The ambience is wonderful. Outdoor heaters, beautiful view. Only saw server twice, one to take order and waved her down to get check. Then had to go find her to pay. Pizza took 30 minutes to come out, had to take it to go. When server came to give check I still hadn't gotten pizza and she said wow that's taking a long time. Should have been comped for sure. Came to have a burger which I would not recommend. The service was good just not the food. Something very spicy on the fry's. The server checked with the cook who did not season fry's. Hmmm! Food = poor. Service = ok. Ambiance = good. We ordered from the restaurant week menu. The clam chowder was bland. Our steak arrived after an hour and was poorly prepared. We ordered one medium-rare and two medium. The medium-rare steak was the most well done and cold and the two mediums were super raw. The mediums were sent back and came back 10 min later almost no better (we have no idea what they did to them) and were not edible. The dessert was funny. It was supposed to be chocolate crème brûlée. That wasn't what we were served. We pointed that out and the server corrected us that we were wrong and that it was! One of us put a fork into whatever it was and they pulled our paper! The waiter came by and said "that's not crème brûlée!" We laughed at this point. He brought the chocolate crème brûlée out. The Ambiance was amazing and the service was great however the food was So-So. My husband ordered a Manhattan and tasted nothing like a Manhattan and for the price was just no good. He order the ribeye was was over salted otherwise very good. I ordered a seafood dish and the shrimp was bad, had a very funky taste. They did remove it from the bill which was very nice bc I did eat most everything else in the dish(I had tried the shrimp last) over all I really enjoyed just wasn't impressed with the food read more

For Christmas Eve dinner, the waitstaff was friendly. The meatloaf and chicken dinner options were unavailable at my 6:30 pm reservation. It left me with only a few options to choose from. The server offered me the bar menu for Christmas Eve dinner due to the need for more options. Not my idea of a satisfying holiday dining experience with my family, but we tried to make the best of it. The crab cake was better than the scallops, but the scallops were bland, and the potatoes served on the side tasted "off." The lemon meringue pie tasted satisfying for dessert, but the chocolate caramel pudding needed better ingredients. read more

We are from NH and this year and last year rented a apartment in the Gaslamp Quarter for 3 1/2mos. This week we were a party of 6 plus a one year old. One person in our party had been here recently and had the Sea Bass and highly recommended the restaurant. The Sea Bass was a disappointment this time. Three of us had the Paul's Meat Olay which was so dry it most have been left over from the previous weekend. All three of the meat loaf diners did not finis their meal and were hugely disappointed. Should have just gotten their hamburger which the hostess recommended. Don't waste your money. read more

It's a beautiful setting and the food was good. The only annoying part was how loud it is. There are metal tables with metal silverware in a concrete patio that also has a glass partition to keep in the sound. It was hard to talk above it all. read more

We visited last sat for brunch to celebrate me nephew's 18th birthday. We had a large party of 20. I understand how difficult it can be to have a large party and possibly the restaurant was understaffed but if does not give the server any right to be straight out RUDE... I used to be a server so i understand it can be crazy. The view is great. Food was good but the service could learn some customer service. 3 incidences that made our server flat out rude. I wanted to say something I was upset that she was getting the mandated gratuity for a large party but my cousin. Nephew's father did not want me to say anything. 1. When dropping off food several family members were asking for items. Extra plate, napkins, etc... Servers response: everyone wait til I put down everything then I'll answer your questions 2. My aunts sprite came out flat the carbonation needed to be replaced.. my aunt asked for another one. Servers response: obviously that didn't work out pick out something else. 3. My cousin wanted ice cream. She asked if they had any. Servers response: do you see it on the menu?. No then she responded again look at the menu AGAIN... I understand you can be busy. Had dinner here in celebration of my mom's birthday and was very pleased with service, food and view of bay. Although we had a reservation we did not make any special requests for seating but hostess was sweet enough to give us an the option of sitting at a regular table or table with fire pit, we chose regular table to eat comfortably. Then, to start we had oysters, (we asked for them raw instead of baked as shown on menu) they were smooth and sweet. For the main course, I had the rib eye steak with broccoli in place of potato, onions and mixed greens. The steak was seasoned well although just bit too salty on the ends. For dessert we had the puff pastry with cream filling and caramel sooooo good! The waitress made sure to add a candle and let us know it was on the house as it was a bday celebration. Thank you! All in all, good vibes. Brought our own wine, $14 corkage fee. The restaurant has indoor seating as well as a outdoor patio. If you're like me and enjoy sitting outside with a good view, I definitely recommend requesting the patio, plus there are multiple heaters that will keep you warm. read more

When you pay $48 for a steak , you expect something nice , steak was cooked incorrectly, the shaved carrots were a complete failure with the dish . Never mix a cold dish with a hot dish , the plate looked like a diner one , service was just okay although the restaurant wasn't crazy busy , and as far is know in every restaurant, first thing to be asked about is the water , had to ask and wait for 10 minutes after food for water , this place had potential but needs more effort read more

If only I could leave zero stars! Was here a year ago fantastic food and the menu I'd leave 5 stars to that chef. Back here today menu changed and the chef changed food tasted disgusting. The only thing eatable was clam chowder. Sea bass was nauseating they didn't even know it was Chilean sea bass which is cooked totally differently. Ceviche and poke was disgusting as well. My husband and I ate dinner at Dockside last week. Honestly, everything tasted great except for my Shrimp pasta dish that I chose for dinner. The shrimp were tasteless. The sauce had a very strong, unappealing flavor that was overrun with some spice that we couldn't figure out? I'm not a picky eater, and I love shrimp and pasta, but I honestly, did not like this dish. I took a couple bites and packed up the rest to bring home. read more

If you haven't been to the Bahia lately you should definitely go the Dockside 1953. Newly renovated and beautiful patio on the bay. Awesome food. Perfect service. Great fire table seating.
