Beet /gin cocktail pretty good and hello a little healthy
    Dee B.

We had a waiter named Brenden who was great and offered suggestions. The manager stopped by the table and chatted with us. All the food we had was good and unique. It was a little loud inside, but the seating was good. We will go back when we want something different and in the area

Very good! Got the cheeseburger with an egg and candied bacon in it- so full of flavor. The real winner was the wings and the jalapeño potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Staff were extremely friendly and the mule was perfect! Only thing is I asked for a medium burger and got a well burger. But flavor of the burger made up for it.

Doc B's is a nice find in Tampa, particularly if you are in town the night before an early morning flight. It's near the airport hotels, and we had a great meal and experience. They have a lovely patio; it was a little chilly, so we opted for indoor dining. The interior is welcoming and warm. The menu is very elevated bar food and favorites -- crispy chicken sandwiches; creative burgers; very nice salads; good appetizers. Our server, Zoe, was just lovely, and helpful. Bonus for those with gluten allergies -- nearly everything on their menu is gluten free, including the fries. Woohoo! We started with the grilled California artichoke hearts, which were tender and smoky. Excellent. My husband had the buttermilk fried chicken, which he said was absolutely delicious -- he was mad he couldn't finish it all, and kept picking! I had the Wright chicken sandwich, which was also crispy and delicious, and I was all too happy to be able to have a few french fries! If we find ourselves in Tampa again, we would definitely seek out Doc B's.

This place checked all the boxes. After shopping inside the mall all day we wanted to eat outside, and you can't beat the convenience of Bay Street. They gave us a great table outside on the patio, primed for people watching. The menu offered plenty of gluten-free options. Our server was delightful and her recommendations were on point. Our cocktails were crafted perfectly. I was quite impressed by the Crazy Beautiful (straight up with Vodka, elderflower, and spiced pear). The chimichurri chicken wings were amazing. The #1 Tuna Salad (seared ahi, citrus ponzu, field greens, cucumber, avocado, mango, ginger dressing) was very fresh and flavorful. My date enjoyed his Wok Out Bowl with teriyaki chicken. I sampled a bite of it and thought it was delish. Overall a flawless first visit.

Was at international plaza today and stopped into Doc B's for lunch. Pleasantly surprised on how good it was. Wife got a cheeseburger and it was cooked to a perfect medium. I got the oven roasted wings. They were excellent. Not a crispy wing but delish nevertheless. Basically a roasted wing tossed in a Chimichurri sauce with grated cheese on top. They were tender and a nice size. I also got the cucumber salad. Basycsjy a great salad of cucumber, onion, dill, feta and a few tomatoes. Service was excellent. We will be back.

Wok out Bowl the broth saved the day.

So after a Saturday of shopping we decided to tryout Doc B's. The decor nothing spectacular looks just like any typical diner. The see through windows so you can see the kitchen staff working pretty cool. As far as the food no seasoning no taste, it seems they use all these sauces to cover up the lack of seasoning in there meats. I had the fried chicken which had 5lbs of batter but no flavor, my wife had a wok out bowl the broth saved the dish because again no seasoning. The traditional burger lacked seasoning as well. Overall if you're into non seasoning or flavors then this is your spot to be in. Coming from a family that uses seasoning (healthy options) we know what flavor should taste like not use sauces as an excuse to not add any flavor. This is definitely off my radar when visiting International Mall. I've seen so many establishment come and go. This place may have another 2 years in them.

    Teriyaki wings. Perfect presentation.

I had eaten here a few months ago and it was really good. We were excited to eat here. Today- we started with teriyaki wings. Presentation was fabulous. Half of the wings were great. Flavorful sauce. Crunchy outside and tender, fresh, hot inside. The other half tasted like last week's wings that had been saved and warmed up today. My wife got the brunch French toast and it was great. I got the brunch cinnamon roll pancake and sent it back because it was overcooked so bad. Then I got the causal chicken wrap. Everything about it was good- except the chicken was very dry. The fries were good. The service was great. Quiet, clean restaurant.

