My friend seemed to enjoy his Cooper's Special. Didn't say much....guess he was too busy eating, Service was good. The assistant was very friendly and made sure our coffee cups were full. Our server came by after we were served to make sure everything was tasting good. There was one negative for me...I felt a bit rushed at the end of our meal. We wanted to enjoy a last cup of coffee...but an elderly gentleman (cashier/maybe owner) came by and removed some leftover plates. Most plates had been removed already. Maybe it wasn't his intention...but I felt like he wanted us to vacate the table since we were done eating. We did look to be sure no one was waiting to be seated before asking for that last cup of coffee. Ambience...old school diner with booths made mostly for groups of 4 or less. I ordered 3 French toast with ham steak ($15.95) and also ordered were the Hobo omelet ($18.95) & a Chef's Special omelet ($16.95). The french toast was great. The bread was soft with a slight crisp upon first biting into it. I can only imagine how much better it would be if we dined-in. We're gonna have to do that soon... And when I read 3 french toast, i expected 3 halves. Nope... You get 6 slices! Man... I forced myself to eat the very last piece of bread. I was so full. It's served with perfectly whipped butter on the side. The ham steak was a good size and had your typical smoked flavor. Great with ketchup. The Hobo omelet comes with ham, bacon, beef, sausage, American cheese , peppers, onions & tomatoes. It was a big omelet and came with some tasty bigger-cut hash browns. Not sure why it took me so long to try this place. But in all fairness, I didnt know about since way back. That's too bad cause it's my type of place. I'm sure we'll be back sooner than later. At the moment I let them know it was my mom's bday and that she is the boss. She finally chose a seat. While looking at the menu my mom was surprised and intimidated on the selection. Since she just wanted a simple pancake breakfast and coffee I pointed her in the right direction. But for me, I didn't know what I wanted since there were so many things to choose from. I usually tend to veer towards a Mexican style breakfast so I went with the huevos rancheros. (I do not recommend) My mother chose the Mon-Fri breakfast deal which gets to either 2 of pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs. There are other options to choose from within this deal. A Burbank establishment for many years- if you love old diners you'll love their food and their deals. The decor in this place is well loved, and there's nothing wrong with that. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. It gets pretty packed on the weekends so expect to wait, but they do their best to accommodate everyone. Parking is easy in the lot or on the streets. If you have a dog you can bring them and sit outside. My husband and I frequently split their largest omelette, which also comes with a side biscuit and potatoes, and it's great. I thought the restaurant looked very 1960s diner-esque...it was very charming. The omelette I ordered was Chili w/ onions and American cheese. It was very buttery-tasting...almost overpowered the chili. In retrospect, I should have gone with a veggie omelette and added chili on top b/c more vegetables is always better. The omelette came with hashbrowns and a side of biscuits. The hashbrowns were soft and the biscuits, warm and fluffy. It was a pretty decent brunch. The restaurant was crowded on a Saturday morning and most seats are booth or bar. The boothes all looked pretty tight-fitting to me, so I don't think this place is good for groups larger than 5. On cold days, I don't recommend the bar because it's by the door and it's freezing. Small, free parking lot plus street parking. The service here is eggs-ellent! read more

Staff was great and even though there was a wait, we were seated quickly since there was only 2 of us. We sat outside int he patio, and is was a beautiful day so we took in the sun. I had the chicken fried steak and to be honestly, it did not taste right. The steak was tough and overcooked. It seemed like they reheat it or something. The gravy was watery and had no taste. Sadly, I did not finish my food and majority of it got thrown out. My bf ordered the Monte Christo and that was actually pretty good. But then again, you can't go wrong with that. This is a very good local restaurant/diner. I stopped at two different restaurants prior, both had over an hour wait. I found this restaurant driving away from the second restaurant I visited. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the owner insured each guest got seated. The menu consisted of numerous breakfast items and sandwiches. We ordered sandwiches since we already ate breakfast (this restaurant is known for its omelettes, I will try one on next visit). We ordered the New Yorker and Steak sandwiches, both sandwiches were very good, and our servers were friendly and accommodating. The fries were just trash but it's a breakfast spot, do not get the fries The omelette was delicious but the hash browns could have been crispier. Overall an amazing place. We also ordered a waffle on the side and it was perfect!! Their butter is very good. I don't know if they make it or buy it but it took the waffle and toast to the next level. The owner greeted us and sat us right away within two minutes of being seated our drink orders were taken and shortly after our food orders. They have a wide selection of food and they have the classic breakfast that nowhere seems to have anymore. As wonderful as the food was, the service was even better. We interacted with the owner, his wife, and his son. And they were all warm and friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Great service! But my food had no redeeming qualities to my taste. I'm a very lenient person and I don't claim to be a gormont by any means, but I didn't find the hash browns to be cook through, they were mushy and not seasoned. I got biscuits with a side of gravy, the biscuits are super dense, not soft and fluffy as I was hoping for, then the gravy was slightly thin and salty with larger pieces of bacon and sausage. Lastly my entree was the hobo omelette and the eggs were overcooked, you can tell when the eggs are cooked on high heat and brown, wasn't the best omelette. For around the $25 mark, I was hoping for more in terms of quantity and especially quality, but I just didn't get that in this visit. I'm hesitant to return, maybe sometime next year. read more

Found this place just getting in from the airport. I read such good reviews and thought maybe I should try it. The hash browns were really good and everything else was mid diner food. I think they should have more selections of sauces on the menu besides salad dressing and pico de gallo, especially for the breakfast burrito. The man that was waiting on our table made a creamy hot sauce for us after asking how the food was and realizing the pico de gallo wasn't enough flavor for the burrito. It was really good and made with their habanero salsa (also good and very spicy). I ordered the breakfast sandwich with turkey (I realize now I don't like the combination since I've tried turkey and egg another time ) and it was okay. I think I'd try either a breakfast sandwich or a turkey sandwich. I'll try again next time for maybe French toast or pancakes. read more
