BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! THE OLD BATE AND SWITCH IS ALIVE AND WELL AT DUBLIN MAZDA!!!!!!! On 1/9/2021 we took out on our adventure to purchase a new car. After looking at some other dealerships we decided to go to Dublin Mazda to inquire about the Mazda 3 hatchback. We were approached by a salesman by the name of Elvis Nessari. Elvis was very helpful and seemed very knowledgeable about his products (which adds to the confusion). We specifically told Elvis we were only interested in a 2020 model due to the offered incentives. Elvis stated he understood and showed us his selection. We elected to take the car we were interested in on a test drive. We were pleased with the car and wanted to sleep on our decision. We asked for a copy of the window sticker and off we went. On the way home we discussed the pros and cons of the Mazda and before we pulled into our driveway we had made the decision to purchase the car. That's when things got interesting. I looked at the copy of the window sticker that Elvis provided. Right away I noticed the sticker was for a 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchback. However, the document detailed the vehicle we had taken for a test drive, It listed the "heads up display" and 19" black rims, both of which was on the car we had driven. I was really confused, because this was the same car Elvis told us was a 2020, the car we really wanted and the same car that we sat in Elvis office for over 45 minutes going over the final numbers. Realizing the window sticker was for a 2021 I called back to Dublin Mazda and spoke with Alex the Sales Manager. I told Alex about the mix up with the window sticker and asked him to email me the correct one. At this point I had assumed this was a simple mistake. However, then I received the email from Alex. I noticed that the trim lines were different. This car did not have the "heads up" display or the 19 inch black rims, (both were things we told Elvis we really liked when we came back from the test drive). There were also other differences between the two cars, like the Preferred had "leather like" seats and the Premium had leather seats and finally the price point for the Premium was a couple thousand more than the Preferred. Making the deal even less attractive because we were now settling for a car with less incentives which meant less savings. That's when it hit me! This no longer felt like a mistake. This was more than just a mix up of window stickers. Dublin Mazda showed me a product, let me test drive that product and we spent almost an hour coming to an agreement for the cost of said product and at no time did Elvis say and or give any impression that the car we had driven was not the car that he intended to sell us. Had I not noticed the window sticker Dublin Mazda would have sold us a car that was less equipped, and less expensive than the model we thought we were purchasing. WHY? Could it be, this is a normal practice for Dublin Mazda? There are no body changes between the 2020, and 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchbacks, maybe people don't really notice the subtle differences. Could it be because both me and my better half are African American and therefore it was okay to provide us with a less than honest service. Either way my experience did not "feel" right. We will still purchase our Mazda, but Dublin Mazda is not an option. read more

This specific review is for the service department, I've always brought my car in for service here and every time, these guys do one hell of a job making sure my car is in tip top shape. They do a thorough inspection and they give me a great car wash afterwards. The icing on the cake was when I brought my car in a couple of weeks ago. Jesus, the service manager helped me, he noticed that my tires were missing one wheel lock in each tire. I didn't even realized it, but he was extremely attentive in the matter and he explained to me that it wasn't safe. I really appreciated it because I just got my tires done in a different place. Brought my car in for routine oil change, filter replacement, and tire rotation. I had them check my brakes. I actually thought they needed to be replaced for two years now. We caught it before it caused damage to the rotors. Since the work cannot be completed before the end of the day, I was lent a 2018 Mazda 3 for Sunday for Monday return. It was fun driving the new car since it was a car I had been fond of since the redesign. Paul Carozza helped me throughout the entire process. He had pulled up the loaner by my car so I can easily transfer some of my much needed cargo. When I came back to settle the score, he was able to find me some discounts. Every little bit (of savings) count this time of year. His shift was over. He was ready to go but that was when I remembered I had left my magnetic vent clip in the other car. Mazda had a "Essential Car Care Program for Educator" which offered a free oil change, interior/exterior cleaning and inspection. It was nearby and we needed service so I made an appointment. It ended up being a big waste of time because we did NOT get the service offered. 