**June 2024: Sunday Morning Visit** I've had my fair share of donuts and let me tell you the donuts at The Donut Hub have some of my favorites! They have more of a malasada taste to it, so it's more light and fluffy than a traditional one. I also really like the citrus treats as they add a nice tartness to the bite and balance out the sweetness of the frosting. The Lemon Blueberry is the most popular here, but I really enjoyed the candied orange on the Orange Circle Signature. The shop is simple and clean, and the owners are very positive and friendly. I would be happy to come back and enjoy more donuts here!
Donut hub is close by my work, and I've been meaning to visit the shop. I finally was able to visit the shop on an early Friday morning at 6:30 am. I needed a pick me up, for a work meeting. The donut shop is located on the corner, in a plaza with ample parking. The store is very cozy and spacious. I was the only customer at the shop, and the owner greeted me warmly. I wanted to try their special donuts. Unfortunately, the owner informed me that he only had the lemon blueberry and hibiscus donuts. He had to wait for his wife to come in. Aww bummer, I'll arrive a bit later next time. I ordered a sausage breakfast sandwich on a bagel, and a lemon blueberry donut. He asked me if I wanted the hibiscus donut, but I told him I wasn't a fan of hibiscus. While he was in the back, I sat on one of the chairs. It didn't take long for the food to come out. We had a little chat, since I thought he was Vietnamese. He was telling me a bit about his family background, which was nice to learn. Also, he threw in the hibiscus donut and donut holes in for free. I didn't expect that, but it was greatly appreciated! I enjoyed the flavorful taste of the sausage breakfast sandwich. Also, I liked that the bagels were thick. I only tried the lemon blueberry donut, and I'm in love. The donut was so light and airy, with the right amount of tartness from the lemon. I also enjoyed the fluffy donut holes. The price of the donuts are affordable. I'll be back to try more flavors of the donuts!

Simon and his wife are so friendly and welcoming with big smiles. They go above and beyond to make us feel special! We usually get Boston cream, blueberry, and sugar donuts along with mango smoothie. You can't go wrong with any of their fluffy donuts, but our favorite is the sausage egg breakfast burritos. Perfect combination of salty and savory. No wonder we keep finding ourselves every weekend at this best donut shop in OC!
Donut Hub has the best Donuts and sandwiches in the Orange area! I work across the complex from them and have been getting their food the last 6 years. The donuts are always fresh and the sandwiches are delicious. Simon, the owner, and his wife are both wonderful people and deserve all the support for their small business.
I just can't say enough great things about this donut shop!! Their donuts are ALWAYS fresh, and they also offer breakfast burritos, which are really good, and breakfast sandwiches which are my favorite - and for just a little extra you can get your sandwich on a croissant - YUM! (*Just a note: they put Mayo in their breakfast sandwiches, which I really like - but some might not. So if you're not a mayo person, be sure to ask them to leave it off) They also have smoothies - which I haven't tried yet. Now that it's been warming up, I'll have to give it a try. You can't beat the freshness of the donuts and hot food, but also the friendliness of the owner, Simon. He'll always greet you with a smile and is just a very kind guy! Ok, so I know I have already mentioned this in my previous reviews, but their apple fritters are on point - crispy and sweet on the outside, and moist and apple-y in the middle. And, if you're lucky to get one first thing in the morning, it will also still be warm - YUM!! And also be sure to get a dozen donuts holes if they still have some. They are fresh and light and so tasty!! Enjoy!!
I've had Donut Hub bookmarked for a while now because of the high reviews and the delicious looking speciality donuts, so I was excited to finally be able to try it. Unfortunately, when I went, they completely ran out of speciality donuts already which was a bummer and surprising because it was only noon. I guess this place is just really popular and you have to come early to get what you want. I still ended up ordering the lemon filled donut and I really liked that! Even though it's more of a traditional donut, they do it really well here because the actual texture of the dough somehow tasted better than your average traditional donut. Alongside this, the jelly had more of a natural citrus taste to it instead of an artificial one. This makes me want to try the speciality donuts even more but with that being said, if they're out of those when you go, I still recommend picking up a traditional donut because you won't regret it. The store overall is the size of your average donut shop and is clean and brightly lit with a few seats if you choose to eat there. There were two ladies working there when I went and they were both so kind and sweet. The store is located in a small plaza and finding parking was not a problem.
Reasonably priced specialty donut shop with some interesting flavors. Although not as exotic as Sidecar, this place offers unique flavors at better price, and also carries less expensive traditional donuts. I got Lemon Blueberry, Nutella Bliss, Tiramisu, and Orange Circle. First three were equally good, although I would give slight advantage to Tiramisu for layers of flavor. Orange Circle was my least favorite, even though it's the signature flavor here. However, this is mostly due to me not liking orange flavor desserts in general. I probably wouldn't have gotten this if it wasn't the signature flavor.

