It's unfortunate that their late night customer service on the phone is subpar. I called at 10:30 pm this evening to ask when last call for food was: I was told 11:45 pm. I called back at 11:24 on tonight and the female who answered the line asked me to hold. Naturally, I said of course. I proceeded to wait seven minutes and decided to hang up and dial again. The call immediately went to voicemail with a "full inbox" as if it were a mobile number. I would be willing to remove this review if I were met with a different experience next time. This seems like a great place to grab a bite and drink after a swing shift. I just hope that their approach to taking phone orders improves to meet the level of their menu which has always been 5 stars! read more

My sister got me hooked on this place and, while I love their teas, a few things keep me from giving them the full 5 star review. First off, I've been here plenty of times and so has my sister. She went in the other day and waited to be helped while the workers were standing around talking and goofing off. When they finally helped her, they tried giving her the wrong order. The other time that she ordered over the phone, she had to repeat the entire order several times. Keep in mind, it's not a very difficult order. Besides all of that, we like the drinks and they are pretty good 90% of the time, except the few times we have gone and they've tasted like they had no sweetener (just tasted bitter). The reason I am really writing this review though is because we have tried calling in our orders, like we have done in the past, but the past 5 times or so, we haven't been able to do that because they never answer the phones. It takes away the convenience of being able to order by phone and pick it up. Now, we went tonight and I tried calling yet again and no answer. We decided to just head there anyway. The doors say they close every night at 1:00 AM and Yelp says they close at 12:00 AM on Mondays. We showed up at 11:20 PM ish and all the lights were off and I could see someone inside through the light from my headlights. It wasn't even 11:30 PM. Also, their door still says they're open every day until 1:00 AM, so if that's not the case, they should change it. I understand the workers want to go home, but 40 minutes before closing seems too early to me. We ended up leaving and going to 7-eleven. Maybe next time we'll go earlier, but that just doesn't sit right with me. read more

This is one of places that tries to do and be too many things without being really good at any one thing. It's a nice thought to try to do some fusion, but the items are all kind of lackluster. Setup: Layout of the restaurant is small but pretty cute. I like the tatami style on one side to create a more traditional feel. The staff is friendly enough. Food: I got the fries and crispy chicken. These were okay. Nothing crazy amazing or bad. The chicken was crispy and not soggy. There was a sweet sauce that came with these that I wish I had asked not to have. Drinks: I got the standard milk tea jug for friends at work. This was pretty basic. Tea flavor was weak, and mostly just milky and sweet. Nothing really stand outs about the drinks, which is too bad, since it looks pretty cute. Dragonfly Tea Bar is the perfect place to go to for a late night boba craving. I love the ambience this shop gives off! The teas are what you would expect from a classic boba shop. Nothing unique, but decent staple tea/boba drinks. I do want to mention that by saying "decent drinks", I mean teas that aren't super flavorful and are quite sweet. I myself prefer my tea to have a bold taste and to have the option to adjust the sweetness without having the milk/sugar overpower the tea itself. I don't feel like this shop delivers that but nonetheless, if it's late and my usual tea shops are closed, I always go to Dragonfly. The food is also pretty decent if you're craving something salty next to your drink. One night I was craving milk tea. My Favorite spot was already closed. I yelped and this location was open late. My husband was coming home from Hockey practice and said he will pick up our drinks. I order my drink which was the CocoAlmond. I asked for 1/2 sweet cuz I don't want it sweet and had it with crystal boba. Hubby came home with the drink and I tasted my drink and I was WOKE! Lol. Damn there was no way in hell that drink was 50% less sweet. It was more like 150% sweet. All I tasted was sugar. Not the tea. Like heavy almond syrup. My sugar level went thru the roof. I went to adjust my drink. I pored 1/2 out and added more ice and unsweetened oat milk. Was still too sweet. So I added water. Left in in the fridge for the next morning. Still too sweet for my liking. So I had to just dump it. I will not be returning. I give it 2 stars cuz I might jus give them the benefit of the doubt next time. read more