1. Old signage without pertinent information: there is a sign at the Service Entrance that says you have to call (but no number was listed) but you actually don't have to call and can walk right in. 2. Mobile app lacks information: After arrival, the advisor said that they do not have tools to service my car, a Toyota Prius. The advisor said it's listed on their website. I double checked this and did not see where this information appears when booking. I did see this in the program guidelines, which says "the following vehicles which are not eligible: exotic vehicles, classic car vehicles, off-road vehicles, and vehicles with greater than 8-quart engine oil capacity or any other vehicles with special manufacturer requirements or that require specialized tools or training." I suppose I'm not aware of how special my car is...? 3. Advisor unhelpful: If you only service Mazdas, then have a sign that say so. When you see cars pulling into the entrance that's not a Mazda, let the customer know instead of making them wait just to then tell them they cannot be helped. Also, no tools to do the oil change doesn't mean the interior/exterior cleaning and inspection can't be done (which I signed up for). Overall, bad experience and seems like the program is false advertisement. read more

This review is a reflection of my experience with the service center and not the sales team. I bought my car from this dealership back in 2016 and have loyally taken it there for maintenance without questioning cost and never shopping around. A couple years ago we were due for new tires and asked for recommendations from the service center. They recommended the same tires that were on the car when we bought it and since we didn't have any issues for the last 40k miles with those tires, we agreed to go ahead with them. Fast forward to today and the tires barely lasted 2 years and did not even reach 25k miles. I asked the service center why these same tires lasted only 25k miles this time around and they said that they typically don't recommend those tires because they are too soft. I was never told this when purchasing the tires and would have definitely considered other options if I had this information at the time. Unfortunately, they did not offer any solutions other than purchasing new tires through them. I would highly recommend going somewhere else for ongoing maintenance of your Mazda. Also purchased a car from the Honda dealership next door which has the same owner. Loyalty is not valued here. I'm glad I found this out now before purchasing the cx-90 we had our eyes on. read more

Dan is the man. Brought my used CX5 from him. Such a sweet guy who took the time to really get to know my wants and needs like a good salesman should. Answered all my questions without beating around the bush. Seems sincere in wanting customer to get what they want and need. His manager who stepped in to try and close the deal did not make anyone in my family feel warm and fuzzy. Seems like he should. As I too am a sales manager, I believe my job is to help my rep. Not to lose the deal and not to bulldoze to the close. Build some rapport like Dan did and maybe we would have had a deal. And don't shake hands especially with what's going on. I stopped by Dublin Mazda to do a quick test drive of the zippy Mazda 3. As soon as I walked in, George immediately came up and offered to help. Even though I was on a limited time schedule, George was happy to accommodate me and let me take the car for a spin. After a nice test drive, I shared with him that I had an appointment later that day with Fremont Mazda because it seemed like they had the best lease deal. Yesterday I talked with a sales rep Keith Akbar who was quick to try to close the sale on the phone. Once I drove 45 minutes to get to Dublin for the test drive today 5/5/2020 he asked me if I wanted to look at other cars. Had to pry out of him why - turns out the manager Ken has been using it for a week and it was dirty. I let Keith know I was coming by almost a day ahead of time to come look at the car. Said it would take an hour to get it ready when they made a point of setting an appointment but didn't honor their end. Waste of time. Sad that during this time where people don't have jobs this dealership doesn't care for anyone's business. I came in today with heavy interest in a Certified Pre-Owned 2018 Mazda CX-5 & I'm so satisfied with my experience that I wanted to share it as soon as possible. The entire staff was amazing. From Sam Samaha (general sales manager) to Erin Vikjord (sales) to I believe his name was Harry (the financial manager), everyone was so nice and helpful and absolutely attentive. I bought my car from Michael Barrilleaux (pronounced Barlow) Dublin Mazda and