Great service and reasonable pricing but the steak and burger didn't meet our taste bud expectation ! The hanger steak was marinated too sweet lack that wood fired taste we were looking for ! Burger on the other hand needed a little seasoned but everything came out hot ! The portabella fries was amazing , oysters were fresh and the macaroni and cheese were enjoyed ! Worth a try if you haven't but don't think we will be coming back

Consistent spot in Sac... Came here for lunch. Ordered a few apps and one main. Favorites were the bone marrow, burnt ends and the crab cake. Oysters were good, just they only had the one option, and size wise they were at the max of what I can handle. The only food item we didn't love was the steak. We ordered it medium rare, and it was rare and a tad cold. That was probably due to the service. Our waiter was the only one covering the entire floor, which included a big party in the back. That led to long wait times for food. Overall place is nice, food is consistent, just maybe a tad understaffed.

On a work trip to Sacramento I was thrilled when I learned that there was an echo and rig in the area I was going to be visiting. Having been to the one in Las Vegas last summer I had been dreaming of their signature burger since. It was everything I remembered it being; juicy, flavorful, perfect umami taste in every bite. My colleagues enjoyed their meals as well, with the lamb and shrimp cesar being top favorites. We are only here for two days and can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Came for our anniversary dinner. We loved it! The ambience, lighting, music and great selection of drinks. Ribeye : medium cooked with red wine sauce. Amazing cook, tender and very flavorful! Would order again. Mac and Cheese: creamy and nice touch of crunch from breadcrumbs. Mashed potatoes: best side! A must try. Mushroom fries: it came with this green basil sauce/aïoli which made it good for a non mushroom eater. Our waiter was super sweet. We were given a free dessert to celebrate our anniversary! FYI they validate parking tickets

Excellent steakhouse. We loved our food. We all ordered the rib-eye. It was cooked to perfection. The ribeye had lots of flavor. We did not even need the sauce on the side. The chips are very good as well. They have a nice crunch. The house old fashioned is amazing. Not too sweet. The prices are a little steep for dinner. If you want to go a little cheaper, check out their lunch menu. I've tried the spot in Vegas and I was happy to find the one here in Sacramento. I've tried all the cuts over time, and my favorite is the ribeye due to flavor of the meat. Definitely treat yourself with a yummy steak. They take reservations. The wait staff were really nice and on it.

We had an amazing time at Echo & Rig where our server, Isa provided top-notch service. Our 40 oz. tomahawk steak order arrived with a variety of steak sauces. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were all of high quality.

There are some highlights to this place. Here they are. Service: Wair service by Kim was 5 stars. She was friendly and knew the menu. Kitchen: Whar came out of the kitchen was good. Steaks are great and cooked perfectly. Side. Highlight was portebello fries. Other stuff was meh. Octopus salad was a bean salad. The wait time for ordering was aweful. If they have service in banquet room, walk out. Ambiance Chic place wrecked by very loud noise level No bueno

We loved this spot and will be our new steak house!! We moved here fromSJ and thought we lost hope in steak houses. We've gone to butcher and barrel and it was mediocre. The calamari was tender. The fried olives were perfectly salty. And the bread was like a croissant sourdough. Delectable!! They gave us a complimentary fried spinach salad which was exceptional. I would come back for that alone. We also got a rare tomahawk at 43 ounces. Cooked to perfect and seasoned well. I would hands down come back here especially the spinach salad and tomahawk This place was a wonderful surprise!! I believe our server was Jorge. He was great. Offered suggestions without pressure.

What a tremendous experience. Every aspect of it from start to finish was exactly what I'd call an elevated dining experience. We came here for our anniversary and received excellent service. We were served by Isa, who had tremendous customer service, excellent knowledge of the menu, and made our evening feel very special. On top of that the food was phenomenal. We started with the burnt ends, thick cut bacon, and crab cake... each of which were absolutely delicious. It was clear that, even as steakhouses go, this is a craft and an art for Echo & Rig. We ordered the Ribeye and the Zabuton steaks and both were cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. Echo & Rig is an upscale, trendy, and yet somehow casual place. An ideal spot to meet for drinks at the bar, share appetizers, or like us, enjoy a nice anniversary meal. We very much look forward to returning in the future!

