The fish was fresh and flavorful, and I loved that you can order nigiri one piece at a time--perfect for trying a bunch of different things without wasting food. Easy free 4-hour parking in the back too. Staff were friendly and the menu had pictures of most dishes, which made it super easy to order even on a first visit. At most sushi restaurants, ordering sushi, sashimi, and rolls easily costs $50-60, sometimes more -- and that's not even for high-end quality. But as someone who truly loves sushi, I can confidently say the food here is exceptional. Sushi may look simple, but there are two key points that make all the difference: freshness and rice. Of course, the fish must be fresh -- that's a given. But the real test of good sushi lies in the rice. Many people think rice is just rice, but that's not true at all. It shouldn't be cold, mushy, or too firm. The portion size should also be just right -- not overwhelming. Good sushi rice has the perfect balance of temperature, texture, and seasoning. Properly cooked rice with just the right amount of vinegar makes all the difference. This place gets it absolutely right. On top of the amazing food, the staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely put effort into making your experience enjoyable. Honestly, I don't even know how they make a profit at these prices. The quality and freshness are on par with restaurants that would easily charge double. Based on what I ate, I would have paid around $100 elsewhere -- but here, it's about half that price. Let me start by saying I do not like All you can eat sushi. Food: Just ok, not quality sushi Portions: Small, you have to order multiple orders of the same Price: Expensive $30-50 per person Service: Decent Atmosphere: Feels like a regular restaurant than a shshi, not Japanese style, but more simple tables and booths. I'm not a fan of all you can eat sushi places because generally they do not use quality products. And this place is no different. I actually did not know until I stepped inside, because they just took over a previous Japanese restaurant. Since I went with two of my nephews, I guess they can eat regardless of the quality. I picked the wrong day to go I guess. Payday holiday price of $40 per person. The food quality is not that great. It's just decent, it's not great. But taste is ok. Much better than the one in West Covina. Portions are small. We order double of everything. The spider roll, not sure how much spider do they put in that row, because the crab itself is larger than the rule. Looks like they cut a soft shell crab into three pieces before they make one roll out of it. The dragon roll, the eels are sliced very thin. Looks like the knife scale of the chef is quite good. Price it's not cheap for what it is. Most likely I will probably spend the same amount if I go to a better restaurant, I would have less food in quantity but I certainly can get better quality food in return. I was with my nephews and I'm sure they don't know quality vs quantity. Atmosphere: the design and there does not seem like it's a Japanese restaurant, the previous restaurant looks a lot more Japanese. It's a simple table and Booths, but I do not see much Japanese decoration. Then again I'm not there for the decoration. Overall I'm still not a fan of all you can eat sushi. I was craving sushi SO bad because I had seen someone post this place on SGV eats. We went in on a weekday night last week as a party of 2 and did not have to wait. I believe they are still in soft opening and you could still smell the fresh paint. We chose the base menu. The sushi came out fast and I thought the fish was good quality for ayce sushi. My favorites of the night were the pepper salmon nigiri, the roly poly no rice roll, and the mountain no rice roll. We had a few items that were a bit salty, notably the raw shrimp nigiri and the imitation crab in the last roll we got (assuming it was a new batch of crab). I especially liked the shrimp tempura and the rolls that included shrimp tempura because they didn't overcook them! The staff were super attentive and did a great job for it being a new restaurant! The food came out pretty fast. I think our server was named Monica. She was very friendly and checked up on us often. They were especially fast at clearing the plates as soon as they were empty. They also keep the ordering paper at the counter and keep track that you get all the items for the round before returning it, which I really appreciated! At first it was just the 2 of us and one other party of 1. Later on, more people came in and you could tell it was getting a little more hectic for the 2 servers but I think they still held it down. We would definitely go back here if we wanted to grab ayce sushi. read more

Decent AYCE spot. Went on a Friday night a little after 6 pm and signed up for the wait list which wasn't too long. Selecting items was a bit confusing with no explanation but we figured it out. Service wasn't as quick but we felt like we got enough to eat for the amount paid. Only thing that wasn't my favorite was the constant use of truffle for some sashimis. Terrible. If i could give 0 starsi would. We have two minor children. The restaurant charges by height for all you can eat. We have 2 boy minors 9 & 3 years old and they are tall for thier ages. The all you can eat for my 9 year old was going to be $39.99 and 3 year old $19.99. Evan the hotess "manager " refused to allow them al a cart unless everyone at the table ordered a la cart . the children are minors. Trying to charge a 9 year old $39.99 is crazy not mention trying to charge a 3 year old $19.99. I know It sounds like a silly reason to complain but because my children are above average in height. Second time going for the weekday lunch special. The pricing is good and a decent variety of items despite not serving sashimi. They don't try to stuff with a ton of rice so add some points for ethics. Will say their food quality is not stable. First time we went, the tempura shrimp had a beautiful lightly crisp batter, this time around, it was dense and oily. Yellowtail and salmon collar can really differ significantly in size as well, which is frustrating because they limit you to one each. The baked mussels were really nice last time, but this time it was very fishy. The rolls were also not as nicely wrapped this time. The seaweed wrap was torn in places and the exposed rice made pieces stick together. Rolls were still tasty but not beautiful. Mgmt also need to do a better job staffing. We didn't have a consistent person coming to check if we wanted to put in new orders and we often had to wait quite a bit between finishing a round to put in our orders for the next round. The food also came out very slowly. We would get the salads and cold dishes out first, finish them, and then wait a good 10 min for the next plate. Towards the end, we had the FoH person coming by like 45 min before our 2 hour time limit was up to give us the bill and we were still waiting on a couple dishes and wanted to add some items. And she would keep coming back to check if we were done, which got a little annoying since we were waiting on them for the food. read more

But since I've started coming to this establishment, the quality of sushi is right up there . I've always been particularly impressed with the service. They're very friendly, very accommodating very knowledgeable. . I love how when you submit your order for your sushi that even in the kitchen they're working at a rate of speed to expedite getting the food to your table, quickly hot and fresh . The food was ok and the service was absolutely terrible. We ordered 10 pieces of plain salmon and it took over 40 minutes until we gave up on it and decided to get the check. We had called over 3 different times to 3 different servers and they all said they would check and they all left and never came back. The sushi rice wasn't good either, extremely disappointed, worst service i've had in a long time. We were here for almost 2 hours and half was purely on waiting. It wasn't even that busy, they claimed it was but there were three empty tables next to us. Never coming back, and I don't recommend unless you want to starve.