This place is a delicious little donut haven before your work day starts. The staff were so incredibly friendly and I was so happy when they offered to heat up my pepperoni and cheese. It's a great little place with a variety of options, and a nice breath of fresh air with anything you might ever want for a quick breakfast fix. If you ever wake up just a little too early for work and can't go back to sleep, I recommend you give this place a shot. read more
They have amazing fresh delicious donuts. First visit because of Yelp. I was greeted by Sam the owner. They made the donut fresh for me because they were all out. My favorite is the lemon with blueberries. Delicious lemon flavored icing on top of a soft melt in your mouth donuts. Not too sweet, just perfect! My kids like the maple bacon. I can't believe I have never stopped by this donut shop until today. We were warmly greeted by the owner who helped guide us with our choices. They have a variety of items on their menu aside from donuts. He recommended the Vietnamese coffee - which was delicious! The sausage burrito was made into a low carb version for me by putting the ingredients into a container without the tortilla. The sausage was the bomb and full of flavor. Last but not least we got a berry cheesecake donut & he threw in some extra donuts for free. How sweet is that! I was a fan of the glazed and berry. I didn't love the berry but I definitely liked it! Next time I would order a different donut since there's such a wide range of delicious looking choices. Overall, I had a GREAT experience. The wonderful customer service was the cherry on top of it all :) I did try this place during the pandemic & it is worth noting that they were following CDC Covid-19 guidelines. The consistent 5 star reviews and compliments about the food and service is a testament to how this donut shop is a true gem in Orange. Every time we've frequented this place, the owners treat every customer like they are the most valued one. They are very friendly, offer suggestions on what to try, and even always offer to make whatever donut you want on the spot. They also typically throw in a free donut with your order. The billionaire donut is perfection for those who love the sweet and savory combo. I've yet to try their other savory breakfast items or coffees, but will definitely do so, if my eyes can ever get past all their delicious donuts! They also offer custom orders - we've ordered a custom dozen unicorn donuts in the past. They are always SO CUTE and picture worthy! You can tell the amount of care they put into making sure each donut looks perfect. Not to mention the taste and quality of the donuts are still top notch. I can only imagine what small business owners are going through during this pandemic, so I plan to at least do my part by continuing to support this place for my donut fix and recommend anyone in Orange to do the same! read more

It was my first time visiting and the thing that stood out immediately was the customer service - seriously the sweetest man was helping me take my order. I came in to a pretty empty case of donuts (which is a great sign of how good the donuts are!) but he assured me that if I didn't see something I wanted, they would make it right then and there. They offer specialty donuts along with the classics. I ordered the blueberry lemon, tiramisu, banana caramel, vanilla cake donut, and chocolate twist. The quality of the all the donuts were exceptional. Blueberry lemon was my fav! The only thing that made my entire experience sweeter was when I opened up the bag with the chocolate twist in it, I was surprised to see a chocolate cruller! He snuck in a free donut! Like seriously, the nicest people own this place for sure. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I love donuts, this place is great! Dare I say better priced than Sidecar and Comparable to Donuttery. The Lemon.Blueberry.Donut! It's a must The glaze so lemony and perfectly tart and sweet and w zest! Fresh blueberries and the front counter ladies were so friendly. They have select specialty donuts and the usual ones too. But why the 4 stars? Let's just say stick To getting donuts I got ham and cheese croissant too. It was under done and more bready than flaky. You want ham n cheese croissant go to Pandor or Blackmarket bakery. read more

