Enjoyed a stop here this past weekend. Wait time was reasonable, about 15 minutes on a Sunday evening at 6:00. Tried a couple of pizzas, one on Detroit crust and the other stretched. I preferred the Detroit style, but that's just a personal preference. Both were very good. Not quite Emmy Squared, but a good option nonetheless. Worth a visit if you are in the market for pizza. My boyfriend and I tried Doughbird for the first time tonight, and can't wait to go back! We started with the truffle cheese bread that was yummy, gooey and crispy. And then each ordered a pizza. My boyfriends pizza did end up being input incorrectly by the server, but the manager came over very quickly, and assured us they would get a new pizza out ASAP and to enjoy the freebie. Funnily enough my boyfriend enjoyed the accidentally ordered pizza (Artichoke Pizza) more than the one he actually ordered (The Aviator) so it was a pleasant surprise. I was checking online for new restaurants in Nashville and came across this and decided to try it. They were busy so it was good that we made a reservation ahead of time. We got the shisito peppers as a appetizer, which were quite bland on its own, but the umami sauce that it came with was delicious. We got the carmelized cauliflower and the copper hat pizza. The entrees took a bit of time to arrive, which was understandable since the pizzas are made to order. The pizza was great, although I wish they included a dipping sauce for the crust. I ended up asking our server for some more of the umami sauce, but she also charged us $1 for it. The cauliflower was underwhelming, the sauce and the toppings were good, but the amount was small and left my husband still hungry afterwards. I've been to Doughbird many times, and thoroughly love the food and the ambiance of the establishment Great menu variety and creativity in the design of the cuisine. my go-to is the Copper Hat Pizza! however, I have noticed a few areas where Doughbird could improve. the last few times I have gone it has taken my food more than an hour to come out after ordering. I understand mistakes happen but it has happened a few times leading me to believe that they may be understaffed or have ordering issues. I love the food and even though I had to wait the food was still good. but looking forward, I think it is important that the problem is resolved as Nashville is a growing city with more and more people looking for places to become a regular staple in their lives, and if their first experience is having to wait for more than an hour for food when the restaurant is at 50% capacity. That being said, the Staff is very pleasant and tries their best to make a great dining experience which is appreciative when issues arise. All in all, I will continue to com back to doughbird because I love their food and ambiance and I have hope the issues will bd resolved. read more

The truffle cheese bread was topped with a nice cheese blend and had sufficient truffle flavor. While I loved all the crispy cheese along the Detroit style crust of the spicy Hawaiian pizza, I was disappointed with the toppings themselves. For something with "spicy" in its name, I couldn't detect any heat from the jalapenos, and there wasn't enough of the caramelized pineapple to provide the sweetness characteristic of Hawaiian pizza. Portions for both the truffle cheese bread and the spicy Hawaiian pizza were smaller than I expected. However, the warm butterscotch cake, topped with a smooth butterscotch sauce and vanilla gelato, was a generous portion and satisfying dessert. read more

Very disappointed in the pickup process. I followed all directions and waited in the curbside space #4. At 3:15 I went inside as nothing seemed to be happening. I went inside and there was no one to help. The hostess sent me to the side saying there would be someone to help me in "just a sec." After 5 minutes there was still no one. Eventually someone came and said she would check, had my pizza on the counter getting cold while French fries were being made. After 5 minutes waiting for the French fries she came back and then needed to make my drink. I ended up with a cold pizza. Very disappointing. When entering into Doughbirds, you're welcomed by a friendly, hostess or host. I selected to sit at the bar as it was fully open and available. The bartender greeted me and told me she would be with me in the moment. As I entered I noticed the beautiful ambience of the restaurant, the green hues and the urban boutique look. I ordered frozen Miami Vice and also the spicy blackberry margarita. Both drinks were very great. I wanted to try a variety of items on the menu, so I ordered the aviator pizza, Caesar salad, and the dry rub wings. All came out in a timely manner at an appropriate temperature and I was offered additional sides of ranch dressing since that's what I requested. Overall my experience was wonderful. This review is a culimination of three separate visits over the course of a month. Starting with the positive- the room is nice looking and there's an ample bar if you're by yourself. It does get quite loud so it's not a good first date. The first visit we ordered appetizers, pizzas, sides and tenders. It took a long time for food and when it arrived the Brussels sprouts were "soggy" or however you'd describe "crispy brussels" kept in a warmer for too long. Additionally, I found a hair in my Caesar salad. Their offer to "fix it" was another Caesar salad (Really!!?)