Initially, I scheduled an appointment with another dealership. Still, I quickly changed the location for service because of the experience, so I called Dublin Chevrolet, assuming it would be a good experience and I wouldn't mind the long-distance drive. The process seemed simple to call and register over the phone while scheduling service.
Once I arrived at the location and entered the service department asking for John, the person made me feel uncomfortable asking for him and how I should wait outside. A feeling he gave me because of his tone of voice. Regardless, I returned outside and stood by my daughter's car until the technician arrived. The technician took pictures of the vehicle for liability reasons, I assume, and asked for a signature, then directed me to the service person called Jack. (I guess John wasn't available even though they booked me with him) Anyway, Jack was pleasant, friendly and assisted me with the service options and paperwork.
In my daughter's vehicle, I have a device attached to notify me of accidents, vehicle location, wifi connection, maintenance records, insurance records, roadside assistance, and SEEING MAINTENANCE ERROR CODES. A device called 'SYNC DRIVE' announced an issue with the vehicle when I was driving the car several days ago. The maintenance error code was 'P0494 - Fan Speed Low.' I mentioned this at the time of scheduling my appointment too.
As I left the vehicle for regular maintenance and servicing the error code, Jack told me they would learn more about the issue by 1600 hours. I was disappointed since I drove from Brentwood to Dublin to discover the lengthy waiting period, especially since I explained to the representative on the phone in the service department that I would be waiting until the repair was complete. I had no way of getting home. Luckily, a co-worker was able to help pick me up and welcome me to her home until the car was complete. Because of the device in the car, I was able to see when the vehicle was turned on and moved to start service, which was not until 1412 hours. I dropped off the car at 1015 hours. Next time, I would prefer a later appointment if they weren't available to start service until 2 PM.
For maintenance, I was approximately charged $691.24 which included taxes for the listed service provided in the images attached to my yelp review.
The technician started service at 1412 hours. The call I received to pick up the car was at 1543 hours. Jack explained technician said the error code was clear. The vehicle only required a software update. How did Dublin Chevrolet finish all that service so quickly? Oil change, rotation of tires, conditioning the fuel, etc., etc., etc., as listed in the photos attached, how did they check the error code so fast?
At 1744 hours, I returned to Dublin Chevrolet Service Department, picked up the vehicle, and headed home. During my ride home, the error code message popped up again on my device. (Pictures attached) I feel 50/50 about the service I received. read more