This place is awesome! The service is 10/10 and the donuts We ordered the sea salt caramel, white chocolate Oreo, and s'mores donuts. So the Oreo was super light and fluffy and the Oreo whipped cream was fantastic as a filling. Not a heavy donut at all. The sea salt caramel was crazy. It wasn't that gross thin, drippy caramel, but a thick gooey, salty, wonderful top to a great donut. The s'mores donut was sooooo freakin good. The chocolate icing was great, the s'mores and crumbled graham cracker worked perfectly together and I'm SUCH a fan. I'll be back, and everyone should try this place. read more

Incredible donut shop! The best I've been to. The man and woman that work the counter have the best customer service, so friendly and generous! They have a lot of specialty donuts for a higher price but so worth it! They also have cute little sprinkle donuts for kids in Sunday's. Their veggie breakfast burritos have TONS of veggies, I was blown away!! Loaded with avocado too, the best breakfast burrito I've had. Lastly, tried their minty ice coffee today. So YUMMY. And the presentation was so cute, they added a little mint garnish on the top. They also use the best crushed ice. If you know, you know! read more

Cute local doughnut shop. Very friendly staff - they were so sweet and gave us complimentary doughnut holes with our order, which were delicious! The doughnut holes and the lemon blueberry doughnut were so light and airy, fresh, and the perfect amount of sweetness! This place is AMAZING!!! As someone whose parents owned a donut shop for 35 years, I've had more than just my fair share of donuts. I honestly loved my parents donuts the best! That was until I tried the donuts from the Donut Hub! The dough was the perfect texture and the glaze flavor for all the donuts we got were really flavorful. We got the hubiscus, triple berry, tiger claw and the cinnamon roll. Even the next day, the dough didn't even get stale at all. Not sure how they did it, but it stayed super fresh. Only thing was that I wish I could have these donuts on a regular basis, but then I would become diabetic and/or obese lol. Anyways, can't wait to get some more! read more

