Fresh Bagels and Great Service! I have been coming here for years. They carry salt bagels (unlike other bagel shops). I also like that they have a variety of Coffee Urns (flavored and regular) for self service and the coffee is fresh. Today I ordered a Salt Bagel toasted with Lox Smear. Very fresh and really hit the spot. It was very busy, the line never stopped while I dined in and enjoyed my bagel. There is same staff I have seen in the past, very friendly. Its a place I like to go to for toasted bagels w/ many varities to choose from. Was on a breakfast run before my work shift and its so convenient and cheap. I'm glad I can have an option for my bagel that doesn't involve cream cheese. Coffee on the side is so fresh and that hawaiian hazelnut while walking back smelled so good. Was in same plaza for coffee and decided to give this place a try. Was easy to find parking near the front. Inside was spacious and had several seats. Although they were busy, being it was a Sunday in mid morning, the staff was very friendly and my wait to order was not long at all. I ordered the scored garlic begal toasted with lite cream cheese. The only thing that was slightly awkward standing inside to wait on your order, if you don't find a seat to inside. Here's the breakdown for just one bagel: * Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese -- $2.20 * Tomato -- $0.99 * Avocado -- $1.99 * Lemon Pepper -- $0.59 * "Open Face" -- $0.99 (which they said means you get more toppings, but in reality it just came split in half with the same small amount) * Extra Cream Cheese -- $0.99 Subtotal: $7.75 before tax -- yet this small, plain-looking bagel ended up part of a $22.65 total. For that price, I expected something full, fresh, and worth the add-ons -- not two thin halves with a few slices of avocado and tomato. The "open face" upcharge especially felt like a stretch, since the portions didn't reflect what was promised. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately the product didn't match the price. I won't be returning, and I'd recommend checking out another local bagel spot in Long Beach where you actually get what you pay for. read more

i am a frequent enjoyer of east coast bagel! its my go to treat to reward myself for going to all my classes. unfortunately it has been lacking a little lately in the spread quantity aspect. my go to's are jalapeno or lox spread and with the past few visits i've gotten about 30ish% less spread than i have in the past. i'll try ordering with extra spread next time tho to see if it makes a difference. service is always good even when they're in the middle of the rush, they always offer a good morning and are polite when ringing your order up! my reccs are: onion/plain/egg bagels toasted! also the jalapeno cream cheese has a nice heat to it read more

I ordered their ham and cheese bagel, not expecting much because it was one of their more simple options, but it was delicious and filling. I was lucky enough to have cash today to avoid the cc charge, but I would still stop by either way. The main part that wowed me was that it was clearly a local spot with several regulars and the customer service was awesome. The cashier and cook both knew a couple peoples names and greeted everyone who came in. They also wished me a happy Thursday on my way out. I will be returning to try more, as their pizza bagels and spreads look delicious. It was a great experience overall, and I think their welcoming attitude made my day. They were also extremely quick, maybe 3-5 minutes after I ordered, my food was ready. The interior is pretty cozy as well, and there is seating both inside and outside which is nice. read more

The receipt printer ran out of paper while we were paying (which is no problem at all from our standpoint) and the man at the register flipped out. He wasn't able to focus and multitask. We couldn't get an answer confirming our payment had gone through. At one point he even yelled an expletive out of frustration with the printer (which felt like an overreaction in and of itself but especially unnecessary with kids present). I have to imagine this isn't common since his reaction was so dramatic. We'd be open to trying it again because the food was so great.
