Their feta alone gets 5-stars itself. Everything else is beyond exceptional as well. Food - got the Grilled Chicken Souvlaki sandwich and Steak Fries. Their portions are fairly large, so I was able to take some home and enjoy it again. As mentioned, their feta is amazing. The souvlaki sandwich was PACKED with a bunch of meat and vegetables, so wasn't able to really eat as a sandwich, but that didn't bother me at all. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly. Their steak fries were delicious as well! Service - Super friendly, accommodating, and just a dang delight. So respectful and professional. Ambiance - [[HIGHLIGHT]]A very cute spot where you order your food first then take a seat in their small and very intimate dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But really cool that your food is being prepared on the other side of the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I get why my sister loves this place and the diners inside looks very satisfied as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to find myself near another location so I can have it again.

Most Recently: July 19, 2025 | Downtown LA | Dune is my go-to Sandwich shop, as they definitely know how to prepare a memorable sandwich and a mouthwatering experience! Yum!! Pickled Beet Sandwich | Shared | Top of the line delicious, as I also absolutely love beets! The Beet Sandwich is my absolute favorite sandwich! The incredibly rich flavor of it all is the best, both mouthwatering and easily making you crave the next bite! The ciabatta, bread is delicious and thick enough to hold the ingredients, including the pickled beets, boiled egg, feta, kalamata olives & so much more goodness, which makes the sandwich a winner! Falafel Sandwich | Shared | Delicious, hearty & mouthwatering! The house bread filled with falafel, tahini, radishes, hummus, seasonal greens, onions...is an amazing medley of ingredients! I also highly recommend this sandwich! Locations | [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've dined indoors, as well as outdoors at this Downtown LA location, and have also ordered to go![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been to the Atwater Village location, which has a large outside patio area; no dining inside![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating | Experienced the inside of the restaurant, which was cozy, loved the variety of music, as well as the beautiful flowers on the tables![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have also enjoyed the outside front patio, which is right on the sidewalk![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Customer Service | Both friendly & attentive! Overall | I truly love this restaurant, as well as the Beet sandwich, it's definitely one of the kind! I'm always excited to go to Dune whenever I'm craving a sandwich!

    Hummus & Fried Chicken Plate

I ordered this via Postmates and am so glad I decided to give this a try. The fried chicken plate is so good! And so filling. I love the vibrant colors of all the different items on the plate and how the portion is decent for the price. $20 for the plate was steep at first but I was glad to see how much stuff is included. The fried chicken is perfectly cooked and the hummus is good! The rice and pickled veggies are also a nice touch to finish the dish off. :) I like the flat bread that comes with the order. There's a perfect amount of different flavors of each item on the plate. I've also tried the falafel plate and it was good. I definitely prefer the falafel overall because they were perfectly cooked! Crispy and not dry compared to other places I've tried. The filling is full and the texture wasn't hard. My only complaint to this would be I NEVER get utensils which is frustrating lol. Of all the times I've ordered takeout, I never get utensils! Definitely recommend!

Wow, what a gem. I've only been here twice, but both times the food was executed perfectly, the service was fantastic, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the vibes were great[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The falafel was perfect. Moist, (NOT DRY) with crispy outside and spiced perfectly. You have to try to believe, but their fried chicken plate/sandwich is unbelievable. The grilled is juicy and flavored super well. The sandwich is loaded with protein, and the plate has so many things on it, you won't be disappointed

I was recommended this spot for falafel so I came to check it out. The good: - The woman at the cashier was friendly - The food comes out fast - [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a water jug at the front with clean cups for easy access[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] - The takeaway is packed really well As for what I liked less, the falafel is just average: it isn't bad, but lacks seasoning. And the tahini on top is not enough to truly enhance the dish. The falafel wrap had good texture but again pretty much the same. This location isn't bad by any means, the falafel just did not meet my expectations.

I've heard the hype for Dune and decided to check it out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is pretty small and we end up sitting too close to comfort to other diners when it's packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the hummus and grilled chicken plate. I requested for the chicken to be cut on my behalf. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away by the food like others have been. The chicken was super dry and salty, the rice was so bland even when there's so much seasoning and ingredients on top of it, and the salad was just tart. Flat bread was amazing though - I would come strictly for them only.

