We had such a great experience at Dumpling Wang! The service was wonderful, and the interior is absolutely gorgeous. At first, we were a little disappointed because so many of the menu options were pork, which we can't have. But the chicken soup dumplings and braised lamb noodle soup completely made up for it! This is a great spot for having a good dine-in meal. Plenty of seatings. They even have booth seatings, extra plus. Very nice big space. Nice decor. Great for any occasion. Not too noisy. I went for early dinner and not too many people yet, which was nice. Staff were friendly. The server/front desk guy kept checking to make sure my water was filled, but I didn't drink much water because I had soup already. Appreciated it though. Good service. How's the food? I tried a few items: pork xiao long bao, shrimp and luffa xiao long bao, Shanghai-Style Shepherds Purse Wonton soup and liver and kidney noodles. The xiao long bao and the noodles were decent. I couldn't taste a big difference between the ones with just pork and the ones with shrimp, pork and luffa, but plain pork comes in 8 pc and the other is 4pc, so just pork is probably fine. The shepherds purse wontons were just okay. It's a slightly thicker skin than most other wontons. The broth is mild. If I had to choose between xiao long bao and wonton, then the xiao long bao was much better. They have chili oil, vinegar and soy sauce at each table. I used the chili oil for a little bit of a kick. I had the iced sweetened soy milk too. That was pretty good. Definitely a good add to the meal. Overall, a good place to eat at if you wanted to gather and chat with some friends in LIC. They didn't rush the table. The food all came out so fast. I ate in under an hour. read more

We came in one day last week with high expectation given the good reviews online but we were let down! I want to say the food mediocre at best if not below average. We tried a few things and nothing really stands out. Pork Xiao Long Bao tastes okay but the meat texture inside was so mushy/watery. Shiitake Mushroom & Pork Sticky Rice Shaomai was bland, and the Scallion Egg Pancake really oily. Fried Spring Rolls w/ Napa Cabbage & Shredded Pork was fine, and the Shredded Pork & Greens Lo Mein was alright. Although the food came out pretty fast, but the service wasn't there. I had to ask 3 times, that's to flag down 3 different servers to finally get our water refill. This place has been opened for a few months now and they should have worked out the kinks and flaws. I live in the neighborhood. This is now one of my neighborhood joints. Have gotten both takeout and seated lunch/brunch a couple times now. Great kid-friendly option since they open at 10am on weekends and have a ton of seating, and space for strollers. I would never travel out of my way to come here, so lol at the tiktokers thinking this is supposed to be a trendy place. It's honestly well priced for the neighborhood. The only other comparable place is Dim Sum Palace. Not sure where you get better dumplings or XLBs or beef roll pancakes, and at least they are fresh (Dim Sum palace is just reheated frozen food). Overall I was satisfied with my dinner! It was reasonably priced especially for LIC. The bad reviews almost scared me from trying, but I'm glad I went. The XLB was definitely the best item! It was really juicy, but not a lot of meat filling. If they increased it by 50%, it would be really good. I didn't think the wrapper was that thick (coming from someone who never eats the wrapper), I ate 90% of the wrapper here. The worst was the scallion pancake. It was too much dough and not enough scallion flavor for me. The noodles were fine as well. It wasn't mind blowing, but we ate all of it. The snow pea tips were a tad too salty, but wasn't as oily as other places. The wontons in peanut sauce were very veggies heavy, a bit shocking at first but I sill tasted meat so I didn't mind. I didn't like the sauce because I don't like peanut/sesame based sauce, but it was pretty light so I was able to dip into my own soy sauce/vinegar and enjoyed it that way. I got an unsweetened soy milk and tasted like how I expected. We also got the sweet tofu dish for dessert, surprisingly not that sweet! If they added ginger and made the syrup a tad bit thicker, this would be great. I'd revisit if I'm in the mood for XLB and doesn't want to commute far. The food came out really fast. We came during the grand opening week on Wed - it was relatively full but we didn't have to wait for a table. We ordered the pan fried pork and chive dumplings, pork soup dumplings, Shepherd's Purse and Pork Wontons, scallion oil noodles, pea shoots, and soy milk. I thought all the food was decent - it's nothing mind blowing but a solid option and adds some nice variety to the Chinese food options in the area! The service was pretty slow - the noodles came out somewhat fast but then we had to wait 30+ min for our next dishes to arrive. I wish the menu had more pictures or the count of dumplings included so you knew what the portion size was. Given that it's in their first official week, I'd definitely give them the benefit of the doubt and hopefully they'll work out some of these issues over time! read more