Doc B's is one of those places that just gets it--great food, great service, and a vibe that makes you want to hang out a little longer. We sat on the patio, and it was so cute. Comfortable, relaxed, and perfect for brunch--definitely added to the overall experience. The service was friendly and attentive from start to finish, and everything came out in a timely manner even though the restaurant was busy. Now for the food, because wow. We ordered the cinnamon roll pancake, and when I say it's humongous, I mean it. It was big enough to split between four people, and it was still more than enough. Fluffy, warm, and completely indulgent, topped with syrup and icing that pushed it straight into dessert-for-breakfast territory. For my entrée, I got the chimichurri flank steak with breakfast potatoes and two eggs, and it did not disappoint. The steak was super tender and paired perfectly with the chimichurri. The sauce was fresh, vibrant, and very herby--full of flavor without overpowering the dish. The breakfast potatoes were crispy and satisfying, and the eggs rounded everything out nicely. Between the cute patio seating, solid service, generous portions, and consistently delicious food, Doc B's is a brunch win. I'll definitely be back

Conveniently located in the International Mall, Doc B's offers a solid menu in a modern setting. Our server was friendly and attentive. The menu choices and food quality are very good and better than most of the other restaurants in the mall. Overall a good experience and I would recommend Doc B's if you're at the mall and want a bite.

    California salad with salmon. AMAZING
    Travis S.

Overall solid food with excellent flavors this is my favorite restaurant for anything easy and delicious. My go to lately has been the California salad with added salmon. That salad is one of my tops from any restaurant I have been to, there are so many little good things in it. Also the fried chicken is amazing as it's all dark meat. The steak sandwich is also fantastic as it's an actual piece of steak. For appetizers the candied bacon is incredible but has a little bit if you're not good with spicy. Th guacamole with sweet potato chips are incredible too. Really you can't go wrong with anything. They have a beautiful covered outdoor patio when the weather is nice. You won't be disappointed.

The food was pretty good, there were so many options I couldn't decide what to get. The only thing I was disappointed in was the sweet potato fries. They were not traditional and not crispy. Anyways it was overall a good meal and I really enjoyed the sauces.

This is our go-to spot for a bite on lengthy shopping days. They've got something for every mood and time of day. Everything is always as good as or better than expected. Service is always quick and pleasant.

Wok bowl with tofu and brown rice
    Deanne E.

I came with my family last night. We sat on the patio and we got great service. I was impressed with their guacamole appetizer, it was very tasty and came with house made sweet potato chips which were delicious and I liked that they were not your classic tortilla chips. Seeking out their vegan options, I really appreciate that they have tofu. I got the wok bowl with brown rice and tofu. It was pretty good, but I got it a couple years back and I feel like I remember liking it more last time. Not sure if anything was different or maybe I had it built up in my head but I think it lacked luster. Besides that, a cool spot. Music was a little loud but it wouldn't keep me from coming back for the guac

This place is fresh and healthy and makes you feel good about eating good. The first time I was here, it was a gorgeous "Florida winter" day so we sat outside-lunch on the large patio. This time, with a different group of friends, we were inside-on a Saturday evening. Glad we had a reservation. Because it was bustling and humming. But the vibes were still happy and healing. (As were the cocktails! The spicy pineapple margaritas are fantastic!) My fiends each ordered something different: a burger for one, a salad for another and a pizza for yet another. They were each delighted with their choices. I went for two appetizers: the charred cauliflower... which was excellent (those dates!) and a seasonal butternut squash soup that was unforgettably good-it satisfied both stomach and soul. One friend savored a Manhattan and two were all into the lavender matcha. Four completely different palettes but the same happy feeling. This was a good choice (thanks, Michelle) True Food Kitchen prides itself on fresh, quality ingredients and you can taste it. The menu isn't huge, but the variety is good and the flavors are tremendous. The interior is bright, with lots of windows and interesting seating. It was a little loud in there, but that's to be expected on a Saturday. I don't remember if there were desserts-we were so full, I don't think we even looked. I owe it to myself to go back and check. Midtown is so easy to park at (free garages!). And you can walk off your calories at the nearby shops (sadly, William Dean chocolates is closing this location, soon) I'll be back soon!

