Two stars because it's not the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life, but good grief, this was pretty awful. 1. Brown is not a flavor. The vegetable fried rice had a brown sauce but was flavorless. And not fried. I added sesame sauce & tamari & I'll fry it up tomorrow, because I was stupid enough to get a large, so I have enough for a week's worth of lunch. But you know, when I have to add sauce & cook it myself, that sorta defeats the purpose. 2. Grease is not a flavor. This however was the predominant flavor for the scallion pancakes. The "sauce" was mostly vinegar and disgusting, in the teeniest, tiniest container, such that it'd be impossible to actually dip, if the sauce were edible. 3. General Gao's chicken exactly that. My family has been going to this location since the very early 80's and they have maintained the same quality, value and taste through the years. My favorite is the lo-mein, with a side of lobster sauce and crab rangoon. Hits the spot every time. After moving to the Everett area, I have been trying to find a chinese food restaurant that is similar to the one I grew up with and I think Dragon Chef is as close as it gets. Don't expect a warm welcome from the lady who takes your order as its just a take out place and they couldn't care less about manners. If you're picking up its a small waiting area with only a few chairs and it gets a little crowded while you wait. we always walk next door to the convenience store to get cokes since they only supply pepsi products. Their portions are good sizes and everything is always cooked well. The crab rangoons are amazing. We've ordered the general gau's and beef and broccoli as well as just rice and some appetizers. The only thing I can think of that we didn't like was the fried shrimp. way too doughy and teeny tiny shrimp. Not worth the money so we won't order those again. read more

What can I say, except that this place is awesome. If you're in the area, you have to try out their dinner plates. They have a boat load to choose from. My favorites include number 3, 8, 14, and 16. If you're into duck sauce, you better ask for extra, you will love it. It goes great with the crab rangoons. This place is pretty small so you'll have to be aware that they are take out only, but they do deliver (pretty fast). I noticed there is a lunch menu recently....must be new. On new years eve, you better place your orders well in advance though, you'll be waiting a long time if you don't. Also, they limit what you can buy in terms of sizes...so when its busy you can't get those awesome dinner plates. I guess thats the only bad thing. read more

The food here is as it should be. Tasty, traditional" American Chinese" . They've recently changed packaging I believe, this didn't make us happy. We are a large family of 6 and the old LG boxes suited us well. So you can imagine a family of 4 would have faired well with LG sizes. Ok, other than that and that the lady who works the desk is less than polite..well it's a take out only place so your not coming for the warm ambience and friendly hostess. Don't expect it. I pass this place on the way home and always wanted to give it a try but really did not want to get off the bus to be disappointed. I read a couple of reviews on here and everyone loved it so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. The food here is really good. They have some of the best egg foo young I have ever had and their lobster sauce is good too. I liked that they had 3 sizes on the menu so when u are too hungry for a small or not piggy enough for a large you can get a medium and be happy. My favorite neighborhood Chinese place!!! Cheap as hell, and the food is great too. Awesome Duck Sauce, always ask for extra. Always laugh when I get bread in my to go bag, cuz that never happens back home in CT. They serve an awesome Wonton Soup that is chock full of veggies, and the most tasty broth. Pork Fried Rice is premade, so always order beef or chicken if you want it fresh. When I am feeling lazy and don't want to walk that 2 blocks they deliver too. I have lived in Everett for years & until ordering from this place have not enjoyed a decent order of Chinese food in this area. Most dishes in other places have been greasy and tasteless. I thought I would give this place a try. To my complete surprise the food was outstanding! I have a fondness for crabs raggoon but always found them so over-fried to the point it barely had any taste, so I had stopped ordering it anywhere else. Wow what a thrill to find those I ordered here were creamy, cooked just right and bigger than others. The pu pu platter was wonderful. Each piece was cooked to perfection, delicious & reveled in it's own flavor. The eggrolls (another thing that tended to be over-fried) was the best I've ever had. If you like over-cooked crunchy food you may not like eating food from here but if you are particular and want to enjoy a meal made with pride & cooked to perfection--go to Dragon Chef! read more
