Didn't know what to expect considering I was about to eat ramen before boarding a train but I was pleasantly surprised! I asked them which was the most popular, sorry I don't remember, and I got that one. I was so surprised with how good it was! The meat was very tender and flavorful, the noodles had lots of flavor. If I had to nit pick, I thought there could have been more broth but that also would have been hard to eat on the train. I will return!

Located in the Moynihan food hall, this Eak Ramen is easy to get, open holidays, and easy to take away. If you're looking for a quick stop, catching a train ride, or staying nearby, it's a good stop for a hot, tasty, filling ramen. The Eak Ramen is a tonkotsu style ramen with spinach, raw onions, and pork over soup noodles. The onions are honestly odd and we took them right out but the soup was good. It's oily but also hot, salty, and just the right hit of filling on cold days. The chicken karaage was pricy but was good and had big pieces of meat. Just be sure to open the top right away to let out the condensation and keep the chicken from going soggy.

Manhattan, NY (midtown west - Moynihan Train Hall) - Moynihan Food Hall is more gourmet than the fast food options you'll find in adjacent Penn Station, and EAK serves up a very decent bowl of ramen. Like practically all the good ramen joints, this one is an import from Japan, where EAK (Machida Shoten) is a chain purveyor of Yokohama-originated iekei style ramen which uses a blend of tonkotsu and chicken shoyu for its broth, with thick straight noodles that are cooked wonderfully al dente and are perfectly chewy. The broth is indeed very rich and flavorful, and I like to add a seasoned egg with beautifully creamy yolk to enhance the experience. I've tried a variety of flavors and liked them all so far. The Tokyo Chicken broth is full of umami goodness. Oh So Hot! Miso has a good spice level and comes with a side of chili oil. While I loved the flavored noodles and garlicky unctuousness of the Zebra Shio broth, I did find it a bit salty. There are also a couple of vegetarian options available. The portion is on the smaller side and is served in a cardboard bowl for to-go convenience, but fits the price point of $14-$17 which is pretty reasonable for a high-quality bowl of ramen in the city.

I was craving ramen and decided to try EAK Ramen in Moynihan Hall. For the price, though, you can definitely get larger portions at other ramen spots around the city. Since it's located inside the station, the ramen is served in a paper bowl, which was more like an oversized cup than a traditional ramen bowl. The flavor of the signature shoyu ramen is good overall, but the broth is overloaded with chopped onions, which end up overpowering the broth. The noodle-to-broth ratio is also off: there isn't enough broth for the amount of noodles, so it's easy to finish the soup and be left with a bowl full of noodles. If you're in a pinch and really craving ramen, it's an okay option, but if you have the time, there are far better ramen spots in the city worth seeking out.

It's a solid 2.5-3; the broth was not great... too fatty, it's not the same as richness. It's just overly greasy... making the broth not worth slurping. Order and wait for your food. Packaged well. Grab a seat at the food hall. The pork belly was not good, thinly sliced but way more fat than meat. Overall, if you're hungry and craving a hot bowl of ramen... walk 2 blocks to Ichiran. But if short on time, then this will do before your train ride.

I was skeptical about trying this place because I didn't have signal in the food court to read the reviews and there are so many options down there. But I'm glad I took a leap of faith bc this was a flavorful bowl of ramen with perfectly al dente noodles. The broth is on the thicker side which really stick to the noodles to give them a better flavor. The meat was tender as well. I got the mild spicy miso and could have easily gone to medium spicy. I would consider giving 5 stars if there were more toppings. It can get pretty crowded during lunchtime but we were able to find a seat.

Flavorful ramen broth, although a tad salty for me. With good al dente noodles. Raw onions give a different texture but not used to having them in ramen. In a big enough bowl but surprised when I saw the portion, which was small. Located in the Moynihan Hall food court. Seating available. Clean restrooms. Weak to no cell signal whenever I am there.

During my trip to NYC EAK Ramen was one of the few places near my hotel that was open Christmas day. So, they get a couple stars just for being open and serving tourists like myself. The Oh So Hot Miso ramen was good. The chicken karaage was a large portion of deep fried chicken thighs. It wasn't great, the breading was soggy and oily, but was very filling.