Note: I originally planned for Donut Hub to be my first review of the year but life happens, like private yelp* events... Delicious, amazing, events. (i.e. - NBRW Eddie V's Prime Seafood) Before I digress any more, I blame Eddie V's 22oz bone-in ribeyes; so good... Okay, back to the subject at hand, these decadent donuts. These aren't your hole-in-the-wall, average donuts, they're w'aaay above average, hole-in-the wall donuts. Day: January 1st What better way to start 2020 than with deep fried, ringlets of dough covered in diabetic decadence! I was headed home after a blurred evening of tequila & debauchery; debauchery & more tequila; drink, pour, and repeat. It was a little after 7:30am, driving southbound down the 5 FWY and thought, "Mmm, donuts... Yes, donuts will be the perfect thing to christen in the new year." Yes, it was 7:30am, I was tired BUT not so much that I couldn't make a 10 minute detour. Yelp* app to the rescue & Donut Hub with a 5 Star rating was just around the corner. As many fellow yelp*ers have mentioned, if you've seen one donut shop store front, you've seen them all... 'But walk inside & be surprised. There was a very nice lady behind the counter helping a couple of customers ahead of me. She walked over, "Can I help you?" I told her that I was going to need some time. It was my first visit to the Donut Hub and not knowing when might be back this way; I wanted to make this visit count... 'And I did. Sam recommended either a ham & cheese croissant or "The Works," breakfast burrito. Great, I'll take both! I opted for the ham, cheese, & jalapeño croissant. (I do like me a bit o' heat.) As far as the donuts go, I ended up: Regular glaze (x2) Bismarck - One of my favorites (Origin: Bismarcken) Bear Claw Tiger Tail Peanut Butter Lover Banana Caramel Lemon Blueberry (Very good) Donut Holes Mocha*** Total cost: Complete blockage of my left ventricle; $32 (+ tip) *See uploaded photos ***- I had originally asked for a Vietnamese coffee (hot) but think she didn't understand me. so when she pointed @ the instant mocha machine I simply said, "Sure, perfect!" There are big things & small things & this little hiccup of a misunderstanding would fall under, "Neither." It's hot, it's coffee, and it'ill do just fine. As I waited for my order, I walked around the shop, snapping photos & browsing. Seasonal pumpkin pie donut; sounded tempting but I think it might've pushed pass sugar coma to OD-ing. I don't know what the lady said to Sam in Vietnamese while I placed my order but it was probably something along the lines of: "We may be able to close early, this guy is ordering everything in the case... 'Most people start the new year eating healthy. Yep, he's gonna die. Happy New Year!" I waited for about a half hour, sipping my mocha. Why such a long wait, you ask?... Well, with exception of the Lemon Blueberry and a couple of others; most of their specialty donuts had been made but that wasn't a problem. Sam asked me what donuts I wanted to try & he would have them prepared. What, donuts on demand? It doesn't get better than this! Well, if I wasn't feeling so hung over; that would make it better. HA! I was just enjoying the morning, watching the DH regulars come in with their newspapers while others took their donuts to go. Fast forward, 30 minutes and $40 later, I was back in the car with a warm box of donuts on the passenger seat; less one regular glaze with its remnants on the corners of my mouth & sprinkled down the front of my shirt. (The very nice lady, threw in a handful of donut holes in case I didn't have enough bad, goodness for a heart attack; thanks for the aloha!) Sitting on the donut box was a small bag with the breakfast croissant & burrito. (Did I mention I wanted to make this visit count?) The "real" food: the breakfast croissant & burrito were great; I would definitely reorder them without pause. Good portions, flavorful, and for the $$, a great deal. The donuts were awesome too but the specialty donuts were a bit rich & sweet for my taste. I'd suggest sharing and have a big glass of ice cold milk nearby. The Bismarck was great but I'm biased. As I was leaving, Sam asked if I wanted my mocha topped off. It was almost empty & I still had about a 25 minute drive; great! Sam recommended his own special 50/50 mix which was made with fresh brewed coffee & the "mocha-matic." Sam said, it has that strong, bold coffee taste but not overly sweet... 'And he was right. Mahalo Sam! If I'm back in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to drop by the DH for another visit but I think I may have met my sugar quota for the next five to six years. My friend asked, you ate all of that? I laughed, "Are you crazy?... 'Not all at once." BTW - My stomach was tore up for the next couple of days but DAMN, it was good. WOW!!! All I can say is... impressive! A hidden gem located in Orange. If you're looking for a delicious treat! This should be your spot! It was my husbands birthday & instead of a cake, I decided to get him some specials donuts. I'm happy I did! I ordered the maple bacon donut & to my surprise, they're freshly made to order Donuts are soft & airy. The maple glaze is delicately sweet & it's topped off with candied bacon... oh COME ON!!! The owner was so sweet & added 2 of their Valentines Day donuts on the house (also delish) Taste ++++ Easy to find ++++ Cleanliness ++++ Customer Service ++++ Definitely my new spot! read more

What a cute donut shop! I came in after the morning rush and they were out of my favorite donuts (cream filled!). I asked about them and the lady behind the counter was incredible - she went into the back and put one together for me, on the spot! She was very kind and I'll be back for that alone. I got the lemon blueberry maple bacon and orange circle. The lady threw in a glazed and sprinkle donuts. Oddly I didn't care for any of the ones I purchased. It was literally covered in icing and was way too sweet for my taste. Of the three I bought, I like the maple bacon. What makes this place good is their donuts are fluffy at 5pm, most places there's a distinct taste difference by the time afternoon comes, and it's not a good distinct. So I'll be back, but just for a basic maple donut, not a heavy icing donut, it was way too much for me. But the actual donut deep inside the icing, was phenomenal. read more

