Had a great meal with family and would definitely recommend. Fresh seafood, if you're in Hilton Head definitely go to the dry dock

Went to the drydock two nights in a row. First night (Saturday) got there at 9.30 were told the kitchen was closed for the night by the staff smoking outside the front door. Second night got there earlier since Hilton Head seems to shut down early evening. This time got in the door and was hit by the smell of rotting fish. I know it's a fish restaurant but should not smell like an old tuna boat. The restaurant was practically empty as was the parking lot but were told there would be a 45 min wait for a table since they were so busy and we would probably not get a table before the kitchen shut down. All in all never got to try the food and will not go back since they obviously don't want the business. read more

My wife and I had a great dinner here. I had their Philly Cheese Steak that was right on (we are both from Philly) and my wife had their Fish and Chips, very fresh fish said my wife. We plan to go back before we leave. read more

This was not worth the price. The food was decent, the atmosphere was ok, the the service was inadequate. It was quick, but the amount of food and quality of food was lacking. I would not go again. There are plenty of other places of better quality and less or equal expense to go to. read more

This is a great place to eat. We have been going there for several years. The new place is more spacious, but with the same menu. The food is delicious, very reasonable and the service is quick and friendly. I would recommend Dry Dock to anyone who wants a nice relaxing, casual meal. read more

My hub and were famished and dropped in For lunch . My hub ordered a basket and he got a ton of fries to eat along with his clams and shrimp. I also ordered a basket. I got 8 small bites of BBQ Mahi-Mahi for 11.00. No fries, no slaw.., no anything. I ordered the "basket" and when I asked waiter about side items , he said the Mahi-Mahi came with nothing! The menu stated dockside fries as accompsniment. I double-checked the menu because who would believe lunch item was simply a small piece of fish cut up and served with nothing! Waiter insisted it was all I got! Totally weird experience.., waiter just refused to admit he forgot to bring side item. I left starving and a bit freaked out that an outright lie was told to me rather than admission of a mistake. I'm not one to cause a scene, but felt a review might save someone else such disappointment! read more

Worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. Waited 15 minutes for our waitress, had our drinks taken by another nice waitress who took pity on us. Haven't seen our waitress since she took our order. Food came quick and was actually good, but ran out of drinks and when we asked for a refill from another random waitress that was the only one we could find, we were hatefully told "yeah in a minute." The one nice waitress actually stopped and asked us if we needed a refill. Turns out it was her first day and I suppose she hasn't been corrupted by the others yet. I won't be returning here again and I will certainly not recommend it to others. read more

Been there before and the food has been great. Went in on a slow day with 17 people and was completely ignored by the long haired ponytailed bartender. Who did not serve us and was verbally rude (even in front of kids). He told us if we did not want any to wait on him that we should just leave. So we did. Worst service ever. read more

Decided to try this place because of the yelp reviews. Walked in with 4 adults and 3 kids under 5 at 6pm on a Tuesday night. The staff was very helpful and accomodating with the children. Food was fantastic. We had the Grover's fries and onion strings to start. I never thought to have the combination of ingredients in the fries but it was one of best appetizers I have had. We got the garlicky shrimp and baguette special as well as the blackened mahi. Both were excellent. Beers were cold and went down smooth. The kids meals were acceptable but less than nutritious with limited options. Would recommend this place for dinner. read more

My parents and I decided to go out to eat for our annual Spring Break to Hilton Head Island. Dry Dock seemed like a decent seafood restaurant and the menus looked great online. After we received our cold hush puppies and entrées at the same time, there was an encounter at the table next to us. The waitress/owner was clearly in a bad mood and she was being rude to the party. After about one hour, one of the ladies asked if the food was coming out soon because they have been waiting for awhile. She started talking quite loudly to the guests and started insulting them for being rude and that they should've have gone to McDonalds if they wanted "fast food". The owner escalated the situation by calling over her husband who started yelling at the entire table for not being happy about the very long wait. The husband told the party to "pay up and leave". The young man who served us smelled like cigarettes and it was overall an awful experience. read more

Are you visiting Hilton Head and wonder where the locals eat? Answer: Dry Dock. The food is delicious and reasonable priced which is difficult to find on Hilton Head. Vicki's Grouper is my favorite and I had it once again this evening. I've never had a more delectable fish dish. Their she crab soup is some of the best I've ever had. I could eat a gallon of it. My dining companion scraped my bowl when I was done. I had given her a taste before I began eating it. She ordered some to take home. I'm a native and I go to Dry Dock regularly and have never had a ho hum meal. Wait staff is always friendly. Over the years I have had every appetizer and enjoyed them all and I have cut a swath through the sandwiches and dinner entrees but I keep coming back to my favorites. Their is seating inside and out and occasionally live music., Scallops, clams, oysters, steaks, the list of options continue. I'm salivating as I write this remembering my many enjoyable meals at this restaurant. read more