I visited Dune Downtown LA with a friend and overall had a really solid experience. I ordered the cardamom cold brew -- and WOW. It was out of this world. Every sip was smooth, aromatic, and packed with the perfect hit of cardamom. I genuinely savored every drop. We shared the hummus & falafel plate and the fried chicken plate. The falafel plate was the standout -- crispy, flavorful falafel with fresh, delicious sides. I loved everything on that plate and would definitely order it again. The fried chicken was just okay in my opinion -- not bad, but it didn't wow me like the falafel did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is small but has some indoor seating, and we were lucky to find street parking nearby.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The guy who helped us was friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely return, especially for the falafel and to try the regular chicken plate next time. And that cardamom cold brew? 100% worth coming back for on its own.

While in DTLA, I decided to grab some lunch at Dune. It's been on my to try list since they've been in Atwater, so I'm glad I finally had a chance to try it here. I opted for the meze plate to go. The food was really delicious and I actually really enjoyed it, however, I would've enjoyed it more if the items were in small different dishes. By the time I got home, my to go plate was everywhere and everything was a little mushed. Both the chicken and the falafel in the meze plate was really good. My favorite was their pita bread. OMG, it was so good! It was dense and rich in flavor. I might wanna try the sandwich next time I'm at Dune just to try something different.

Good food/service. We ordered their grilled chicken plate and steak plate. Served on a big plate. Steak was really good soft and juicy. Chicken is good too. Service is quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loving the ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very small restaurant with only a few tables and counter seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mostly a takeout place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was glad we dined in though, we were the only ones.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great and the food couldn't have been better! Everything was so good and well portioned. If I'm in the area I'm definitely coming back!

    Hummus & Grilled Chicken Plate*
    Randy L.

We came in with a group of 5 people for lunch at 12 PM and ordered the Hummus & Grilled Chicken Plate. The plate has tons of flavor from every bite, with each ingredient serving its own purpose. Everything was perfectly balanced. Nothing too salty, sweet, spicy, or savory. The portion sizes are pretty large. There are small outdoor and indoor seating, with some tables only able to hold 2 people at a time. Summary: - CLEANLINESS. Very clean and organized. There are some tables inside and outside. - COSTS. $$ Decently priced for the quality and amount served. (About $22 per plate at the time of this writing.) - CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff were very fast and professional. - FOOD QUALITY. The ingredients were freshly prepared. You can tell none were prepackaged or left sitting there for hours. - FOOD QUANTITY. A large-sized portion. - WAIT TIME. We went in around 12 PM, which is generally the peak lunch time. Quick service. 10-15 Minute wait.

They had utensils, napkins, and sauces with containers while you wait. I ordered the falafel bowl and pali salad in case the bowl itself wasn't enough. It did take longer than the other orders but once I got it, we sat outside where they had a few tables and chairs. The bowl looked fresh and vibrant, so many colors and a decent amount of falafel. I tried their white and mazbout sauces on the salad. I'm glad it had spinach as it helped reduce water from seeping out. The falafel was slightly spicy since I am terrible with spic r tolerance but the sauce made it very balanced. I also got to try someone's fries and it was super delicious, the spices they used on the fries were flavorful and the fried were very crispy and smooth inside. Overall, very nice quick lunch, we arrived before they opened right at 12pm and avoided the lunch rush! Very affordable prices as well.

I finally went in today and sadly, was not only disappointed, my fantasy of Falafel King was destroyed forever. I know Benito used to work for Falafel King, but this place is nothing like it. The service was horrible. The guy behind the little counter was not nice at all. In fact he was rude. And didn't like if you asked him questions. But that aside, sitting in this little tiny restaurant was not a good feeling. We were the only ones there. They have a seating area outside, I'm guessing for overflow - yet, the table and chairs were right there in the middle of the restaurant. Piled up. They didn't even bother to take it outside. Put all that aside - we get to the food. One of the best things Falafel King has were the "chips", which were battered slices of potatoes that were deep fried. These were slices of potato, they were potato chips. Thin. No "meat" on them, if you know what I mean. And sadly, they were fried either early this morning or last night. Terrible, cold, hard, no taste - not even salt. We move on the falafel - which tasted good. The taste of the falafel itself was good, but the oil dripping down my hand an face was not. I blame that on the oil not being hot enough when he put the falafel into the oil. Next, the actual shwarma is not really shwarma (like you all know it). There was no revolving slab of meat where the fat melts into the meat and makes it so so special. No. This was a little baggy of already cooked meat with no spices on it thrown on the plancha and heated up. Hard and tasteless. Very disappointing. I picked it out of my pita and ate the salad with tehina and spicy eggplant (which WAS tasty). The pita is also a thin hard pita - not the nice fluffy type. I didn't finish my food, and my friend didn't finish the food, as you can see in the pictures. Sorry to give it a 1 - but to say you have ANY connection to "Falafel King" is a disgrace. Sorry if I sound brutal. I tell it like it is.

