    Good old fashion steakhouse... it's good to see they're not all extinct. Woodfire grill out in the open so you can see your steak being cooked. My filet was tender and moist with a great taste. They even have a cigar room if you want to eat while you're smoking.

    When you walk in the door you're greeted by a huge fireplace that looks warm and welcoming. You enter into a large room that reminds you of the old timer restaurants your grandparents use to take you to. We had a lovely attentive waitress. She was great. The dining room was pretty empty for a Monday 5pm dinner. But it was our first time here so we didn't mind the quiet atmosphere. While sitting in the dining room you see a wood burning grill. So you get to see your steaks being cooked over an open flames. We ordered calamari and fried mushrooms. The calamari was very crunchy and I wasn't a fan of the breading. The mushrooms were battered and fried. Not much to report on that. They were what you would expect. We both ordered the 10 oz ribeye. I got potato soup and he received a Caesar salad. The potato soup was not homemade. But tasted like it came from a can. The Caesar dressing on the salad tasted like thousand island with a twist. It was definitely not what we were expecting. I didn't eat the soup and my partner ate half of the salad before giving up. Now observing the grill master pull the steaks out of the fridge. That just made me want to walk out. I observed him pounding the meat on the counter, remove it from a plastic bag with his bare hands then toss on the grill. After man handling the meat he proceeded to touch tickets , cooking utensils, his body, other produce before disappearing into the back. Not once did he wear gloves or wash his hands. Now on to the food. The green beans and spinach definitely came from a can and had zero flavor. The au gratin potatoes are cubed potatoes in a cheese wiz type of sauce. The sautéed mushrooms are whole and have zero flavoring. The steaks were bland but cooked at the perfect temp. We ended up taking the food home to our dogs.

    This place is totally outdated, but the prices are unbeatable, and the food was a reasonably priced and delicious. I didn't enjoy my brisket and they were happy to replace it for me with something else. They definitely need a little facelift in this restaurant. It smells like somebody has been smoking there for 50 years.

    For the price, you cannot beat this Dallas staple! This is not the most elegant steakhouse around but it has been in business for many years for a reason. The steaks are cooked in an open kitchen inside the restaurant which gives a lovely smell throughout. I got the bacon wrapped filet with a caeser salad and a baked potato. My husband also got some fried okra and i think mac and cheese. Solid food and a nice family restaurant for a great price- it was something like $17 or 18 each for everything. We will be back.

    Amazing food, steak was cooked perfect and medium and was very cheap for a big mean with two sides, it was my birthday too so the banana pudding was my choice it was amazing, the service 10/10 they were very kind and were always there when needed. The restaurant was very calming and beautiful inside. 10/10 would come back again!

    Love! Love! Love! Love everything about this Restaurant! The Texas ambience, service, food, & entertainment from the fine gents making the steaks. Oh yes & the permeating scent of cooking meats! The sides are as good as they look in this picture. Our waiter said 94 year old Mr Dunston still shows up everyday & you see why the facility is impeccable. Enjoyed this Lunch so much, went back for dinner.

    The service was wonderful. We were a party of 5. We did make reservations and were seated immediately. The bar manager Tabatha made our drinks! Dirty martini, strawberry margarita and a non alcoholic pina colada. The pina colada was huge and delicious. Our waitresses Tammy checked on us often and was very friendly. We will definitely go back there. The restaurant was clean , prices were reasonable and food portions were huge and delicious.

    All good food. Service staff the best. So nice and never rushed. Food cooked to order. Great family and friends meeting.spot. good bar.

    I know this is a steakhouse, but I've come here three times for the big D burger. Hands-down one of the best burgers I've ever eaten!!!

    Food is alright. Service is a little slow. Just be weary that the food may be undercooked. Make sure you cut into your food first.

They bagged it up for him, and he left it behind. A $78 steak, not even touched. The mashed potatoes were great actually. Brussel Sprouts were the worst I've ever tasted. I think the poor server saw we weren't enjoying dinner and brought us out a complimentary chocolate tart, said to celebrate their married couple. It too was not good. Most everything was left half eaten or barely touched. I've never felt like I just threw $500 in the trash can, as I did last night. The food looked good (as shown in the pictures below, but don't be fooled) Complete disappointment. I say this as someone who worked for a restaurant group of high end restaurants for many years.

At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Definitely a bit of a walk to get accommodated at the actual restaurant so valet seemed the most reasonably enticing for parking solutions. Well, I called and spoke with the lady at the front desk. I confirmed with this little girl FOUR TIMES IF 1. They had valet available today 2. If it was complimentary. Come to find out it was not complimentary. And $7 for parking just doesn't sit well with me when there are ample free options else where with satisfying beverage, meal, ambiance, and service. All of which, I DID NOT GET AT HAYWIRE. I come in and although I had a reservation that I was 10 minutes early for while noticing tables available, I was told by that same girl who lied to me about parking I needed to take a seat. Reassuring me that it would only take two minutes to be seated. 10 minutes later I see coupled and groups walking in and guess what? They were immediately sat. While I am waiting to be sat at one of the three clean tables I'm staring at. You literally can't taste anything because of both! I HATED these little tacos. Probably the worst I've ever had. Ever seen someone attempt to pinch a bit of salt to season and the entire top comes off?? These tacos. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak. He loved it (loves spicy and seasonings because he's Cajun) but I tried it and it was over seasoned. Again? Couldn't taste what I was eating. The mashed potatoes were divine. Enjoyed those! And then the green beans were tasteless. Hahaha what a joke. I ordered the barbacoa chilaquiles and it was literally too spicy to eat. Inedible. He truly saved what he could of the experience. Our group spent over $750 on food and drinks. The appetizers and sides were excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the entrees didn't live up to the same standard. One steak was overcooked and had to be sent back. By the time the replacement arrived, everyone else had already finished eating. The Salmon Diane was also dry and overcooked. To end the night, while we were waiting for our checks to be processed, Jason came over and told us the next reservation had arrived and that we needed to leave. We explained that we were simply waiting to pay, yet no effort was made to speed up the process by collecting our payment or offering to run the checks. It felt rushed and incredibly inhospitable, especially after everything that had already gone wrong. The only reasons this review isn't one star are Vlad and the excellent appetizers and sides. We've dined at many high-end restaurants, and this was by far one of the most disappointing service experiences we've had, especially for a special celebration. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.
