What can I say that hasn't already been mentioned by my favorite Yelpers? Not much, but I'll give it a try! A few weeks ago, our group of about 20 Yelp friends descended on Divina Cucina for our own unofficial Yelp dinner. Not every restaurant can manage such a large group, let alone with the efficiency and poise that the staff here provided. Truly, I cannot emphasize enough how phenomenal the service was here at Divina Cucina! Our waiters were friendly and attentive, and they handled our large group with ease. As incredible as the service was, the food was even better. A few of us decided to share a salad, Margherita pizza, and the gnocchi fritti. The few times I've tried gnocchi, it was always tougher than I would have liked. But here, the gnocchi was absolute perfection - cooked in a spicy arrabiata sauce, each bite was soft, chewy, and flavorful. I was amazed by how delicious the dish was. The pizza was excellent as well, and the salad was a healthy addition to round out our meal. Bottomline, I had an amazing evening with good friends and great food. Lovely night here with some friends - the pollo della casa was delicious and very filling...I ate every bit of that protein! The drink, a mojito, was perfect after the drive through DTLA. The appetizers, a bruschetta with olive tapenade and bread with olive oil, were very good starters. We sat in a covered patio area that had doors and windows open so it was very temperate without being chilly. The servers were nice, and the restaurant busy. Parking, of course, slightly challenging, but I found a spot in the alley behind the restaurant where there are also a few spots. Located in Old Montrose, the area looked very walkable, and I'd love to visit again. read more

It was time for another UYE friends get together and Divina Cucina was the place. The lovely owner Lucia graciously said she could accommodate us, even though Friday is one of their busiest nights. Managing a party of 20 isn't easy but Alfredo & Nacho did a great job of taking care of us and other members of the staff made sure water was refilled and baskets of fresh bread were replenished. Established in 1996, Divina Cucina has a cozy covered patio and a charming dining room. In addition to complimentary bread (served with olive oil & balsamic) we were also treated to an amuse-bouche of toasted bread topped with olive tapenade to enjoy while we waited for our drinks. I ordered the French Pear Martini, which was light and refreshing and much needed after my hectic day. The menu features a variety of Cal-Fusion dishes. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Five of us shared the Giadinera Salad, Margherita Pizza, & Gnocchi Fritti. I'm picky when it comes to Italian food because I was grew up eating amazing home cooked meals by my grandpa and mom. The gnocchi were perfectly cooked. Slightly dense but soft & chewy and the spicy arrabbiata sauce was fantastica! The pizza was also exceptionally good. The crust was crispy on the outside and soft & chewy inside. You could tell they use fresh, quality mozzarella because it was melty with just the right amount of stretch! The salad also did not disappoint and provided a nice balance to the heartier dishes. We didn't order dessert because Auntie Nadine was sweet enough to bake a cake for our darling Birthday girl Delia. Shout out to Te-See for finding this gem of a place and organizing our get together. This place was fabulous. I stumbled upon it a few months ago when attending a street fair and bookmarked on yelp for future outings. Well, today was the day!!!! I made a reservation for 20 people 2 weeks ago for a Friday night. The owner, Lucia, was very accommodating and I promised to reconfirm a few days before which I did with her daughter in-law, Kelly. Everything was perfect. We sat outside on their gorgeous covered patio, service was spot on, the food and drinks were delicious!!! Everyone in our group kept thanking me and told me that it was a great choice for our gathering. Woo hoo!!! Alfredo and Nacho were our servers for the evening. Our group had a wonderful experience here to kick off our weekend - fantastic service, absolutely delicious food, chill vibes - and they handled our large party of 18 so flawlessly!! Huge shout out to our two servers Alfredo & Nacho, and their whole team for making our dinner wonderful!! Got together with the Yelp fam here after our original location didn't pan out for our large party and I'm so glad it worked out this way! Lobster ravioli is one of my all time favorite dishes and I've been searching the LA area for a good one - it's been surprisingly scarce on local menus but I hit the jackpot here. Their portions are huge - and their lobster ravioli is filling and comforting - sauce is a perfect balance of tomato and cream and it compliments the generous lobster filling - top it off with their quality Parmesan and it's heaven! Everyone else really enjoyed their food too - notable plates were the Cioppino, Pasta di Mare special, and the salmon special. Also, they bring out complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic which was fabulous, as well as some bread pieces with a nice tapenade and cheese - a great way to start our meal. The service here really is exceptional. We were celebrating a bday of one of our party members and they let us bring our own cake (shout out to @NadineC for baking on your vacation waaat??!!) - they even gave us plates and cutlery - really made sure we enjoyed ourselves and had everything we needed. The location in near the cute little walkable area of Montrose. It's a bit far for me, but the food was so good that I'll definitely be back - no doubt! Parking is a bit of an issue - they have very few spaces around the sides - but they also have a few in the back that no one seemed to be using - probably bc to access them you have to go around the corner to the right and turn down the first alley you come to. Dinner in Montrose, California... Our Yelp family enjoys dining together, and Divina Cucina was the perfect place to gather! Te-See found this quaint, cozy restaurant which was purchased by Lucia, the new owner, about a year ago. We were thrilled that this small business was able to accommodate our large party of 20 people on the patio. (I didn't look inside the main restaurant.) Unfortunately, life happens, and two guys couldn't join us... Total party of 18. Nacho was our competent, patient server! He was professional and efficient. The server on our second table was Alfredo - he was also excellent! The team of two helped each other out along with the busboy who brought us extra dessert plates, napkins, and forks for the birthday cake that we brought in. Note: Our check was split by tables The free parking that surrounded the building wasn't enough for our group. Due to traffic from the Rose Bowl and an accident nearby, some streets were closed off and caused delays in our arrival. Some of us found parking in the residential area about a block away. When Nacho was sharing the Specials of the Day with us, the Salmon topped with Mushrooms and Shrimp sounded different, so I ordered it. Wow... The slightly tart seasoning was captivating... I wanted to figure out what it was, so I ate more! Haha! The Salmon was tender and moist! I liked the sautéed vegetables that enhanced the dish! I couldn't finish because I had the complimentary Tapenade (delicious) and TWO pieces of the fluffy focaccia with olive oil and balsamic vinegar... YUM! That was a marvelous meal! I went to Divina Cucina with a group of friends from Yelp. Right away I was impressed with the menu. There are so many options and so many of them are different from the standard dishes you usually find at most Italian restaurants. All dishes sounded wonderful and I wanted to try them all!. Service was really good. Nacho was our server and he did great managing a group of 20. Hot break was always available and drinks were promptly refilled. Five stars for Nacho! I ordered the Spaghetti alla Paula which was fresh, colorful and very tasty. My husband ordered one of the specials, the Pasta Frutti di Mare, which was also delicious. The restaurant is stylish and has a nice covered patio in the front. The parking lot is tiny and you need to be a skilled driver to go around the building, but luckily there is plenty of street parking available. At the end of our meal I had not received my leftover food as I had requested and when I asked about it, they actually cooked me a brand new order to go. Now, that's good customer service! Lucia, the owner and her staff took excellent care of our group and we loved the place. My husband and I plan on coming back soon to try some more of the wonderful items in the menu. read more

