Doughbird is one of the latest entries in Tucson's lineup of overpriced, below average and extremely bland food. The menu is basically personal sized pizzas that range from 16-27 dollars, fried chicken and tenders at about 15 dollars and a medley of deep fried appetizers you can find anywhere. My point is, Doughbird is extremely basic. You can find better pizza, at a better price and better portions a few blocks away. Rocco's, Upper Crust, Seriel Grillers offer bigger specialty pies for the same price. And Dave's Hot Chicken has a better chicken sandwich, and there you get 2 for 13 bucks. Not to mention Doughbird has long wait times, and a staff that is so lackluster. I think leadership needs to rethink their menu and figure out what makes them unique or worthy of paying these prices for this kind of food. read more

It's always fun to try something new. With that being said...the pizza is minimal... if that. The Brussels salad was good. We ordered the margarita and artichoke pizza. The margarita pizza was bland. The artichoke pizza had flavor but nothing to write home about. My opinion is...when you purchase pizza, you should smell all the herbs and cheese. Oh my! We went there for lunch on a Sunday. My husband got the Italian hoagie, our friend got a pizza and I got the crispy chicken sandwich with crinkle cut fries. Everything was amazingly good. Fred, hot and delicious. We will definitely stop again when we are in the Tucson area. read more

Opened last week. Had a 25 minute wait, which is fine and accurate to what they estimated us. Only downfall to the wait, was 25% of their tables both inside and out were reserved and hadn't been used the whole 1.5 hours we were there. Seems like a waste of money for them to hold reserved tables for so long with a very full waitlist of hungry customers. Service was great. Best mozzarella sticks and marinara I've had in 10+ years. Pizza was delicious. The 1/2 chicken was delicious as well that I split with my husband. Mac n cheese side was too resembling of pasta-roni 4 cheese cork screw pasta I make for a buck at home. I'll certainly revisit and get the same foods, less the mac. Pina colada was fresh and tasted great. Just a tad small for the price. Good kids menu, as well as affordable pricing for the kids. Includes drink. Which I've noticed a lot of places started to not include in a kids meal price. Pizzas, burgers, chicken tenders, 1/4 chicken, burger, etc offered for kids. Don't be fooled by the five star reviews. This place is not worth the money at all. Super over priced. And the food was average at best . I was super disappointed! I came here for My bday dinner and let's just say, I was very bummed that I chose this place based on the reviews. I've been to Doighbird twice now and have had a great experience both times. The chicken was delicious, and the sauces were yummy! I also really enjoyed the deep dish pizza. The service was great and j was really happy with the food. They were also very accommodating of me having a small child and all server walking by would wave and smile. Came here on Sunday late afternoon waited around 30 minutes before was seated even though there were a few tables empty. I ordered 3 pieces chicken tenders and my daughter ordered half chicken (roasted) and chicken noodle soup. My chicken was salty and the dip (lemon garlic) was also salty. We were a party of 6 and Ernie provided exceptional service all the way around. He led us through menu options - pizza, salad and chicken (both rotisserie and fingers) with ease! He kept all our drinks full (including swift deliveries from the bar!). The food was good but he made the overall experience great! Five of us went for a late lunch. Not too busy, and we were pleasantly seated right away. Nice enough ambiance, clean, roomy .. if rather like an office cafeteria. The server was pleasant and got us drinks and took our orders quickly. One funny thing ... one of our party was mentioning that there was a Sun reflection coming right into his face from a car parked outside. The server suggested that she could do something about that and had the screens pulled down. She was very kind to offer this ... the only thing is that she pulled down 3 of the 4 shades, but not the one that would block the light from his face. We laughed it off, and the car eventually left - resolving the issue. So the food took a while to arrive, but I'm sure because they were short on help. The chicken sandwiches were impressive, which was with fresh chicken on big, fresh tolls, lots of lettuce ( enough for a salad). Fries were fine - salty. My wife and I wanted to split the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and Brussel sprouts. After 15-20 minutes, our server came back to say the sauce we ordered was not available, so we picked another one. When they brought out our dish, they said they were going to have to bring out the rest of or Brussels in a bit. There were only two Brussels that were so black! Five minutes later, they brought out a small bowl of blackened sprouts, mostly blackened loose leaves - inedible. Tried the lemon meringue pie - not good ... meringue was like sugary glue - not light nor airy. Filling was more like a key lime pie. I'm giving this 5 stars because I love the choices on the menu. I have visited a few times and had excellent service. They are very accommodating when guest have food allergies (or food allergies "preferences" which translates to picky). On my favorite visit with a table of 4, I was able to sample various items from the happy hour menu including pizza, hummus, mac and cheese, wings, and more. Everything was yummy and the cocktails were wonderful. We left with full tummies and very happy taste buds. This establishment seems to have a menu that most people would enjoy. Yum! Dropped in Saturday night during the 4th of July weekend. Since it was a little busy we sat at the bar and Bri took excellent care of us. We couldn't decide what looked best so we opted for a little of everything with the plan to share. I got the chicken bolognese pasta which came with garlic bread, he got the chopped Italian salad and we put the Detroit style pepperoni and fresh mozzarella pizza between us to share. We each liked our choice so much we ate it all without so much as offering the other even a bite. While all were delicious, I have to say of all the main entrees the pizza was my favorite. The Detroit style crust had an incredible buttery flavor and a incredible crunch to the outside while still maintaining a soft interior. It was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. It was so good I wished it would have been a little bigger. We finished it off with the butterscotch cake which was delivered to us by the manager Marlene who, when we complimented the food explained to us how everything thing there all the way down to the smallest thing like the salad dressings are made by scratch in house. I'm a real food critic and not so easy to please. Service was awesome, this little lady was the Best! Food took a while but was worth the wait. Doughbird is new to Tucson and we've been wanting to try it out. We had a birthday in the family and she picked this as her choice for the celebration lunch. The menu looked good - not overly large, but a good set of items for lunch including pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and larger entrees. They have a pretty extensive drink menu - we ordered a Miami vice, margarita, pina colada, and beer. The drinks were all very good ! For appetizers, we ordered the mozzarella sticks and brussel sprouts. For the main course, we ordered the Italian sandwich, wings, and pizza. Have to say the brussel sprouts were the best we've ever had ! A great mix of sweet and savory together ! All the main courses were excellent - everyone gave them a big "thumbs up". We waited 45 mins for a table that was empty the entire time we were waiting (after they messed up our reservations). Pizza crusts was over cooked and fries were too salty. After that we waited over 35 minutes for him to come back to our table so we could order but he never did. At first I thought the concept of a chicken and pizza place was odd, but Doughbird was pretty good! We really enjoyed the Buffalo wings with house made ranch, and the shishito peppers with umami sauce were also super great. The umami sauce is really unique, it's kinda mushroomy. The chicken tenders were good too, and my friend enjoyed his Detroit style pizza. My only complaints are that the crispy Brussels sprouts that came with my chicken tenders were WAY too sweet to eat, and the gin & tonic just tasted like a plain gin & tonic, I wasn't getting any yuzu flavor or anything special.