Very disappointed. From the minute we walked in we felt unwelcome and were not greeted for multiple minutes. We were forced to wonder aimlessly in the restaurant lobby until someone decided to come seat us, very reluctantly. Although the restaurant was nearly empty, a table of eight seemed nearly impossible to the hostess, however after seating us she proved to be more welcoming than the dark, cramped environment we were seated in. For at least ten minutes we sat and wondered not only what was on the menu but if there was anyone even working that day. Again the restaurant was not full. Our waitress came over and did not improve our already doubtful opinion on the place. Not only did she fail to even introduce herself but when she learned that there would be more than one check she rolled her eyes and walked away complaining that she needed to get more checks. We felt incredibly uncomfortable and seriously debated leaving before she came back however we decided to stick it out. We all ordered waters which were brought to us about 25 minutes after we ordered them with the reasoning being that she simply forgot about us. It was an interesting excuse agabecause of how empty the place was and also because we saw her talking and standing around rather than even getting us our simple drink order. After she gave us our water she just looked at us which apparently meant it was time to order and then we did not see her again until the food was ready. She was not around to help us with anything and we never had the chance to get refills. She did not talk to us unless it was absolutely necessary and she made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted. The food was not bad and most people were satisfied but the atmosphere and treatment from the establishment left a bad taste in our mouths. We decided to give a minimum tip despite our habit of over tipping simply because the service was not even average and we were annoyed and just wanted to get out of there. Overall we were not impressed. The food was average, the ambiance was underwhelming and eerie and reasonable treatment of customers is obviously not a priority. read more

In spite of large football crowd he checked back regularly Nice open clean venue with tables booths and separate bar area Will be back for more and new must do when on the island. read more

Good food, prices about the same as some others. I had mahi-mahi tacos which were good. We had some Asian style chicken for an appetizer which was really good. The only criticism I can give is that there was music playing throughout but also a hockey game playing on TV with volume the same as the music. It was too much to hear both and confusing. The waitress charged me for two draft beers when I only ordered one. Most people don't look over their check and just pay it. We brought it to their attention and it was corrected. We arrived after the dinner rush and were seated by the host. After 15 minutes of not being acknowledged (despite the fact that we were seated next to the servers condiment cabinet) my husband politely asked if a server could come to our table. The waiter was very apologetic and immediately got our drink order and left the table saying "we'll make sure something is free on the bill tonight!". Drinks arrived, we placed our order with no issue. While waiting for our food, my husband took our toddler over to see the fish tank where he ran into a very upset family. They had been waiting for 10 minutes, not been greeted by a host or hostess and watched several people who arrived after them be seated. What was absolutely unforgivable is the fact that they were African American. My husband apologized and asked if they wanted him to get a server or the host for them to which the response was "No, its alright, it's not your fault...(to family) lets go somewhere else." Then the food came, tiny portions, no sides, big prices. Nothing spectacular. Ugh. And NOTHING was taken off the bill! My 11 year old was hungry an hour after eating his tiny sliders. With so many fine restaurants on this island please don't waste your time or money on this one. read more

We have visited Dry Dock a few times during the last few years (old location and new location) and I have never been too impressed with the food but it's always been OK enough. If you want fried food after fried food you have a lot of options. I usually order the same thing each time I am talked into going to this restaurant.(steamed mussels) This time we had four friends with us which made us a table of six adults. We ordered our food, four opted for fried platters. I chose to try the Dry Dock steam pot. Everyone's food arrived but mine did not. I waited approximately 10 minutes--no food! The server finally came by and noticed that I still not have dinner. She went to check on my dinner. She told me that it was mistakenly taken by another server. I continued to wait. I finally received my Dry Dock Steam Pot and the seafood and corn on the cob were cold! The seafood was so overly cooked it was not edible. I tried to eat the shrimp, mussels, etc. but it was just too rubbery. Since my table mates had their dinners arrive much earlier, I was left trying to hurry up and eat while they were clearly finished. Not worth it! The restaurant was not busy even though it was during July 4th week and all other restaurants on the island were packed. read more