I tried this place out with a friend and thought the food was average. The xiao long baos were not bad but the skin on their dumplings is quite thick. My noodle dish was supposed to come with broth, but when they brought it to my table, it was the dry version. A worker fixed it for me and brought it back, but my noodles ended up sticking to each other. I'm not sure if they ended up just pouring broth over my noodles. The broth was pretty good, but I don't think that the taste of the pork and potatoes paired well with the broth. This place has been all over my Tiktok so it was on my list to try. I decided to come here with my mom on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty empty. We got seated immediately and the staff was very friendly. You do order your food on an ipad and the food came out extremely quickly. The menu was a little on the small side but there was a decent amount of items. -Pork XLB: This was pretty medicore, the flavor was alright, there was a decent amount of juice in the XLB but it really wasn't that special. -Fresh Eel Noodle with fried egg: The flavor of this was actually really good. The noodle was very flavorful and not soggy. I do think that it is a little expensive to add another topping on top of the noodle -Scallion pancake: This was very crispy but once again not too special. -Cold Sweet Soy Milk: This was very refreshing Overall - I think that they have a lot of potential since they have so much seating in there but the menu was pretty limited. read more

i have been seeing mixed reviews about this place on tiktok and red note, with many mentioning high prices for the amount of filling in the dumplings, but i still wanted to see for myself. we ordered a variety of dishes, from dumplings and wontons to vegetables and shumai. we had a long night, so we were starving. i think the best thing we ordered was actually the soy milk, since everything was just okay. you can get dumplings anywhere else. and they would likely be better, which feels like a harsh thing to say. the filling for all the dumplings and wontons was not flavorful enough, and the fillings' portion sizes were indeed small. but who knows, my only credentials is that i love anything remotely similar to a dumpling. the only reason i am giving a higher rating is because of the service from one of the aunties. the service overall was not superb compared to other restaurants, but she made us feel welcomed and made sure we got the right order. overall, there are many, many places in the area that have better dumplings, even if they don't necessarily specialize in them. read more

Went on a Saturday night around 7:30pm, and the place was packed. We entered our name, party number (it was just 2 of us), and phone number into a tablet in the front and they text you with a number. The tablet also displays how many people are ahead of you. We waited for 15 minutes before getting a text that our table was ready. Once you're at the table, they bring out water and a tablet for you to enter your order. We selected the pork xiao long bao, pork/crab xiao long bao, signature single toppings noodle (we picked the spicy pork & chicken mince topping, dry noodle, and a fried egg for an extra $1.95), sweet tofu pudding, and an herbal tea. The pork xiao long bao came out first, with the noodles and tofu pudding coming out in quick succession. The pork XLB come with 8 to an order. The skin was a little thick but the broth was hot and flavorful. The noodles were tasty, but I felt they were a little skimpy with the minced meat topping. We had chosen the non-spicy version, but next time we will try the noodles spicy. The tofu pudding wasn't too sweet, which I prefer. It wasn't very visually appealing, though, because there were a lot of smaller bits of tofu. The crab/pork XLB came out last. They are bigger than the pork ones and only come 4 to an order. I felt that the skin on these were thinner and the broth had a mild crab flavor. Overall, it was a good meal. The food came out in a timely manner. The servers were friendly and came around a few times to clear off plates and refill water. The restaurant had its grand opening earlier in the week, and I hope it gets better with time. The skin of the xiao long bao we got was very dry and four to an order and the steamed vegetable dumplings looked unappetizing. The egg rolls were crispy on the outside and the inside of the roll layer was moist as opposed to flaky.