Thanks to Yelp friend Te-see who made this evening so special. She graciously made a reservation for a large group of us Yelpers and we couldn't be more appreciative. This lovely neighborhood gem is located in Montrose, right across the way from busy and popular Honolulu Avenue stretch of retail establishments. I don't make it out this way very often, but when I do, the area somehow makes me feel like I'm not in the hustle and bustle of greater LA. The restaurant is stand-alone, small private parking lot surrounds it or there's ample street parking within a 5 minute walk. Menu was extensive, I had a hard time choosing because EVERYTHING seemed so good! Luckily, our server Nacho saved me by offering the evening's special items. I went for the seafood pasta, which offered a bountiful mound of various seafood such as clams, mussels, salmon, squid. I also felt like soup on this toasty evening so I went for the minestrone, which was quite delicious...simple, satisfying and filling! Others around me greatly enjoyed their meals as well as each other's company. It seemed like there were A LOT of neighborhood regulars and that's a good sign. I almost never go out for Italian food, but our son wanted to so we did - and I'm so glad! Parking was not that easy (they have a dedicated lot, which was full) but that's the only negative! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. And the food was delicious! We had the gnocchi and the funghi appetizers, both of which were delicious! And then we had the Margherita pizza, the Risotto di Francisci, and a pasta (can't remember the name). All of them were fantastic! Only complaint - my pasta wasn't as hot as I'd like, but i think it's because the burrata cooled it off. That was a minor issue. Finished dinner off with creme brûlée and espresso. Yum! This place was incredible. We showed up an hour before closing (which I usually like to do) and they were so kind and hospitable! We ordered some wine off of the recommendation of Alfredo, our waiter, and it synced perfectly with our meals. We started with the fried gnocchi upon suggesting from Alfredo and were blown away by the flavor and crispiness. To top it off there was spinach and cheese inside which was mouthwateringly good. Our main dishes were great too, I ordered the seafood alfredo special which came with a hefty amount of seafood that was cooked just right. I haven't been to Divina Cucina in quite a long time. First experiences were maybe 10 years ago? Maybe more? We were never impressed, service wasn't very good and maybe that left a bad taste in my mouth. At least, that's what I remeber- so we never came back. But on a whim, my wife, and a friend and I walked in and grabbed a table on a Thursday night (4/17/25) because the brand new restaurant (Sabrina's Pizzeria) was booked. My wife was excited to see an eggplant parmigiana on the menu and that intrigued me, and we were both going to order it - but it wasn't on MY menu. The waiter informed us that she had the wrong (old) menu. So that was a disappointment right off the bat and my expectations of a better experience wasn't very good. Well, let me tell ya... I can't wait to go back! After the menu mix-up, I decided to try, what I think now is, the best Spaghetti I've ever had. There are three on the menu and I chose: Spaghetti con Polpette Wow. The meat sauce was spectacular. I'm generally not a thick sauce kinda guy, and I like to see my noodles. But wow, that sauce was incredible. I couldn't stop talking about it. You literally could pile on another plate of noodles and have two dishes the sauce was so generous. And it was I N C R E D I B L E ! ! ! My friend had the Spaghetti Bolognese and she LOVED IT. My wife chose the Lasagna alla Napoletana and she LOVED IT!!! A glass of Merlot from up north and I'm telling you, I was so happy with this visit I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! Music on Thursday nights too! It's, right now, my favorite Italian restaurant and I have to thank the new restaurant across the street, Sabrinas, for forcing my hand and retrying Divina. read more

