Maybe I had high expectations of this place but being one of high rated restaurants i was super excited to try this place. Having lived in Alhambra, I have gone to the previous place in the same place. They had great noodles ans wonton. Boy do I miss that place. Circling back here, we ordered mapo tofu, chicken kababs,, a uyghur naan, and a pulled noodle dish. The spice levels here is nice and the portions are okay. I didn't think the map tofu was a must get. It tastes different than your traditional Chinese version and yet it has heat like the szechuan peppercorns. It came lukewarm like the rest of the dishes. The only server in the restaurant never came back to check on us the whole hour we were there. So we never had refills on water. The best things here were the naan and the hand pulled noodles. Perhaps I would just get those togo if I ever wanted this place again.

Finally made it to Dolan's! A homey experience with friendly staff! My first time trying Uyghur cuisine and likely won't be my last! For the two of us, we ordered 3 of their most popular items. + Big Plate Chicken - the small is BIG haha. We chose the bone-in and the chicken was juicy. It is a very savory flavor so the handmade noodles are a must (I wish there was more). + Lamb Kebabs - the menu says a minimum order 3, but they were kind enough to just let us get 2. A large stick, and very lightly seasoned but cooked well. + Uyghur Goshnaan - My favorite dish, like a meat pie. The crust was flakey and the inside meat was juicy and flavorful.

Came with a bunch of friends and got a little bit of everything. The dishes at this place are so big so everything is very shareable. Service was nice and friendly and there is parking in the lot or in the neighborhood streets. If you park in the neighborhood streets you can also enter through the back entrance. Their spice level is pretty spicy so would recommend mild or medium. The noodle plate is always a favorite of ours. Even if you can't finish, the orders are just as good the next day as well. Highly recommend this place.

Dolan is a good choice for lunch or dinner. Their menu features beef, lamb, chicken and vegetarian dishes. I liked the decor with art displayed throughout the main dining room. It gives the restaurant a classy look. The table and chairs were made of mahogany, they use linen tablecloths which is an added touch of elegance. I ordered the beef hand-pulled noodles, which was flavorful and had a spicy kick. It was delicious and filling. I was dining solo, but recommend coming with a group to try a variety of food. I really was interested in the Kebab and soups, but it was too much food for one person. The entree prices range from $15 to $20 for lunch and $30-50 for dinner. You can pre-order meals on their website for quick pickup or delivery service. They also have a nice patio dining area and a private parking lot in the back. Sincerely, Rosemary

Love the deep, rich flavors at this place. it really sparked my interest in learning more about Uyghur culture. We came with a large group, and the waiter was attentive and provided quick service. Fried Naan with Beef - Crispy naan topped with beef, onions, and cumin. It was a bit oily and felt more like a side dish, but extremely tasty. The onions and crumbs paired especially well with rice. 8/10 Large Big Plate Chicken - Our server recommended ordering the large size for the group. It was just OK. The flavors were lacking compared to the other dishes, the chicken wasn't as juicy or tender as I hoped, and it came with thick flat noodles and quite a lot of potatoes. 7/10 Lamb Kebabs - Tender, flavorful lamb served on hot skewers. Simple and delicious. 10/10 Uyghur Polo with Lamb - A lighter rice dish that was still full of flavor. The rice paired beautifully with the lamb. 8/10 Samsas - Flaky pastries filled with beef. They reminded me of a mix between empanadas and samosas--very satisfying. 9/10 We also ordered the special tea served in a pot. It was very enjoyable and the perfect hot drink to balance out the heavier, richer dishes. Overall, a flavorful and memorable dining experience.

Ambiance is unique and authentic feel. Clean and nice layout Service is great, and I like the tea pot set! Food was ok to me, not as strong flavor as I expected, it might be adjusted to fits the taste of American for sure! I nit sure if it's because we didn't ordered right stuff, lamb skewers, 手抓饭(Pilaf), big plate Chicken fried noodle

I liked it. Came in for dinner with a friend. Inside is bright and comfortable. Lightly decorated. Plenty of tables. Good for small groups. We got the traditional laghman noodles, gosh nan, and lamb kabobs. The kabobs were good. We liked the noodles and gosh nan, but we both agreed it could have used some extra spice for our taste. Would come back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. Small parking lot in back.

