I'm a 떡볶이 lover through & through and this measured up to it! I loveeee all of the different options you can get at the bar. I just wish it was self service instead. Loved trying all of the various fun shaped noodles. The spice level medium was great. The sides such as the honey fried chicken and cheese balls were fire as well, and decently priced. There are plenty of tables and seats available, and service was fast!

The concept of making your own tteokbokki was definitely interesting and different from a typical Korean restaurant. It's set up almost like a food court where you get to choose your own rice cakes, vegetables, noodles, and other ingredients to customize your pot, which can be fun if you've never tried DIY tteokbokki before. They also had fried chicken and other side dishes available. That said, the overall experience was pretty average. The tteokbokki itself tasted so-so and didn't really stand out flavor-wise. The fried chicken was also mediocre, and one piece was slightly pink inside which made us uncomfortable. The restaurant itself didn't feel very clean, and the staff seemed more focused on their phones than paying attention to customers. Service wasn't terrible, but it definitely felt inattentive and unprofessional at times. Overall, it might be worth trying once just for the novelty of customizing your own tteokbokki, but it's not really a place I'd personally go back to.

If you're a true K-food lover, you NEED to visit Dookki in Orange County. It's a total game-changer. It's a DIY Tteokbokki concept where you get to pick every single topping and sauce to make your own custom pot. It reminded me so much of the traditional Sindang-dong style back in Korea! Here's what you absolutely cannot miss: * The Crispy Sides: Their fried toppings are NEXT LEVEL. The Sweet Potato Tempura and Seaweed Rolls (Kimmari) are so crunchy, especially when you dip them in the spicy sauce. * Cheese Mochi: Seriously, don't leave without trying these. They are chewy, stretchy, and so addicting. * Soy Garlic Chicken: I was surprised at how good the fried chicken was. The soy garlic glaze is perfection--sweet, savory, and crispy. The portions are massive for the price, and the quality is top-notch. It's the perfect spot for a fun dinner date or a hangout with friends. Definitely my new go-to spot in OC.

When you're craving tteokbokki, this is the spot to go where you can build your own just the way you like it with rice cakes, veggies, meats, noodles, and sauces. I loved being able to choose my own toppings, spice level, and even different types of rice cakes. We ordered the combo, which comes with fried chicken, rice, and drinks and also ordered additional sides to try. Everything was so good and perfect for sharing but they also have single-portion lunch specials.

I custom ordered two pots of tteokbokki one with rose and one with the dooki's best sauces. The dooki's best was my favorite. Flavor profile wise was very savory and spicy. The spice level is a 4/5 but as someone who is sensitive to spice it was definitely spicy but I was able to tolerate. Despite it being harder to eat the flavor was too yummy to stop. I also got the rose which I thought was okay. My favorites rice cakes to add were the corn cheese balls and the special shape. They were soft and chewy. I also love to add the Chinese glass noodles because they soak up for flavors of the soup. The snowing cheese wings were very cheesy with a bit of sweetness. They were delicious but a bit difficult to eat because the cheese power gets everywhere and makes a bit of a mess. The staff were patient with us while we were trying to decide what we wanted to add to our orders.

When I first saw a build-your-own tteokbokki place, I immediately knew I had to try it. I already love eating tteokbokki, so the idea of being able to customize my own bowl and choose exactly what goes into it sounded amazing. One thing that stood out right away was how spacious the restaurant is. It doesn't feel crowded, which makes the whole experience a lot more comfortable when you're picking out your ingredients and waiting for your food. The workers were also really friendly and helpful, which made the process feel easy even if it's your first time building your own bowl. What surprised me the most was the variety of rice cakes they had. I was used to the classic cylindrical tteokbokki rice cakes, but they had different shapes and types, which made the whole experience more interesting. Each one had a slightly different texture, but they were all chewy and delicious, especially once they were cooked in the sauce. Another fun part is choosing your toppings. You can add a lot of different ingredients to your bowl, and it's easy to get excited and want to try everything. Of course, the amount you add depends on the scale they use to weigh your bowl, but it's still really fun being able to mix and match different things to create your perfect combination. The bowl we made ended up being $24.99, which honestly felt worth it considering how much food we got. My friend and I shared it between the two of us, and it was still a lot of food, so it's definitely something you can split if you're going with someone else. The whole experience feels interactive and customizable, which makes it different from a typical tteokbokki spot. Between the variety of ingredients, the spacious environment, and the friendly staff, it's definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving tteokbokki.