We've been dining here with a couple of visits annually for over 10 years, and have been extremely happy with most of the food and all of the service. Tonight we dined here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Wife's salad and pasta dishes were OK, but my beet and burrata salad, while substantial, should have been called an arugula salad with beets, burrata cheese and candied walnuts. Presented with an overwhelming mountain of arugula that totally buried the red & golden beets, it was opposite the menu description of beets & burrata "served on a bed of arugula." While the beets were plentiful, I had to dig for them through the stack of greenery, pushing arugula to and fro on the plate, and the burrata cheese, while creamy, had no flavor. I left most of the arugula on the dish. The entree of carbonara pasta (a first for me) was on the bland side with only a suggestion of minute pieces of pancetta, which did little to flavor the dish. I guess I expected more, as I've found red sauces full of flavor, but wanted something different tonight. As regular patrons of Cucina, this and our previous visit earlier in the year were disappointing from a food standpoint. With that previous below par visit, we figured it was a one-off, which I feel a restaurant is entitled to with the hundreds of meals they serve, and our 10-year experience was a testament to the usual quality and service we've experienced. Currently, while the service was exemplary as always, I think tonight's repeated food disappointment is telling. I hate giving up on a trusted favorite, but after two consecutive misses, I'm not sure I'm ready for a third. read more

We stopped by for dinner and were really impressed. The pizza was fresh and flavorful, and we also tried a few appetizers that were absolutely delicious -- everything was clearly made with care and quality ingredients. It's a family-owned restaurant, and you can really feel the love in both the food and the atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. And I can't forget to mention the Tiramisu... WOW. Hands down, the best Tiramisu I've had anywhere -- light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. I've been eating here for years ! The family owned operation establishes a beautiful ambiance for dinning . Service is great and attentive. The servers are friendly and make you feel like you're part of the family which really attributes to the comforts of the either dinning experience at Divina. The food is amazing , if you love Italian food and want to keep it local , this the place to dine. I recommend dinning here at Valentine's Day , they make the place really cute and festive ,I think they take advance reservations for Valentine's. I also recommend the Alfredo Fettuccine with sun dried tomatoes and salmon for pasta and seafood lovers, easy in the sauce, it's simply divine. Though the saffron risotto is yummy as well . Food was great but they brought us pastries saying it was included then charged us for them at the end... didn't offer to fix the price even though they had initially told us it was included. They just apologize instead of correcting the mistake. Make sure to check your bill closely if you visit this place so there are no surprise charges. *** update- wish there was a way to respond directly to business owners' comments. No one wanted the menu for free- when the server tells us it's included, you need to honor that, even if he made a mistake. If he told us it was a certain amount, of course we were willing to pay, but he said it was included, so you as the manager needed to honor that. I finally went to Divina Cucina for lunch today and I had a glass of wine, a prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer and a roasted chicken special. The service was fantastic and the food was almost perfect. The chicken was just a tad rubbery for me but the flavor was amazing! Such a cute little Italian restaurant, perfect for any occasion. Good, except... The owner served us the wrong bottle of pinot noir wine, the lesser priced (by the glass) instead of the higher price (bottle only). We noticed during the meal and had to ask for our check to be corrected. Had we not noticed, we would have paid the higher price for the lesser priced bottle. Once the check was corrected, the owner opined the lesser priced wine was the better wine of our two choices. No compensation was provided, just her Opinion and that she would give us the discount for the higher priced bottle on our next visit (whenever that may be). Owner: provide compensation for errors then and there, as not all your customers live locally for a return visit. read more