We came here because we enjoyed the Rowland Heights location and wanted to give the Alhambra one a try. First off, it's a simply beautiful restaurant, very stylish overall. In terms of service, it was just okay. We never had our water refilled, nor did we get any check-ins after the food was ordered and dropped off. The food itself was also just alright at best; it didn't hit the same as the other location. Here's what I tried: Fried Naan with Beef - Interesting dish, almost like a fried baguette loaded with cumin. The beef was good, but the flavors quickly became overbearing and too strong for my taste. Very carb-heavy. (3.5/5) Spicy Fried Rice Noodle - Looked great at first but also became overwhelming. The sauce was extremely salty, and I usually love salty food, but this was too much. The noodles themselves were good, though. (3.5/5) Lamb Kebab - My favorite dish of the night. I didn't love that you have to order a minimum of three skewers, but the flavor was great. Be warned: the metal skewers are hot. (4.5/5) Overall, we were disappointed with what we got. We paid $52 for what I'd consider pretty average-tasting food, and unfortunately, I don't think I'd come back, at least not to this location.

Some of the best quality noodles in SGV can be found here. The big plate chicken dish here is just decent as the chicken was okay, sauce was okay, and the potatoes didn't have that stir-fried flavor and I've had better renditions of this dish in Chinatown Manhattan/Flushing. However, the wide firm noodles in this had the perfect texture and are some of the best noodles I've ever had. I also loved the noodles in the Special Laghman Noodles and the flavor in this reminded me of that of a liang pi dish. The lamb kebabs here are decent but don't beat the ones at some of the kebab-focused restaurants in LA.

Such a charming and cozy place with great vibes from the decor to the music. Service was quick, friendly, and no nonsense. The food was the true star of the show. Every dish was on point and amazingly delicious. You must try the polo and the salted milk tea.

Visited: December 2025. Monday ~6:30pm. Setting: Spacious. Traditional decor and looks classier than your average restaurant. The tables are covered with disposable paper to protect the cloth underneath. They play Uyghur music at a reasonable volume so you can still have a conversation while listening. Wait Time: None. A few tables were taken when I arrived, but I was seated immediately. Food/Drink: This was my first time trying Uyghur cuisine. I cheated by picking things sort of familiar to me. The portions were generous. - Mapo Tofu ($13.95): Served HOT and with the right amount of numbing spice. It was just what I expected! - Tomato Eggs Laghman ($14.95): My first time having laghman. It had quite a chewy texture which I grew to like. The tomato egg sauce was perfectly sweet and tangy and the tomato and egg pieces were conveniently cut into bite sizes. - Plain Rice ($2.75): A bowl of long-grain rice. Pretty big scoop! Service: Awesome! The waiter was so polite and quick despite being the only one manning the front. I noticed after ordering with him that you can also order by scanning a QR code. That might come in handy when it's crowded. Also, my 2 to-go containers toppled over in the car and not a drop of sauce spilled out. Nice and sturdy. Parking: There are parking lots to the left and right of the restaurant. There were ample spots in the bigger lot (left) at dinner time. Next Time: I'll come back to try the Shredded Potato and Samsa dishes.

I recently learned about an Uzbek restaurant. Apparently there are not many Uzbek cuisine we can find in California. Uyghur food is a fusion mixture of Turkey/Mainland Chinese cuisine. Restaurant has limited parking but plenty of free street parking. There is indoor/outdoor seating. Entire restaurant is ornately decorated in Uyghur pieces. I saw only male employees but I hear that women in this culture cannot speak up. Overall great service. Dinner also comes with complimentary middle eastern walnut desert bites. Food....Big plate chicken is a must try (we ordered 2) a dish marinated to the highest max with potatoes and veggies. This is everyone's favorite. -Uyghur Goshnaan is crispy outside and warm meat savory center. Very good as well -Dolan's special rose tea is a must try. -Manta- 6 Pieces Per Order. Delicious Steamed Dumplings filled with savory ground beef and onion. (this is a popular item). -Kebab noodle- Cold egg noodles paired with our special spicy dressing and beef kebab. Pretty carby if you like -2nd fav- Big plate chicken with extra fat noodles. All the best marinated spices and flavors with savory soft chicken.

Special Laghman was really good! Mild on the spice and delicious. Friendly service and they offered up great recommendations since it was our first time here. Would recommend to anyone in the area to come by!

I am genuinely thrilled to have such an upscale, quiet, and relaxing restaurant right here in my neighborhood. You can truly taste the chef's passion and dedication in every dish. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! Another great thing about Sage is their incredibly generous portion sizes--we left completely satisfied! We finished our meal with a great cup of coffee and the chef's handmade Tiramisu, drawing a perfect, sweet close to our evening. Highly recommend!