This is my favorite all-around donut shop in OC--and especially when I'm craving interestingly flavored or topped donuts. We just threw a birthday party featuring donuts from a bunch of different top-rated donut shops in OC, and Donut Hub's topped even Sidecar in side-by-side taste tests! Here are the top few reasons why I love Donut Hub: -Donut Hub's FLAVOR VARIETY is impressive. My favorites include: (1) Orange Circle (hands-down my favorite donut of all time and best orange-flavored donut you will find anywhere because it tastes just like drinking fresh-squeezed OJ); (2) Banana Caramel (the only thing missing from this is bacon, but I bet they'd be willing to customize if I asked); (3) Lemon Blueberry (it is super lemony and not the artificial kind); (4) Billionaire (potato chips, need I say more?); (5) Peanut Butter Lover (seriously peanut buttery and perfect mix with chocolate--maybe next time I'll ask to add bananas to this one, or just alternate bites of this one with the Banana Caramel!); and (6) Maple Bacon (best one I've had anywhere as the maple is ooey gooey and the bacon is candied and crispy!). -Donut Hub's QUALITY is amazing. All the donuts are super fresh. The glazes and toppings are created with high quality ingredients (including fresh fruit). And they do not skimp on toppings--they're really packed on! Plus, the donuts keep really well--they're still soft and delicious even after 2 days! -Donut Hub's SERVICE is unsurpassed. The owners are super friendly and highly accommodating. On weekend mornings at least, if they run out of a flavor in the display case, they will make a fresh one for you in the back. They are also happy to make custom orders for parties, etc. And they frequently give you a free extra donut when you make a multi-donut purchase. I've also had their The Works breakfast burrito and was blown away by how tasty, humongous, and packed full of quality ingredients it is. I only wish Donut Hub is closer to where I live, but it's definitely worth the trek from South OC! read more

Saw this Donut spot on Yelp and seeing how it was close by, I decided I had to check it out for myself. The shop itself is small and clean and has an array of different types of donuts. As I was looking the very nice employee asked if I liked Nutella because they were all out of the Nutella donuts but he would make me one fresh if I wanted. Well with me being more of a fruity person I decided to pass on the offer and instead focused on the two fruit donuts the Triple Berry and Lemon Berry. I purchased them both and actually waited until the following day to eat it. However, they were soooooo good. Very moist and light and extremely sweet. Way sweeter than I expected but those of you who love eating sugar directly will LOOOOVE these. Will definitely return but may try some of their less sugary treats. read more

It was that time of the month & I was craving donuts so bad. I live a couple min away & I have always loved this place. The owner is so nice & makes the specialty donuts made to order. I love supporting local business for this exact reason! The best customer service ever. I was trying to tip using the iPad and he was too quick to move forward with it that it didn't go through. He totally deserves it too! He hooked me up with extras and I couldn't love this place even more. Highly recommend!!! So freakin good!! Can't wait to go again read more

5 stars for the breakfast burrito! Don't forget to ask for a side of jalapeño peppers to go w it. The salsa it comes w is a good compliment but that little extra kick is nice and I believe it's house made. Donuts more like 4 stars but rounding it up because it was super fresh and still tasted great a day old. By the second day it showed its age but still delicious and still worlds fresher than day old donuts from other establishments. All the flavors offered sounded tasty so I had a hard time choosing. After a lot of internal deliberation I ordered the lemon blueberry, hibiscus, triple berry, pistachio white chocolate, and Nutella bliss. The texture of the donut reminded me of Krispy Kreme. So airy versus cake like. Some of the flavors were outstanding in terms of balance and some tasty but kind of one note but none were overly sweet. Overall the hub doesn't technically offer gourmet donuts since the donut itself isn't flavored. It's mainly the frosting and toppings on the donuts. So more like a dressed up version of your everyday donut. The lemon blueberry was my favorite out of all the fruit flavors I tried. Great lemon flavor yet it didn't overpower the blueberry. The balance was amazing and I could see why this is among their most popular flavor. The hibiscus and triple berry tasted very similar to each other and didn't really have a distinct flavor on its own that would make it unique. In fact if I did a blind taste test I would have a super difficult time discerning the difference between the two. I wouldn't order these two donuts again. The pistachio white chocolate is really a frosted white chocolate donut with pistachio sprinkled on top. I liked the combo but would have liked an actual pistachio donut covered in white chocolate. As for the Nutella bliss that was my favorite out of my selection. I typically don't love Nutella but it was so tasty. The Hub did a great job creating that frosting and I loved that texture was added via the crushed peanuts on top and little bites of chocolate chip. Truly it was bliss. It's obvious a lot of care is given to the flavor combinations on their specialty donuts and overall in making sure only fresh donuts are served. So I will definitely be back for the breakfast burrito and to try more flavors of donuts. read more
