So happy to have the nearest 24/7 family owned donut shop. Serving the community, especially during COVID, this place is my favorite versus Krispy Kreme and Dunkin. Stopped by here for a lunch treat after hearing so much about them from local Fb groups. To my disappointment, this donut spot is more hype then reality. Tried their mochi donut and a regular donut. Both were dry and inedible without a drink. Their Mochi donut resembled nothing like a proper mochi donut; rather it was bready, tasteless, and dry, to which it should be chewy, sweet, and moist. The donut did not have much going for it either, below average and resembled day old donuts. I've been going here since high school, and their service never disappoints! They were always friendly whenever I came by with my family or by myself. Their donuts are pretty good as well. I recently ordered customized donut letters from them. I've always wanted to do it and decided to give it a shot. I ordered one for my bf as a congratulation gift. The order came in with two boxes: one with congrats and one with his name. It did not disappoint! He loved it :) definitely will get more customized donut letters here! Donut Tree has been around for as long as I can remember. I go here every so often and the donuts and other food are usually good. Last year, I saw on the local Facebook page that they had merch! Black and white shirts available. We had first asked in January 2024, for a small black shirt and a medium white shirt. The lady told us to come back next month. So first week of February we came back and asked, she told us they don't have it right now but to come back next week. So we came back the second week of February and guess what. She said if we could come back next week. So for a while we called every couple weeks to see if they had any before we came but it was always the same answer. We visited in May, she asked if we could come back tomorrow, we called instead and they didn't have it. I thought we'd give them a couple months. Visited in October 2024, did not have it. Visited in November 2024, asked if we could come back the next day. This whole experience had turned me off to ever coming back unfortunately. That and during the last visit, the ham and cheese croissant we ordered did not have any cheese! AND it was cold! The donut was also stale, not what I expected during a Sunday morning. I love supporting mom and pop small businesses, but I'm beginning to feel like they told us to "come back" in a ploy to just get us to make more purchases. Consumers shouldn't be decieved. I found this place through yelp after a long search for a donut place that does custom letter donuts and I have no regrets ordering from them. At first I was frustrated upon picking up my order because I called a day before my niece's birthday to have a custom donut order and they forgot to process my order however as I was about to walk out after asking to cancel my order instead, the lady was very apologetic and promised me my order the same day with a convenient pick up time and to top it off she even offered me a box of donuts on the house as an apology in which I really did not want to accept but she insisted. That right there, is quality customer service, not even because they gave me free donuts but because the effort that they've shown to keep me as a customer has won me over. They prioritized my order for the same day pickup which fortunately worked out for me in the end because I was able to pick the order up after work and on top of that they did an amazing job on the donuts(see picture for reference) and made it exactly how I expected it to come out! It didn't look rushed at all and aside from the nice presentation, they tasted great! He grabbed three donuts I asked for and I handed him my money. He gave me my change and then went back to handling the dough after touching money and not washing his hands. I really do like their donuts here and I would rate them at a 5 BUT the customer service here is terrible. I walk into the store and the owner and/or workers seem as if they don't want customers there. Am I buying donuts from their own personal stash? What's with the bad vibes? If you're looking for rude service and being stared down by an employee as a paying customer then this establishment is for you. It really is disappointing especially in the service industry that a cashier transaction is silent. The cashier rang me up without saying a word to me. Punched in the total and just stared at me to pay up. Didn't even try to tell me the total. I ended up looking at the register for the total and handed the cashier my money. Took my money and handed me change with a stare down. No thank you or acknowledgement for my business. The cashier then proceeded to walk away with a side eye. As a customer I really don't feel comfortable supporting a business who treats their customers like this. There's plenty of MOCHI DONUT establishments which are a lot more friendly that will be happy for paying customers. Secondly, the establishment has a huge sign at the door that customers are required to wear a mask. I had my mask on but the employee had their mask down their chin. Don't expect your customers to abide to your store guidelines if you can't keep a standard with your own staff to keep your customers safe. Last, for $2.50 for one mochi donut, your donuts better be on the level of Mochi Nut or Friendly donuts. The matcha mochi donut was tough in texture and has super hard to chew thru. The cinnamon sugar mochi donut had no flavor.