I came with a large group of 7 adults and 4 kids on a very busy night, with a crowd waiting outside the restaurant. Despite how packed it was, service moved steadily and dishes came out in a timely manner. Most of the food felt very homey -- the kind of comforting dishes that reminded me of meals my grandmother used to make. That first visit was pleasant enough that I decided to bring my dad back specifically to try their signature Vietnamese lobster dish. Unfortunately, the second visit turned out to be disappointing. We intentionally came for lunch to avoid the dinner rush and were seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant was only about 75% occupied. Drinks arrived quickly, and we ordered salt and pepper tiger shrimp, green beans, and the house special lobster with an extra order of e-mein noodles on the side. Our server briefly returned with a live lobster in a metal bowl, mumbled "4 pounds," and walked away. A few minutes later, the shrimp and green beans arrived along with rice. We ate, waited, and continued waiting. By the time we had completely finished the two dishes -- probably about 25 minutes later -- nobody had checked on us, updated us about the lobster dish, or even acknowledged the delay. We finally flagged down another staff member and asked for the check because at that point the lobster still had not arrived and we were ready to leave. We asked if the lobster could simply be removed from the bill, but were told it was already being prepared. Ironically, the lobster dish finally appeared moments later, the e-mein noodle followed a few minutes later. For what is marketed as their signature dish, the lobster itself was honestly not very memorable. The preparation with green onion and basil was interesting since it was our first time trying lobster this way, but neither the flavor nor the presentation justified the long wait (if that's what it was or just an oversight in the kitchen) or elevated expectations. What stood out more than the food was the lack of service and communication. Delays happen, especially at busy restaurants, but a quick check-in or update would have made a big difference. The restaurant also automatically adds a 12% service charge to the bill. While automatic gratuities are becoming more common, and in this case, I even added extra just to bring the tip up to 15%. With that expectation, there should also be a basic level of attentiveness and customer service. Overall, the food and service felt comparable to a typical Chinese comfort-food restaurant like Sam Woo, satisfying enough for a casual meal, but not particularly memorable considering the Michelin Guide recognition and pricing. Personally, the experience did not justify a return visit. I'd rather go to places like Lunasia or Kim Tar Seafood, where the overall experience feels more polished and consistent with the price point.

The seafood platter (fish nuggets and fries) are so delish too (perfect saltiness) The cherry on top is the ice cream at the end (perfect portion) Service is great- waiters are very kind and always checking in Easily in my top 3 restaurants

I got on the waitlist and ended up waiting almost 45 minutes. When my party was finally called, an employee gave each of us a bowl and told us where to sit. Each person picks their own ingredients, ranging from meats, seafood, veggies, noodles, condiments, broth, and more. There is a big variety of fish balls, vegetables, and noodles, but I feel like the meat selection could have been better. The total cost of your hot pot is based on the weight of your bowl. After weighing your bowl, an employee will take it to the kitchen to cook. Once it's done cooking, someone will bring out the ready-to-eat bowl to your table. I'm glad that when I received my bowl, it was still pretty hot. Many broth options to choose from, but these are my recommended broths: Collagen bone: made with premium pork bones, this is a light and nourishing broth. Signature mala: perfect for anyone who enjoys spicy and numbing Szechuan flavors. Tomato: a refreshing sweet and sour broth with a highly rich tomato flavor. Tom Yum: hot, sour, and tangy, this broth is very aromatic with explosive flavors. At the end of the meal, you can ask for their complimentary ice cream. They only give vanilla ice cream, no other flavors. The ice cream tasted delicious and was the perfect dessert to cool down after eating after hot pot. I really liked the ice cream cone and the smooth, creamy soft serve.

Both were very refreshing, and I really loved the sauce on the bakka salmon in combination with the mint leaves. Since I'm a huge seafood lover, I ordered the Thai royal curry with lobster tail, lime steamed Chilean sea bass and the royal crown fried rice. This was my first time trying curry and I found it delicious, I'd love to visit Star Leaf again specifically for this dish. I really enjoyed the texture of the fish roe on top of the fried rice - I've never had something like this before. I also ordered the truffle wok seared noodles with beef (I liked the mushrooms in this dish). For dessert, I had the Vietnamese coffee flan and the pink mekong. I loved the presentation of the pink Mekong, and the various fruits were yummy. As for the atmosphere, it was very cozy and I took a lot of nice photos in the front of the restaurant by the pond. This restaurant would be perfect for a romantic date night or a lunch with the girls. The service was great - everything was very timely and detail-oriented. Everyone was kind and attentive, I felt very welcome.