Was craving some ramen while waiting for my train, so I decided to pay E.A.K. Ramen a visit. Was definitely surprised by the results! The Food: I went with the "Oh So Hot Miso Ramen" since I needed something spicy. The ramen came out surprisingly delicious for being in a train station. The ramen broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked nicely, and the portion was pretty decent. For a fast casual place, the ramen was pretty good. A little pricey, but that's due to the area. The Service: Service was pretty fast. Staff here were friendly. The Atmosphere: Plenty of tables to sit at, since it' an open space. Overall, a 4/5. Definitely worth a try if you are craving some ramen.

I ordered the EAK Shoyu to go, the service was friendly enough, and my order was ready within a few minutes. It took me about 10 minutes to get it back to my desk, but the ramen was still warm. I'm not a fan of raw onion and was surprised to see how much was in the bowl, but since the broth was a little salty, I think the onion helped to temper it, the flavors blended together really well. I loved the texture of the noodles, the spinach, and the pork. The portion size was a little small, but overall I really enjoyed it.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and ordered the E.A.K. signature ramen and the Tokyo chicken ramen. Both were delicious, the broth was spectacular. It was a bit on the salty side and the Tokyo chicken ramen did not have chicken. We had to go back and request them to add the chicken. The service was helpful and the space was clean. Grateful the ambiance allowed for several seating spaces. Overall, I'm impressed with this ramen especially considering it's at the train station. I would recommend. TLDR; flavorful ramen, with perfect broth. Would recommend their signature classic, the E.A.K. ramen.

I've been visiting the E.A.K. on 6th Ave. for quite a while, so I was excited to see this location open in Moynihan's food hall. Although the food hall area can be crowded, I have yet to be disappointed by the speed of the service at E.A.K. I tend to arrive here about fifteen minutes before my scheduled train, and that gives me plenty of time to order, pick up, and take the ramen for the ride. I love all of E.A.K.'s varieties of ramen, but in addition to that I love that they are one of the only ramen spots around not using plastic take-out containers. Their paper bowls are a smaller diameter, with nice, tall sides and are actually possible to eat out of relatively neatly on the go. I feel like someone must have put a decent amount of thought into this. I'd say the prices are on the high side of average for casual ramen dining, but quality of the food is excellent.

E.A.K. Ramen's seaweed flake fries; 5-10 minutes after receipt; freshly opened on the Amtrak train.

Came here for a to-go bite while waiting for my train. Service: great! Decor/Environment: good, sure! (Not sure how much say they got in the music, but I'm a fan of Bad Bunny) Food: I asked the waiter which was better--the fried rice or the seaweed flake fries. He said the fries, and if they were to go, he would fill it to the top but it would smoosh down. Got the food, boarded the train, opened the fries cup about 10 minutes after receiving: more mushy than fried & definitely weren't up to the top like he said. I'll grant that the steam from the still Very hot fries could have un-crisped them, but the volume definitely wasn't there. I'd give them another chance because they were so nice, but I think the food doesn't travel so well (surprising for food sold at a train station)-- so eat on-premise if possible! PS--yes, I do understand that I ordered French fries at a Ramen place. So what?

The spot is special (literally, you head below street level to get in), which somehow makes it feel even more like a NYC secret you're in on. Small, cozy, dimly lit in the best way, and staffed by people who are genuinely warm. We started with the tempura sweet potato fries and dumplings, both of which disappeared off the table fast. I went with the shio truffle ramen homemade chicken broth, homemade chicken chashu, half ajitama, bean sprouts, menma, shiso, truffle paste, and nori and it was easily one of the best bowls I've had in the city. The truffle paste takes it from "great ramen" to "why haven't I been here sooner," and the homemade chashu is so tender it practically melts before you even chew. Five bowls at the table, five very happy campers. Bonus: it's a quick stroll from Central Park, so pair a bowl here with an afternoon in the park for a genuinely great NYC day. I ordered the Paitan Ramen Deluxe, and it genuinely lives up to the name. The broth is silky, rich, and comforting without being overly salty which is exactly what a proper paitan should be. The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth.