Finally found a Dookki with SO many tteokbokki varieties! The best part? You can fully customize your meal - pick your own add-ins AND choose your sauce . From all different types of rice cakes, fish cakes, veggies, meats, sausages, ramen to multiple Korean sauce options - you can create your own signature tteokbokki pot . As a rice cake lover, I was literally spinning with joy This is NOT just your ordinary spicy sauce tteokbokki - the variety is insane! I HIGHLY recommend the Rose Cheese Tteokbokki!! The combination of savory spicy and creamy milk flavors is absolutely criminal It comes with those tube-shaped "article" rice cakes - first time trying them! Super QQ (chewy) and they absorb the sauce even better than regular rice cakes . So soft and flavorful gotta love their crunchy chicken wings. It's good place to chill with friends.

DIY Tteokbokki??? Sounds super fun and creative, right?! Located in Fullerton, Dookki lets you build your own tteokbokki--reminds me of malatang and hong kong style cart noodles. You can choose your base (different kinds of rice cakes), then add veggies, protein, and sauces however you like. We topped ours with our self-picked tteokbokki, and also ordered fried chicken wings and mixed tempura. Highly recommend the Snowing Cheese!!! Super cheesy!! A night of creativity and deliciousness. Dookki has really good food, and that was definitely the highlight of our visit. Everything tasted great, and you can tell the ingredients are solid. The place was also clean and well maintained, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the service was a bit of a letdown. It felt like my wife and I were being overlooked, as other tables seemed to be served before us even though we had been waiting. Service was noticeably slow, and that took away from what could have been a much better experience. It's kind of a bummer because the food itself was great. With more attentive and consistent service, this could easily be a higher-rated spot.

We loved this place in every way. We visited when the restaurant had only been open for a couple of months. Ordering is done at the counter, where you can choose from a wide variety of rice cakes, vegetable, proteins, noodles, and sauces. This was our first time experiencing tteokbokki like this, and it was so much fun. The tteokbokki is served in a large stainless-steel bowl with chafing fuel underneath to keep it hot throughout the meal. The fish cake soup tasted quite decent, and for the price, it's an absolute steal. The gentleman who assisted 'build my own Tteobboki' was extremely kind and patient in explaining the different ingredients' options. Portions are very generous--more than enough for two people. We couldn't finish it and had to take the rest to go. Decor-wise, the restaurant feels fresh and modern. With its clear glass exterior, people outside can easily see how lively it is inside. The wallpaper also suggests the restaurant has branches in another country, which I personally found quite interesting.

yummy food! service to order the tteokbokki is quick and then just wait for the food to cook. i loved the variety of options for rice cakes, vegetables, noodles, meat, and flavor. i loved the chicken wings to dip in the tteokbokki. the vibes are really chill here and ive only gone here during their non busy hours

Every kind of rice cake, bok Choy, and glass noodles. The crunch stuff they add on top-

If you like Tteokbokki, I think this is a must try spot. I will admit I wouldn't consider myself an expert with this dish, but I thought it was delicious and the concept is very cool. You are seated, and then you walk up to a Chipotle style counter where you build your Tteokbokki bowl! There are multiple different types of rice cakes to choose from! Veggies, proteins, and noodles are added- you pick your sauce and they could it and bring to your table. Because you can load up your bowl with whatever you want, it's perfect for going with a group- at the very least, a pair that can eat! The bowls cost $30- so it seems a bit spendy for a solo eater. They also have Korean fried chicken and some assorted appetizers. I have been here twice and we will def be going back.

A great way to eat and DIY tteokbokki! I loved all the options of rice cakes, protein, veggies, noodles, and sauce to choose from. They also give a huge serving- the only down side is you can't order small portions. It's like you have to eat with at least one other person. The food was good and the servers were nice.
