left 5 stars but getting the order wrong is about the worst thing you can do to a customer. My order this afternoon was the second time I ordered a Chef's salad with no bacon bits and it came with bacon bits. The crappy bacon bits Dion's puts on their salads don't even taste like bacon. They're pretty crappy. How hard is it to make up a Chef's salad with no bacon bits? It's not like I'm asking for a discount or something. Extremely disappointed by this location. My husband left work late one night and ordered us food and had forgotten to grab a mask. He was met by an employee who told him to put on a mask or leave. My husband asked him if he had an extra one or if he could just take his card and bring his food but to no avail. The restaurant was about to close so of course he did not have time to run to the store. Do I understand the mask policy? Dion's is a good restaurant, but be careful if ordering salads for carry out. About half the time the only lettuce the salad maker is familiar with is iceberg, so whatever you order (spinach, spinach and romaine) you will get iceberg. Fortunately there are no up charges for lettuce changes, but if an iceberg can sink the Titanic it definitely sinks a chicken Caesar. read more

My friends brought over a Hawaiian pizza for our movie night. While it did have the pineapple, ham, and cheese, there was no sauce. Underneath the cheese was only crust. Who does that. Back on point from a previous visit to my favorite pizza place. I have lived on both coasts and always search out the pizza places and none of them has ever come close to Dion's. With the exception of one time the quality has stayed consistent since the late 70's, the first time I rode my bike to the original on Montgomery. The only problem is I no longer reside in NM. You need to open one in Harker Heights or Copperas Cove TX. If you do I will scream from the rooftops how great the pizza is at Dion's. read more

They're a little on the slow side, but the food is delicious. They also serve some of the best tasting salads for a pizza place. Clean, cozy atmosphere and reasonably priced. Dion's is a wonderful local staple. This location can be troublesome when the line is to the door (but that many people is a good kind of review!) and the staff is friendly. Give the specialty pizzas a try, and if you're unable to decide, they'll split 1/2 and 1/2 on flavors. I suggest one side Kansas City (BBQ sauce and chicken) and the other Duke City (turkey, white cheese, and green chile), it's a fabulous combo. Salads are usually fresh (occasionally have to pick out some icky lettuce) and I always have them hold the mix (cucumber something or other I can't stand but my husband loves it so they'll put it in a side container). Another suggestion from my friend had us on our way here for dinner while in Albuquerque. We settled on the Small (12") Dion's Special, a half Tossed Salad, a Small order of Garlic Toast and a pitcher of Cherry Coke. It was under $20 for the two of us (plus left overs). The service was great, the place was clean and the food was pretty good! It was the first decent slice we've had since moving out of Washington State!