The only place that was in the way of our destination and fulfilled the requirement of having boba. Nothing really exciting about it, but nothing terrible at all. It is very much so, a somewhat slow boba place. Now when I say slow, I mean slow to produce the orders. This place generates a line, that has to awkwardly arrange themselves through the cracks and openings of the area between the register, a raised platform, and seats (you'll know what I mean once you're inside). While you wait, or even while drinking your order, there are books in a shelf which I thought were actually a really great addition that made me smile. Of course, I eventually got my order--I ordered the mystery, which is a random boba drink generated each time (supposedly) and they cannot tell you what is inside! It wasn't terrible, but yet again, it wasn't that memorable besides the fact that it is a mystery. This place is ok for boba fixes and late night munchies. They're open till way past midnight. I don't even know how they can do that every day - even weekdays! Plus, they have the BOGO free drink promotion - I've definitely been taking advantage of that! I hope they continue it .. :P They also sell food here, but doesn't seem that enticing. Stay away from their fried calamari. I'm used to the loops - because that's what real squid should be. No, here it comes in a drop, which makes me think they mix their own formula to get a similar texture and fry that. Gross. I was super disappointed. I'll stick with their drinks. My friends and I came here last night for late night studying. What's nice is that this place is open til 3am and has wifi! The only downside was that it was a little hot inside but after my friends and I opened the door the breeze felt nice. The food here was okay. I ordered the beef plate and my friends got appetizers and snacks. I didn't get to try the teas but next time I will. The people that come here are friendly too. I interacted with a few people asking about what they would recommend and everyone was more than happy to share their recommendations. The cafe has one big table, a few booths and some tables outside. For me to feel satisfied, I'd need to eat 3 orders of that!  Their popcorn chicken is very crispy. Good size chicken pieces not like some places where it is all clumped in chunks. it's suppose to be popcorn size you know! You can tell these items are made fresh.  They have frequent user cards, so get yourself one! There are daily rice combo specials + tea drink of choice + add-in of choice AND you get 20% of on any snacks/drinks/dessert purchases with the daily deal!  Yes daily, Sunday - Saturday!!  Credit card payments are welcomes but requires minimum purchase of $5.00 which isn't hard to meet at any tea house.  They provide filtered cold water in a dispenser with cups. I've been coming here for quite a while and I must say it is my favorite spot to study at. They offer Wi-Fi, printing services, and restroom to their customers. The drinks are great. My favorites to get are the rainbow tea with lychee jelly and honeydew latte, both with half sweetness. The food is delicious too, definitely worth trying! I absolutely love their crispy tofu with medium spice level. The music can get quite loud and distracting sometimes but I still love coming here to study. read more

I don't know why I gave this place 3 stars before. I'm still going here after years and even after it changed from a Lollicup. Love how late they're open. They have a giant menu with a great selection. Their boba is perfect...chewy and flavorful without being overpowering. The prices are totally fair for boba. Their fruit tea drinks aren't too sweet which is great. I believe they still have a minimum purchase for credit cards so try to bring cash. They have free WiFi so it's a great place to hang out and have a drink (a boba drink that is). The interior was getting a little worn but they've revamped it. I've only had their food once but it was good. Popcorn chicken...yum. They just opened a new boba place in The Circle that I tried out recently had but I'll still pick Dragonfly any day. If you're looking for a place to hang out with some tea/coffee drinks and snacks, this might be a good place for it. They're open till late, and have just the right amount of fried food to keep you snacking. The interior looks like a little mix between a diner, cocktail lounge and a Japanese izakaya. I ordered a random tea, which is some random flavors mixed together picked by the staff. It actually turned out pretty good, even though I did not know what blend was mixed. The Chia seeds inside give it a nice little texture to it. I had also ordered the sampler plate, fried tofu and popcorn chicken. Just a little advice for people that cannot eat spicy food, the medium had a nice kick to it which I liked, but a lot of people may find spicy. All the items I had ordered tasted good, pretty much what I expected which is not a bad thing. This is definitely a good place to hang out and kill time with some friends even at late hours. Came here on a whim from Irvine looking for a boba spot that was open late. Being college students who stay up all hours of the night, boba shops that are open late are essential. I ordered a cocotaro milktea and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We also ordered a tai tea which wasn't bad- but not the best I've had. Definitely if you come here order their specialty drinks. Ambiance of the shop was great- good music, comfy seats, good decor. They also offer free printing if you bring your own paper ! The drink I ordered (coconut milk tea with boba) was actually pretty good. Not overly sweet, and the texture of the boba was pretty good. A little chewier than I like but overall pretty good. My bf and I also shared a tiramisu, and while it definitely did not taste like a traditional tiramisu, I did like the flavor. The issue with this place is the layout. It's confusing! And you have to get up close to see a menu. We didn't even know where to order at first,and as we were waiting for our drinks other people were actually starting to line up behind us thinking that's where to order. You get the picture. They just tried to fit too much into a smaller space. Another thing is that this location definitely caters to bigger groups. There were a couple high-rise tables for small groups, but the majority of the booths and seating were for bigger groups. It can get pretty noisy. read more

Been here twice now and the drinks are pretty good. You can customize the sugar level however you want and there are lots of non-dairy options. There was a slight mix up with the add-ons in my drink the last time I went, but that's no big. I also had their zucchini sticks and they were amazing! I'll definitely try some of their other stuff the next time I go. It's not such a great place to work/study for me because of the noise level, though they do offer free Wi-Fi. Their drinks are good, they're usually a little too sweet for me, but I think everything is sweet, so it's all on me for forgetting to ask for half sweet. They use non-dairy creamer, so those who are lactose-intolerant (me) it's safe to drink!