I consider Ponte to be more upscale and not pretentious. It is one of the better restaurants I've been to in Tampa Bay. The bread options were splendid and quite toothsome. Our early evening dinner was fantastic. Excellent service, excellent food and everything we would expect from a fine dining experience curated by the family-owned The Ponte Group. We're big fans of On Swann and Olivia and have had Ponte Modern American on our list for a while. We arrived to Midtown and were ready for our dining experience. We received a friendly welcome into the light and airy entrance. We were escorted along white cloth covered tables to the spot where we would dine. Our server was around quick and started on drinks for us. The cocktail menu offers classic and modern versions of some of the most common drinks. I love an old fashioned and opted for the "modern" version. Instead of bourbon, it was made with Japanese whiskey, kokuto, which is considered to be the world's healthiest brown sugar and black walnut bitters. It had depth and flavor and a flair that made it stand out compared to the classic drink. My wife had a mocktail. It was light, sweet and hit the spot she said. We didn't order any starters but a man with a variety of fresh breads came around multiple times. He offered up as much as we would like, everything from sourdough to focaccia and beyond. My favorite was a black olive sourdough. The Chef also sent out a small espresso cup filled with his signature mushroom soup. At first a little confused, I eventually got bold with it and sipped this like I was sipping coffee. It was really good. Thick, rich and flavorful. The white mushrooms and earthy truffle creme made this a hit. I could have had a whole bowl of this but soup just isn't my go-to. Between the cocktail, bread and soup, this dinner was already starting out pretty fantastic. For our mains, I got the house specialty Beef Wellington. My wife got the boneless short ribs entree. Our food arrived and we were ready to dig in. Like most elegant dining experiences, you can expect top notch food, smaller portions and a focus on presentation. My Beef Wellington was served medium rare. It was wrapped in salty prosciutto, mushroom duxelles and had a little extra depth, foie gras. The duck liver added texture and a buttery flavor that melded with everything well. The earthy minced mushrooms had an array of pointed subtle flavor. I appreciated the classic take on a classic dish, that had a hint of flair that worked so well. The red wine demi glas was an excellent dipping sauce and added to the overall presentation with it's dark red smear on the plate. My wife highly enjoyed her short ribs. The tender beef was rich in flavor and paired well with pureed potatoes and an apple slaw garnish for a hint of sweet with a little spice. We also shared a side dish. The campanelle mac and cheese. This was rich, creamy and an excellent Mac and cheese side that we would definitely get again. While we didn't order dessert, they did send out three small sweets. A mini key lime custard, dark chocolate and a small chocolate chip cookie. All of them were sweet and tasty. A nice little finish. Our dinner at Ponte was great. From the service, to the food, to the ambiance and experience, all maintain that level of elegance and modern that make it what it is: a restaurant you should eat at.

The space is big with lots of natural light coming in which I loved! Bathrooms: They have restrooms for men and women. The women's restroom had two stalls. The bathroom was pretty clean. I didn't like the coloring of the bathroom, it would make me crazy if I had to sit in there for a long period of time. Service: The minute we walked in, we weren't greeted by anyone and we just looked around because we'd never been here before. It took about a minute or two for someone to help us get a table. The rest of the service was good overall. Our food came out quick. I do wish the happy hour options were explained to us when we sat down, we had to ask our waiter to explain it to us. Food: I'd say overall their food is good, it's not the best I've had in Tampa. If you want to come for a decent brunch and drinks this is a good spot. We tried the 'potato latkes' as an appetizer which was really good. I had their 'Smashburger' for my entree which was good, but I've had better. I did like their fries. The drinks were the best part! I had their 'Pink Hugo' which was really good and my friend had their 'Green Machine' which was delicious. Overall the food was good, but nothing amazing to me. Maybe I didn't order the right thing. I'd be willing to come back and try their brunch options as that seems to be what people like the most. Overall, it's a good place to come for lunch with a friend. It wasn't super busy on a weekday, so you don't need a reservation. The prices are decent, but everything in Tampa is more pricey now. **Parking Tip: they have a VERY small parking lot for customers behind the building. There is a larger gravel parking lot behind the building where you have to PAY to park. It was around $6/2 hours, I'm not sure if it's more expensive at different times. Try to look for free street parking in the area if their free lot is full before going to the paid lot! Or if you can car pool with friends do that!

We were seated at a super small table so it made for an uncomfortable situation with so little real estate available. Also the place looks like it's converted from a garage or something with metal walls and roll up doors that made the sound bounce around. The service was nice. We were well taken care of but they seemed to be spread thin because getting refills and getting our check took a bit longer than expected. One ssue was that the menu was very different from what was online via Google. I should have gone to their website I guess, but several items were not available and the filet I was so excited for had a very different set of items. No Brie au gratin potatoes or braised rainbow chard, citrus gremolata and a fig chutney. Now, let me say that my filet was delicious. I loved the sauce and the asparagus was good but for me, the potatoes were super underwhelming. A nice sauce or something would have made them better. They just tasted bland, were really dry and lacked any flavor. My wife expected the lamb or pork chops, they were both not on the menu. She got fish and chips which she really enjoyed, so it was a win. The Asian wings were our appetizer and were delightful too. Now the only real negative for us was the noise. We got there at 5:30 and it was fine. But as more people came in, the sound bounced around so bad that it became almost unbearable for me. I wanted to go so bad because people laughing and talking made my head hurt. Would I go back? Probably not. I didn't enjoy how loud it was. The food was very good though, so perhaps takeout would be more my speed. We had a nice meal and my leftovers were delicious later that evening.