I was able to find metered parking on the street; not sure why but I didn't need to pay that day! Upon arriving, we were fortunate that there was no wait time and got seated right away. Their menu was quite extensive so we took some time to browse before we ordered. They had a main menu and also a special menu. We pointed out some allergies to the staff and he helped us work around it. The orders came out quickly and he checked in on us frequently to see if we were okay. Great service! Bakka Wild Salmon - This salmon had a lot of things going on for it, in a good way! The combination of flavors felt very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lime and basil played a big part there. Crispy Short Rib with Lime - Even initially before coming here, this was the dish that caught our attention. I will admit the portion size was a bit smaller than I expected and was even skeptical when it came out. However, without a doubt, this was the highlight of the visit. As someone that loves savory foods, this really hit the spot. The burst of flavors settles in right away. Truffle Wok Seared Noodles - We wanted to pick this noodle dish as a balance to the protein dishes. It did its job but it tasted okay. Not something that stood out. Slow-Drip Vietnam Coffee Flan - I liked the caramel that was layered on the flan, it was crunchy and added a nice texture. It was a nice presentation but tasted okay. Thai Tea - This was my personal drink. It was a standard Thai tea but came with ice cream on top. It was not too sweet but didn't stand out compared to other items. Strawberry Pandan Lemonade - This was my girlfriend's drink. I had a small sip here but found it was refreshing and not too sweet. However, I didn't really get any pandan flavor, mainly strawberry. When it all comes together, it was a good experience. The interior of the story is more dimly lit and felt like a romantic night dinner, despite being the middle of the day. The dishes had a balance of standard and hidden gems. Everything was more than sufficient for two people to share. Service was great and very attentive. Will come back for the Crispy Short Ribs! American Express is accepted here.

This time i almost finished a whole plate to myself. I think if i didnt eat the squid legs i wouldve been able to finish. I still ask for things seared cause seared fish is the best. It looks like they added a dessert menu as well all the way in the back. I wanted to try their clam miso but the salmon plate already came with miso soup and you cant upgrade it. Service is always good, water gets refilled pretty fast without having to ask and if you need anything they get it right away. Parking is pretty decent. But, it turns out this restaurant is Korean Japanese, which is fine. I was greeted by a hostess when I first entered and it turns out she was also the server. She was nice. The restaurant is relatively spacious and well-decorated. The menu was plentiful. The restroom, though, needs updating, but it wasn't dirty. These were the items I got: Skirt Beef & Tempura Bento ($23): It came with miso soup, side salad, rice, teriyaki beef, tempura, 4pcs of CA roll, & 2 pc tempura roll. I think it's actually big enough for 2 people to share. Everything was decent except for the beef. Next time, I think I'll stick to chicken or salmon. 3.7/5 stars Salmon Roll ($9): This was simple and delicious. The portions are small though. 4/5 stars. There is free parking on site. Overall, I think I'd come back to try other dishes.

The server told us to look at the menu when we're ready to order we can go to the front and order with someone once we ordered we were able to find a seating and the server who greeted us told us to sit in where we want so we chose a seating in the back near the drinks fountain. We ordered a premium New York steak dish and a regular beef dish with a drink, and we ended out getting some diet Pepsi. Near the drink fountain was sauce and utensils, which we tried both soy garlic and sweet and sour sauce. When the food came, it was super hot, so be careful when you have a little kids. We had to cut the steak into small pieces to make sure that we can share it together and also mix it with the rice which was in the separate bowl. The other beef dish was easier to mix, and we ended up using the white garlic for both because it tastes the best vs the other sauce. The New York steak was very tender. Definitely enjoy the size portions and loved the variety of vegetables it comes with. My son enjoyed the New York State more than the beef bowl. The place is very nice. I think I really enjoyed how we were able to choose our own seating after ordering. They even had a restrooms in the back, which are very clean.

But recent experience really didn't quite do it for us. The place feels grimy and sticky everywhere, the tables, chairs, and even the doors. I had to wait for the staff to take a 5 minute phone order while I stood at the counter awkwardly. They also rolled out a kids menu, and my daughter was very excited about the pasta option on there because on the drawing it looked like pasta with a tomato sauce. It came plain with bits of dry chicken. Very disappointed. The food from the main menu is still decent but I doubt I would be going back as often as before now.