...I chalked this one up to a bad night and we went back a couple weeks later. This time we ordered pizza and tenders and it took over an hour to get our food. They gave us a giftcard for the inconvenience...so 4 days later (last night) I suggest we give it another go. I called to order take out (6:00pm). We ordered the standard family rotisserie meal with some extra sides and a ham and pineapple pizza for kids. They said it would be 30 minutes. I arrived 35 minutes later and they were clearly very busy so I understood it would be a bit longer. 20 minutes later (6:55) the "to-go" worker is putting my bag together (observation: salad goes in first under the warm food...This makes no sense). The sauces I had ordered weren't included so I asked for them and got a literal eye roll (oh my! I've just been waiting an hour for warm salad and omissions to my order and get an eye roll?). I get to my car (teen kids waiting in the car the whole time) and realize I never checked the pizza. I check the pizza and it's wrong!!! Simple order ham and pineapple....this has basil and onion too?! I go back in to show the take out person (who gave me the eye roll) and another "take out" girl comes up- they both tell me the onions are ham and to pick off the basil. I pick up one of the onions and asked, "this is ham?" She couldn't argue because it definitely was not ham. She asked the pizza guy to remake the pizza. I NEVER received the first acknowledgment that any wrong doing had occurred or an apology for all of my time wasted. 22 minutes later (7:17pm) I receive another pizza that has basil on it (so it's wrong again). I witness the to-go girl look at it and can see on her face she knows it's wrong and gives it to me anyway. Really?! I pick off the basil and leave with another $25 giftcard that I'll never use. I paid for the incorrect pizza as it was never offered to comp the pizza they messed up. I don't ever expect anything for free but now my other food is cold so it seems like not paying for the pizza would have been the minimum. I've worked in food service and you can't keep royally screwing up and not expect a bad review because you're throwing out giftcards. This was 3 out of 3 in 4 weeks. It's too bad because the food can be good when it's right. At this location of Doughbird the level of professional incompetence cannot be matched by any other restaurant in Nashville. I visited Doughbird a few months ago when I was in town visiting a friend. She had been here before and thought it would be a place I'd like so we came for dinner. We arrived about an hour before close and put our name on the list for a party of 2. We were told about 5 minutes but ended up waiting closer to 15-20 which was odd as we saw other people walk in and get seated before us. There were also many open tables. Maybe it's because we stepped outside but we think they may have forgotten about us or thought we left. Either way this wasn't ideal but it is what it is. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with the lemon garlic sauce and their mac and cheese. All components of the meal were delicious and well seasoned. Our server didn't seem pleased to have a table sat about 30 mins prior to close but I don't think it's fair to treat us negatively because of it. We were there much earlier and ready to be sat. Second visit for dinner last night and I'm sad to say it was not near as satisfying as our first visit! It started with our server. She must've been new. She just wandered around like she was in a daze. She stood at the corner of the kitchen playing with her hair several times! She was not attentive. She didn't bring "cans" for our pizzas. We had to move everything around on the table to be able to reach them and the height of the cans would've corrected that issue! We had to stop her and ask for drink refills too! I really wish we would've had the server we had on our first visit! The wait time for our food was terribly long. There were 5 tables of customers when we were seated and 2 already had their food. We ordered rather quickly and it took about 45 minutes for two pizzas! I'd hate to know the wait when the restaurant is full! Both pizzas were delicious! We both tried different pizzas than on our first visit. We had the margherita and the aviator! We love the hand shaped crust! We had direct view of the kitchen area where food is put that is ready to be served. The lady who was checking the food before sending it out was eating, she had a plate of food on the shelf between the kitchen and the bar and every few minutes she would turn around and take a few bites! With her hands! Then she turned around and was touching all the food going out to customers tables! This was disturbing and kinda gross to me!
