Really good barbecue. No frills. Tender smoky meat. I got a two-way with ribs and chicken. Drew was nice. Recommend!

BBQ chicken, ribs, links, mac n' cheese, green beans, plated at home! Added deli coleslaw, corn tortillas to round out the meal!

Food 5.0 | Service 5.0 | CASH ONLY Hours: Thu, Fri & Sat from 12PM to 7PM DREW'S BARBECUE (DB) is located on Hahn Street & Visitacion Avenue, in a quiet neighborhood of Viz Valley, bordering McLaren Park. Parking is if-you're-lucky so park considerately or tag team it. Not a normal sit down eatery with its accouterments. So Prepare to take out your awesome meal for home, park or other scenic picnicking locale. Have plenty of paper towels and wipes on hand. MENU Simple and to the point. Pick a main then 2 sides. BBQ Mains: Sides: * Ribs $21 * Mac n' cheese * Chicken $18. * Baked beans * Links $7 * Green beans * 2 Way (combo) $27 * Potato salad Ordered: 2 WAY w/BBQ CHICKEN and RIBS,and sides GREEN BEANS & MAC N' CHEESE. Added HOT LINKS at the last minute. Actually made sure I had enough cash to add it! Lol. DB had some condiments like Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce, some hot sauces on hand that you can add to your order but what laid before me was good enough to go! The BBQ CHICKEN & RIBS had to be some of the best homemade barbecue I've had. No extra barbecue sauce was needed and that's a good measurement for good barbecue. But I had some Sweet Baby Ray's at home already! Lol. Both CHICKEN and RIBS on its own was smoky, unctuous, moist, tender, well-seasoned, and now I understand what's "finger licking good!" The HOT LINKS were smoky bites of yumminess. I don't usually like the sides that go with barbecue but the MAC N' CHEESE and GREEN BEANS were pretty good accompaniments to the barbecue. I picked up some deli coleslaw and corn tortillas to round out the meal. Perfection! DREW'S BARBECUE knows his barbecue and is a great barbecue takeout option for any occasion. Like having homemade barbecue without the work! Don't know if he caters but it's well worth asking, and a big bonus if he does. Lastly, Ambiance is Drew and his beautiful smoky barbecue chicken, ribs and links! Five stars!

I always drive by this place and have never stopped. Figured we needed good bbq for Juneteenth. It did not disappoint. Excellent service and delicious food, even my teens chowed down. Easy to park by the community center. Try it. The meat is smoked to perfection. The baked beans have ground turkey. Enjoy!

    The smell is amazing!

We are walking the Roundabout Trail (https://crosstowntrail.org/the-roundabout/) and smelled Drew's long before we saw it. What a lovely surprise to unexpectedly come across just in time for lunch! We had the two way with chicken and pork ribs. Yum! The rub is perfect! We also enjoyed the baked beans and potato salad sides. There's no seating, so we took our meal across the street to the Herz playground. It was a perfect rest stop on our hike... including bathrooms, and water refill. Highly recommend if you're in the area! The two way was enough to share between my husband and me.

We stopped by after hiking around McLaren Park and I'm glad we did! Drew seems like a cool guy and the food sort of reminds me of getting really good food at a backyard cookout. Not too fancy, just delicious food on a neighborhood street corner. That makes sense since apparently he's been doing it this way for over 8 years. We got the ribs and the links with potato salad and mac and cheese. I have no idea which are homemade and which are not except the ribs, but I'll review it all! The ribs were dry rubbed and lightly smoked with a bit of char. There were a few bony rib ends which some people aren't into, but I'm very excited about a little cartilage. The links had a little spiciness and good texture. No complaints about that potato salad. I really liked the mac and cheese; larger macaroni and good cheese flavor. Tasty, homey, and local.

The guy running this spot really knows his way around a grill. I was staying somewhat close by and was looking at food options in the area when Drew's pop up. I noted the limited days/hours they were open and marked it as a place to try when I was in the Bay Area. Only open on Friday/Saturdays from 12-7 it is worth stopping by if you are in the area. The menu is real simple: Ribs, Chicken, and Hot Links with 4 sides to choose from, Mac & Cheese, Baked Beans, Green Beans, and Potato Salad. I went on a Saturday afternoon and ordered the 2 Way which I chose the ribs & chicken along with the mac & cheese and green beans as my sides. Also added a couple of links to the order. I was told that all the sides were homemade except the potato salad which was still supposed to be good. This is strictly a carry-out only operation just so you know. Ribs 4/5 Chicken 4/5 Links 3.5/5 Mac & cheese 4/5 Green beans 4/5 The ribs and chicken were cooked very well and the rub used was good. Nice smoky flavor that only charcoal can give you. There were some bottled BBQ sauces available on the table but I forgot to add some before I left. No matter it wasn't needed since the rub was good. Although it wasn't the best BBQ I've had it is good and I would recommend trying Drew's BBQ out sometime.

The ribs were really good! So was the 2 sides. I definitely recommend coming here if you want some ribs made with love!