I couldn't ask for a better salesperson or customer service. I was planning on buying a new car but when he showed me a pre-owned SUV CX30 that just arrived, I decided on that one, a 2021. Fast forward to a few days ago when my car wouldn't start. I called Michael and he actually drove to our house and jump started it at no charge!! Amazing customer service. The battery worked fine for 2 days, wasn't driven yesterday and this morning it wouldn't start again so I called Michael again and even though it was his day off, he came over again and jump started it!! We purchased a 2012 Hyundai Sonata from them about 6 months ago. Our sales person was friendly and we made the purchase without the extended warranty. Standard user car warranty is 30 days. After purchase we noticed immediately the left turn blinker was blinking much too fast (safety issue) and we never got a wheel lock key to remove the rims from car. I emailed twice and left phone calls with the sales manager and sales person. Nothing but crickets to help us! Two weeks ago the car suddenly died and we towed car to nearby Hyundai dealer in Concord. Engine had thrown a bearing but luckily there was still 400 miles left until the National recall warranty would expire. Hyundai agreed to replace engine. But Dublin Mazda never had shared that important news about the engine. Buyer beware, don't buy their used cars as you truly are on your own. I will not purchase from them in the future as they have not supported us. So who is to say they will treat us the same after a Mazda purchase? read more

I am absolutely blown away! I was a proud VW driver for 20 years, so when 2 of my best friends told me to call Tristan at Dublin Mazda, I was a bit hesitant to even consider it. However, the notorious electrical problems that plague VWs had begin to set in, promising hundreds in repairs, so call him I did and this set off one of the most positive changes I have made to my daily life in years. Until now, I had always believed that new cars were for suckers. I mean, you buy the car, drive it off the lot, then immediately lose thousands of dollars in value?! No thanks. So when Tristan told me that the rebates available actually made it smarter to buy a new car I was skeptical that he was just another salesman trying to guide me in the direction that best benefited him. I decided to hear him out anyway (then ignore him and buy a used car) and drive all the way to Dublin since I really trust my best friends who swore that he was the absolute best (I live in San Jose and I went during rush hour- no regrets). Tristan had my ideal colors and models waiting for me upon arrival. And this was fully timed to my needs, since he made himself available even when I moved the date up by a full 24 hours at the last minute. I test drove 3 different cars and he really WAS able to get me a deal on a brand new, high end Mazda that was almost identical in cost to a used one! Mind blown. I am now proudly driving the nicest car I have ever owned, peace out VW, and knowing that I got the best possible deal on it makes every day that much better. My fiscally conservative father couldn't believe the price I paid. And I think it goes without saying that his pride in my purchase still feels meaningful, despite my status as a fully grown woman. Tristan made the negotiating portion as seamless as possible. I was, most unfortunately, under water in my previous loan. Tristan got me a deal so amazing that both my previous loan AND those fun CA sales taxes were all absorbed, so with that kind of deal I would have been crazy not to buy the car. Most importantly, I could sense the entire time that I was working with a salesman who was on the level- he truly had my best interests at heart and he was fully committed to getting me into a situation that I could afford. He never tried to get me to purchase useless upgrades, and he went back to the manager multiple times to get the cost as low as possible. He 100% made me feel like family. My previous car was given a fair price and the new one was sold at the lowest price imaginable- what more could I ask?! Every day that I drive that car I am not only thrilled by how amazing it is (2018 Mazda 3 Touring Model Hatchback FYI) but I am comforted by my experience with Tristan and my absolute CERTAINTY that if anything comes up he has my back. He even promised me that if I'm feeling unhappy for any reason in 6 months, he will get me into something better for my needs. That won't be happening since this car and I got a thing goin on, but that kind of security on such a large purchase means the world to me. When I called Dublin Mazda to schedule an appointment, I was offered a time the very next day. When we took the car in, David was very friendly and got us all checked in. While the vehicle was there, they performed several inspections, which were reassuring, since we purchased the vehicle used and it will primarily be for our son to drive.
