We decided to do macaroons as our wedding party favors. Given that we had about 300 guest, we needed 600 macaroons. We shopped everywhere and DoLy gave us the best price. We sample some of their macaroon when we visit them and also tried their sandwiches and salad. Their food and pastries were delicious. We gave Julie and Son our wedding colors and they did a wonderful job matching our wedding colors. We ended up going with salted caramel and some raspberry one (I forgot since the wife picked the flavors). Both flavors were a hit at our wedding especially the salted caramel. I love DoLy's! Great sandwiches (usually get the turkey but have had ham and Cajun Chicken and they are always just as good as homemade) -- all ingredients are super high quality. Plus you get so much food for so little (comes with a little salad and potato salad) - it's enough for my husband and I to split for lunch. However, I can never leave without a sweet treat, macarons are very good (coconut is my favorite so far) and I love the little madeleine's (those are probably my favorite for a regular treat). I've had their croissants as well (plain, chocolate and ham and cheese) all wonderful and buttery. Definitely stop by sometime, it's worth a visit. Their hash browns are AMAZING! Almond cream cheese croissant = delicious Cuban chicken sandwich = pretty good! The potato salad that came with the sandwich, not so great. The lady working was so nice and friendly! Had a great conversation with her as I manage to nab the last almond croissant (as per some other Yelp reviews), a couple of macaroons, and the ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was really good! I didn't eat it right away and heated it up when I got home and it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside! The real show stopper was the macaroons. I got coffee and salted caramel but I wish i got more, they were soooo good. One of the best macaroons I've had and totally worth the hype it has on here. The salted caramel oozed out a bit and the coffee genuinely tasted like coffee. The ham & cheese croissant also was so fluffy and yummy, although I do wish there was a little bit more ham in it. Okay so I love hole in the walls. This doesn't necessarily qualify as a hole in the wall, but it was a bit difficult to find. However, when we did find it, it was worth the hunt. Extremely good...everything actually. We went a little overboard and ordered everything we could. The macaroons were really tasty as were all of the cookies. We went in the morning and the crossants were super delicious. Like...ridiculously delicious. I got the ham and cheese, but the plain was just as good (with their coffee!). Gonna have to come back for more deserts. Oh and their cakes! They're super tasty and are decorated like masters. Seriously you need to come see them, you won't regret it! This place was great! We had lunch, I had the BLT panini style, my only critic would be to add more spinach, but I'm a fan of greens so not everyone would like that. I guess I could have requested it too. D got the breakfast burrito and he was full after eating it though the size wasn't huge so he was happy bout that. We probably looked crazy cause we ordered a dozen macaroons AND a bunch of pastries. We would be leaving Long Beach the next morning around 2am so we knew we wouldn't have time to stop for coffee/breakfast. The macaroons are scrumptious! The pastries were delish. I love to walk to local coffee/breakfast places in the morning with my dog. now that I've been to a few, I feel like I am getting a good grasp on what the better places are. Doly's Delectables is now at the top of my list of places to eat breakfast. Not only is the food absolutely delicious (and rather inexpensive), the staff is very warm and friendly as well. I was standing outside with my dog and one of the employees unexpectedly brought my order to me when it is was ready. The food is simple yet fantastic. I needed 4 dozen macarons in 4 different colors and 5 possible flavors per the bride-to-be's wishes. Julie promptly got back to me on what she could accommodate. Hands down the best croissants you can have in LA! All the baked goods are delicious but their croissants are the best thing on the menu. You can tell that the chef takes pride in them. Light and fluffy! When you go in at the right time and have the fresh off the oven is to die for! This spot is a cute run of the mill little cafe. Although it isn't really anything too special, it's a nice and refreshing "local" spot off the touristy strip and away from grungy coffee shops. The place is clean, and they had pop radio playing. However, why do they keep it boiling hot inside? It was incredibly stuffy and uncomfortably warm. Service was fine, nothing super friendly or anything. As for the food, I wasn't too impressed. I grew up in a French household so I was excited to try the croissant( with spinach inside) ... womp womp. It was greasy, served cold, and there was maybe half a tablespoon of stuff stuck in a glob in the middle. It was yummy, just not what I expected. I also ordered a coffee, and that was very good. I wanted to enjoy this place more than I did, because it's a fun little spot but the food is not on par with the image they're going for. I hadn't visited this café in a while because I hadn't spent much time in the area. However, when I came the other day I liked it. Their WiFi was good and everyone was very nice. Someone had just pulled a knife on me and they were very interested in the story and sympathetic. Their bathroom was clean and usually unoccupied, even though the store had a good flow of business coming in and out. My only suggestion would be to brew some organic coffee and tea, along with offering an organic pastry. They sell a bunch of different pastries and they're seemingly constantly baking. read more

God I love DoLy's! Every time we walk in, we are greeted cheerfully by Julie and Chef. We have a few staples, like my vanilla latte and hash brown and Roo's bacon quiche. However, I love trying all their baked goods. Roo mentioned today that he thinks the macarons might be better than the ones we had in Paris at a fine Patisserie. Now THAT is awesome baking! I love the Cajun Chicken sandwich and salad!!! It's fresh, healthy and quick. As much as I love desserts, I was not a huge fan of their macaroons. During my next visit, I realized that their display of pantries and desserts didn't have doors/covers to keep flies from landing on the desserts. My office recently relocated to downtown Long Beach, and DoLy's has swiftly become my favorite local spot. I'm a little ashamed at how often I've visited in the past month, but I can't resist! It doesn't help that I'm currently eight months pregnant, so my willpower is basically nonexistent. My favorite item is the chicken salad sandwich. Order it on a croissant, and you will not regret it. Awesome pastries made onsite. The coffee is consistently high quality. The sandwiches are really large. Wifi is free and the location has lots of big windows and sun which makes it a chill place to hang out in the downtown without the crowds that sometimes inhabit Pine Street locations.