The brisket is tender, smoky, and always disappeares way too fast. The hot link has perfect snap, the chicken is alwayss juicy, and the bao bun (side of pickled onions) is always a standard on all our orders. The sides, oh the sides, mac & cheese and potato salad are exactly what great BBQ sides should be. Don't forget the cornbread muffins either. And special alert: the brisket chili deserves its own spotlight. This is a family-run operation, and it shows. Great people, great food, and a fantastic addition to our side of the city. My advice: don't sleep on Smokin D's, place the order and always ask for extra BBQ sauce. Thank you, Smokin D's, for keeping San Francisco smoked, sauced, and happy.

The brisket had good flavor; the fatty parts were tender, but not as much for the non-fatty parts (the majority). I did hear someone ask for more fat with their order, smart! The ribs were tender but not much flavor at all. Skip the Mac - too dry and bland in practice. I liked the cornbread though! Located on the ground floor of the infamous leaning Milennium Tower in San Francisco's Financial District, INTERNATIONAL Smoke was Michael Mina's fine dining barbecue restaurant collaboration with multi-hyphenate entrepreneur Ayesha Curry. I visited this place once, for a small dinner party hosted by Charles Schwab on Tuesday, October 14, 2024. We arrived shortly after 6:35 PM. The atmosphere was modern, but casual and hip, funky with exposed metal accents popping through concrete floors and columns. Evidently, the fully booked days were behind them - despite the place's popularity as a fun, lively eatery with the occasional celebrity spotting, the restaurant was fairly quiet that night and not a single person was at the bar. We were seated in the spacious Atrium with floor to ceiling windows. INTERNATIONAL Smoke was not your traditional barbecue restaurant. They presented a globally-inspired grill-centric carte inspired by the rich heritages of the co-founders. The globetrotting meat dishes highlighted diverse international flame-cooking and smoking traditions. The ambitiously broad menu intended to take diners on a culinary journey around the world, but, instead, delivered a disjointed and scattered passport. Similar to the food offerings, INTERNATIONAL Smoke's drink catalogue featured some rotating crafted cocktails that leaned into global flavours, such as KUNG FU PANDAN ($18) and MIDNIGHT IN OAXACA ($20). Boozy beverages like TICKLE ME PINK ($19), NEGRONI ($19), and the ESPRESSO MARTINI ($20) were enjoyed by some of my tablemates. A couple of us stuck to the ZERO PROOF potables like the BUZZ FREE BEE ($15) and RASPBERRY FIELDS ($12) of which the latter I found to be delightful. Cool ice cubes, too! Below are a few of the dishes that we ordered: DOUBLE DUCK WINGS ($28) - I don't eat duck, but my dining mates raved over the tender mango-habanero glazed meat that was falling off the bones. BLACK TRUFFLE CAESAR ($20) - This was a substantial serving, and the sweet onion crema, fried garlic, and truffle vinaigrette all worked well together. ROASTED CAULIFLOWER ($18) - Meh. Perhaps my prejudice against raisins and tehina got in the way of enjoying this STARTER. BLISTERED SHISHITO PEPPERS ($16) - There was not a single blister on any of the peppers, so, unfortunately, the expected smoky, charred flavour was completely absent. MISO YAKI BLACK COD ($48) - This order came with two considerable sized filets of the velvety soft and flaky fish served atop mild shishito peppers sitting in a light ginger dashi broth. It could have just been me, but one of the slices looked a bit undercooked. DUNGENESS CRAB GARLIC NOODLES ($45) - Joanna went with this rich, buttery dish of noodles tossed with wood ear mushrooms, generous portions of Dungeness crab, and heavily garlicked. It was hearty, but I didn't see any bok choy mixed in there, which would have disappointed me if I were Joanna. PERI PERI HALF CHICKEN ($39) - Dustin ordered this dish. The poultry appeared to be well marinated, so I can only assume that the deep, fiery acidic flavour with the pronounced smoky element came through in each bite. Surprisingly, no rants nor raves on this from Dustin...who is usually very opinionated. PORK BELLY FRIED RICE ($17) - Not the worst, but not the best. For the small bowl, this was a major rip off. FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS ($15) - Wow, for the price, this should have knocked our socks off, but was pretty lackluster. 8 OZ. CENTER CUT FILET MIGNON ($68) - I ordered this steak plate. The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare, but the taste of the red wine demi and the stuffed portobello mushroom were unremarkable. LEMON OLIVE OIL CAKE ($14) - This did not stray far from the standard olive oil cake, just a touch of lemon added to the cake's flavour + the pluot garnishes. Nothing standout about this, unintriguing. "SMOKED" CHOCOLATE S'MORES ($14) - Not your typical s'mores, more of an elevated take on the campfire classic with a valrhona molten cake sitting atop brûléed marshmallow fluff with a side of graham cracker crumble and a scoop of ice cream. CINNAMON CHURROS ($13) - The accompanying blueberry cheesecake and meyer lemon curd dips were the sole unique elements of this sugar-dusted fried pastry dessert. Without them, this plate would have been underwhelming. Mediocre food at high-end prices aside, table service was friendly. What was all the hype over INTERNATIONAL Smoke? My true guess is that the affiliation with Steph Curry and his basketball friends who would pop in were the big draw...because even with all of the smoking, this place had no fire.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. We were all cramped waiting on the stairway and the actual seating area is also fairly small for a busy KBBQ place/big parties. The 8 of us squeezed into a booth with 2 chairs on the side. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy.