Among the southern California Yelp friends plus Oahu, we found a perfect place to dine and meet new found friends in this beautiful patio restaurant with wood decor and a wonderful sunset while we dined on probably one of the best Italian dinners I've had in my life. For a smaller restaurant, they were able to feed about twenty of us immediately, and with a smile at that. My wife enjoyed her lobster ravioli and has now made this her go to Italian restaurant. For me, I judge Italian restaurants on their Cioppino and how much fresh seafood they use. Mine was a quality dish, with the shrimp perfectly cooked and able to be pulled easily from the shell. Chunks of salmon, mussel, and other seafood made this dish something to celebrate. I even saved the sauce for a future try at cooking Italian! All-in all, a wonderful place to enjoy the company of nice friends and new friends at that! read more

Divina...perhaps trying to imitate an updated villa in Toscano. Pleasant interior full of pleasing natural stained wood furniture & earth tones. Part of the ceiling looks like a trompe l'oeil of the blue heaven with puti flying joyfully.  0) Complimentary Bruschetta: Crunchy thick flat bread. Fine purée of herbs almost imitating Chimichurri  & aceto balsamico vinegar.  The aesthetic combination bottle of golden yellow, viscous, buttery yet lightly bitter, peppery, virgin olive oil surrounds a fine blown glass looking like a bunch of grapes containing dark Aceto Balsamico.  Round, domed bread that is lighter than Foccacia but more robust than a baguette comes warm and good to sop up the golden olive oil & Aceto Basamico.  1) Beet Napoléon: Imitates the Napoléon pastry by placing sliced, sweet, pickled purplish red beets sandwiching sweet, rich, heavy cream Mascarpone cheese creating a layered effect.   Excellent flavour combination that contrasted well to the bitter, fresh, green herbal, & peanut oil like scent of fibrous, dark green wild Ruccola/arrugula. It originally comes w/ mixed baby greens on the menu, but asked for the Ruccola instead.  French Emperor Napoléon Bonaparte's original name is spelled Buonaparte revealing his Italian origins since Corse, the French name for the island that he was born in, was Italian at the time and named Còrsica.  Napoléon changed his last name to a Frenchified spelling when Còrsica came under French rule. So this concocted salad's name makes an indirect reference  to Italy.  Valentina Pizza: Thin crust pizza except for the thicker rounded edges. Thin sliced porky Italian sausage, earthy button mushrooms, slIced red & green bellpeppers, purple onions.  Standard mozzarella cheese w/ scattering of parmesan cheese sprinkled on at the table. Crushed red pepper bottle provided on the table.  Satisfying meat to veg ratio. The thin crust in the center portion gets soggy so eat it quickly.  1-2a)  Chianti, Fèlsina Classico Reserva, Sienna, Italia which usually denotes Sangiovese grape varietal. Dark red black, bouquet is earthy, brandied cherry.  Tastes of sweet dark cherry, blackberry. Heavy, strong bodied tannin raspy, agrodolce, dry acidic, woody oak, medicinal creosote. Dark fruit finish, lingering bitter tannins.   3) Limited by time, I was about to skip dessert, but the friendly waitress suggested taking it out. Tiramisù is Savoiardi lady finger pastry soaked in Espress, layered w/ whipped Mascarpone cheese & heavy cream.  Drizzled w/ chocolate syrup & snow white powdered confectioners' sugar, sliced red strawberry, green,  mint sprig. Pairing this w/ extra dark coffee or Espresso would be ideal.  Divina means divine in Italian. It may be the best Italian in the Montrose - Crescenta Valley area.  4- stars read more

This is the third and last time I will order from this place. It's a terrible restaurant. You go there it takes them an hr and half to serve the food and it's subpar at best. I ordered on door dash and every time I get cold food and always without exception missing an order! Lasagna is almost $30 for three layers of green pasta smothered with melted cheese and red sauce. Chicken is always wet and oily, arugula always wilted. Taste is terrible. It used to be better but has gotten worse with time. I absolutely don't recommend this place especially for the ridiculous prices. read more

My partner and I chose this restaurant after months of separation because the ambiance looked so sweet and romantic. The service was slowwww, like wait half an hour for a glass of wine slow. The food was mediocre, the veal was overcooked, needed to basically yank it apart to eat it. And the server caught an attitude when I asked to please cancel the wine that never came (that I ordered to pair with the veal.) The accompanying vegetables were hospital equivalent- unseasoned, barely cooked, and so obviously just recently thawed. Maybe a good place for if you're watching your cholesterol intake, you don't have to worry about things being too flavorful. lol. Would not come back. read more