Out server Emily was a delight. So friendly and accommodating (and thanks again for the Baklava!) We had the lamb shwarma plate and the fried chicken plate, both with hummus. Also a side of the Za'atar/sumac fries. Fries came out first PIPING hot, crispy, seasoned perfectly nom nom. The entrees quickly followed. The lamb was so tender and juicy and bursting with flavor. And the fried chicken was AMAZING. Shwarma that is breaded with an amazing mixture and fried. Genius! The plates also came with hummus topped with whole chickpeas (YUM), dilled rice, a cabbage salad and other greens, grilled pita bread, olives and my personal favorite, pickled radishes. Many reviews describe them as beets (which I also love) but these are radishes and they pair so well with the rich meat. An umami bomb! Portions HUGE (we have a full meal waiting in the fridge) and prices very reasonable. Patio is a very fun hang with pretty lights. My only knock is on the chairs which are not exactly "comfy." But that's a trivial issue. Service was attentive and staff so friendly and helpful. I can't remember Emily's colleague's name but shout out to her and her Rasputin's shirt (yay Berkeley vibes.) She was great. We will definitely be back at Dune soon!

Been passing by Dune for a while and finally decided to try it…read more Parking was a bit of a struggle. Could be because it was Sunday and there was a Farmers Market nearby, but still something to consider. We ordered the Lamb Plate ($26). Portion was solid and the plate is actually pretty interesting -- lots of different sides (flatbread, greens, olives, pickled turnips, etc.), so it doesn't feel boring. That said, the lamb itself was just a few small pieces and it was ground. I would've preferred more actual meat Tried the rosemary lemonade too, but didn't really taste any rosemary. Just a regular lemonade, slightly sweet and sour. Also you pay upfront right after ordering. We sat outside on a small patio facing Glendale Blvd. It's a tight space, and at one point someone from the street was walking around nearby talking to themselves, which made the experience a bit less comfortable. Staff was friendly and service was quick though, no issues there. Also, no public restroom, so keep that in mind. Overall, not bad. I was hungry, so I finished everything pretty fast, but it didn't really stand out enough for me to make a special trip again.

Love love love this spot. I've dined in numerous times and also ordered delivery from here…read more The food is always shockingly delicious! Each individual item is great on its own but the combination of flavors is what really takes it over the top for me. I usually get the kefta plate, but decided to try the shewarma this time and it was great. Boyfriend loved his salmon plate and insisted we come back :) We also tried the cinnamon halva shakes (not pictured) which were interesting, but not what either of us expected. Very creamy and not too sweet, with the tahini flavor overpowering the cinnamon. The ambiance of this spot is great - love the intimate patio area with string lights. There was a fire going in the stove too which was super cozy. One of my go to classy-casual spots!

Dinner was delicious during my first visit to Mizlala. The Chicken Pargiyot was well seasoned and enough for two portions easily (in case you wanna share.) The rice...meh. Hummus and their fluffy pita...delightful. We also really enjoyed the Sumac fries and garlic sauce. Once you arrive, go inside to order and then back outside to seat yourself in the patio area. It's very cute with a garden'y feel. Wonderful for summer nights, but the flies and random gnats are OVERLY annoying while eating. They do not have inside seating. Service was lovely and they even made wine suggestions with my meal. Parking is potentially an issue, as the restaurant is in the heart of a residential neighborhood. Be aware of street signs.

I finally had the chance to stop in for a solo early dinner, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. I ordered the Lule Kabob Combo ($22), which included skewers of minced beef and chicken, rice, veggies, pita, hummus, and a side salad. The highlights of the meal were definitely the salad and the grilled tomato; the pomegranate seeds in the rice were also a nice touch. However, the meats weren't to my taste--the chicken had an odd aftertaste, and while the beef was better, neither really worked for me. Adding the provided sumac and lemon helped, but I wouldn't order the kebabs again. Additionally, the hummus lacked creaminess, and the pita tasted like it was mass-produced rather than fresh. On the positive side, the portion sizes are very generous for the price point, and I left feeling full. I also have to mention that the patio is adorable and very "Instagrammable," so it's a great spot if you're looking for a photo-friendly environment. A quick note for future visitors: they are currently having issues with their card reader and are requesting cash or Zelle. It felt a little unusual to be rung up on a register only to pay via Zelle, but it wasn't a major deal. While I appreciated the atmosphere and value, the food itself just wasn't for me, so I likely won't be returning.
