DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!! The spring on my home sectional garage door broke and I found a sticker on the door from Doctor Garage, I called and Jim said he could be out by the end of the day. When he first arrived, he asked if he could use our restroom after about 15 minutes he emerged, if you know what I mean! He said he could fix the spring for $350. so I agreed however he started throwing things around in the back of his van and I heard him mutter this will do. I left him along for a bit and when I went back into the garage, he had installed a much smaller/shorter spring, he said it would be fine. He also moved the center brace to accommodate the shorter spring so now the rod bounces every time we open the door. At the end he said he did not have his receipt book and would email or text me a receipt. I have attempted to call him so many times to get a receipt that he now will not answer. AVOID THIS PLACE. First off let me start out by saying, I did not choose this company, my property management did. The person that came to look at my garage, his name is Jim. Absolutely horrible customer service. My garage door was working perfectly fine. Opened and closed no problem. The only issue I had was one of the sensor was not working anymore. Either due to old/worn out state or it just died. Either way the garage door was opening and closing still. In comes Jim who legit did not even inspect it. He just opens it and notices that it doesn't close with the remote (due to the sensors) and says that one of the gears in the motors is broken. Like what?? How?? So what he does, he screws some sort of metal rod in the middle of the garage door, and get this. The garage door DOESN'T OPEN OR CLOSE anymore. He literally left it worse than when he found it. Like how?? When my father asked him he's pretty sure it's the sensors if he can take a look at the wiring. Jim literally gets upset at my father and claim "no, I already told you it's the motor!" And just took off. What kinda business talks to their clients in that manner, makes the problem worse than before and just leaves?? What kinda service is this!? I called back my property management to tell them what happened and if they can send someone else to inspect it. I informed them I'm sure he is just trying to upcharge what services are needed in order to make a quick buck.They have reported and written my complaint about this wacko who apparently can't tell the difference between a broken sensor and a broken motor. If you want incredibly rude customer service, someone who makes your problem worse and will upcharge, and someone who will talk back to you. Than by all means, go with this lousy company. But if you want an actual professional to go to your residence or place of business to get actual service, than look elsewhere, cause this place is definitely not it. TLDR: Jim is incredibly rude. He completely disrespected my father; yelled and used derogatory and demeaning language the entire time. He also threw a fit because my father's assistant was also doing work in the garage and I guess Jim "doesn't like to be watched while he works" so he threatened to leave without finishing the job. You'd think he was a child from what I've mentioned but this guy is a fully grown adult throwing tantrums and yelling at his clients. When my father's assistant confronted Jim about his behavior, his only response was "that's just my personality" as if that somehow justifies the way he treated my father. This place is completely unprofessional. Our garage got a service done in February. We have proof of it being done on the exact date along with the proof that there is a five-year warranty on the parts and labor. We proceeded to tell the owner that our garage was not working how it was supposed to be. He told us that the warranty is over. We were confused and were telling him how it has not even been a year yet and why there is no warranty. However, the owner decided to get defensive out of nowhere. And started to curse over the phone with a bunch of profanities and inappropriate (sexual) comments regarding members of my family who are elders. I don't even feel comfortable writing any of those comments because it is so disgusting and inappropriate that should not have been said. We had a problem with our sectional garage door about 5 years ago. I went online looking for repair estimates. The first service said the door had to be replaced as it was not repairable. Also the second door would have to be replaced because it would not match the new door. Cost estimate: about $3200. I sought a second estimate. Very pleased with service. My garage suddenly went off kilter over the weekend and it would not close properly. My neighbor and i spent about an hour putting rollers back in place only to have others fall out and the garage door was still hanging crooked. We concluded that the springs were broken. He did this and, sure enough, the horrific screeching stopped. He ran the door up and down several times to make sure the problem was fixed. He then explained to me how the door actually works and what to watch out for that could cause problems in the future. He did state that it looked like my door had not received any maintenance in 'a while'. He was right...."Who knew it needed any?" He said it should be inspected and lubricated once a year. Needed automatic garage door was broken to be repaired, stocky young man showed up saying badly damaged requiring new parts to get it back 2 PM never returned nor phone call. Jim was at my house on time, he programmed the garage door to my car in less than 5 minutes. He also helped me program my MyQ to my smartphone. I had installed the sensor and the other device that has the infrared.