We went to Echo and Rig for my birthday as it serves halal steaks (Creekstone). We made a reservation which allowed us to get in quick. The ambiance was very nice and it felt like everyone was there celebrating their birthdays. The server we had was amazing and even the manager came out to wish me a Happy Birthday! They were very attentive to our dietary restrictions. I would make sure to let them know you only eat halal as they do use beef tallow on their steak and potato chips which is not halal. With that onto the food: Bread/ butter: it was absolutely delicious. One of the best breads I've been served as it was warm and the butter room temperature. I would go back just for the bread. Burrata and focaccia with burnt orange sauce: this one was good. The orange sauce was a little too strong for me but the focaccia bread was good. I enjoyed it but probably not re-order Ribeye steak: this was cooked perfect medium. I had no issues with this one. Will get it again. Mashed potatoes: sooo good. It was creamy and got plenty of butter. Definitely need to get every time you get the steak. Overall 5/5. Will come back for future celebrations!

Stayed at Kimpton and ate breakfast here for convenience. Regret my decision. The food was bad. I was one of four customers in restaurant. Ordered eggs. You can see the kitchen and people looked busy but my plate took a long time to arrive - glacial. What appeared was barely cooked bacon, overtly greasy (unappetizing) potato mixture and lukewarm eggs. Asked for a fruit plate expecting cantaloupe , honey dew but got berries and a banana cut up to make plate look full. I left hungry. Choose elsewhere for breakfast.

I've passed by this place so many times. It looked fancy and a little intimidating. And today I finally decided to go in. Food and drink were pretty good and the place is beautifully decorated. Thoughts from first visit: I stopped by in the afternoon for a drink and snack while I read. The place is not busy at the time of my visit which is nice. For snack I got: Oysters- the oysters are fresh however there are little pieces of shells everywhere. It comes with two sauces I love the red wine vinegar. Just be careful of shells when eating it~ Samosa Cigar- such fun shape in samosa. It is fried perfectly. The inside is not as flavorful as a traditional samosa but it is still very delicious. Along with the sauce is chefs kiss! For drinks I got: Pig & The Lady- it's is tropical and delicious! Tart from the passion fruit. This drink is so good! A unique creation the bartender whipped up, it's like a cosmo but with tequila. When I was ordering a second sip, they ran out of gin for that drink. So the bartender said I'll whip something up. Very cool. Service is nice and helpful. The place is connected to the Sawyer hotel so you would go across the hotel lobby to use the restroom. A nice little walk cuz the hotel is beautiful too~ Considering this is a fancy place, the food and drinks are priced as expected. I would definitely come back for the Pig & The Lady~ Updated and more thought from second visit: I did come back for Pig & The Lady and more reading. And service is incredible this time. It was a 4.2 star last visit but this visit is for sure 5 stars! Above and beyond service. I was asked if I had any allergies after ordering, which is very thoughtful. I got the crab cake this time and it was delicious. Just as delicious as the samosa cigar from last time. I also got the bread service this time and I really enjoyed their bread. It's toasted so well and delightfully tasty with salted butter. Very much enjoyed this visit!

Zabuton steak, house chips and Rockefeller mushroom
    Kayla C.

Stopped by Echo & Fig in Sacramento for a solo dinner and had a solid experience overall. Chris was a great server, I was on a work call and he was courteous, attentive, and respectful of my timing. Service felt seamless. The portobello fries were fresh, crispy, and flavorful with a perfect dipping sauce, definitely a highlight. I ordered the zabuton steak. It was cooked and salted perfectly, but I probably wouldn't order this cut again. The flavor was very beef-forward , almost like burger meat in steak form. Not bad, just not my preference. Steaks come with house-made kettle chips and one Rockefeller mushroom. All other sides are à la carte. The chips, while house-made, are still just chips. The mushroom unfortunately didn't hit .. it was very dry and shriveled. The berry "shortcake" also missed the mark for me. The hibiscus was extremely chewy, and the shortcake itself was savory with a firm, almost hard biscuit texture, not what I expect when ordering shortcake. The ice cream was good, but overall the dessert was just okay. Ambiance is medium upscale with a romantic edge with a good mix of after-work diners and date nights. I'd return for the appetizers and service.

When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. We also ordered the Brie and bacon jam appetizer and one of our party had a Caesar Salad. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as well. Everything was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The proteins were substantial, well worth the price. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

From the atmosphere - through the service - to the FOOD. This place deserves this strong rating…read more The building is gorgeous -- all brick walls, old-school elegance, and enough ambiance to make you sit up straighter the second the waiter approaches. It feels like the kind of place where politicians make secret deals over cabernet and couples get engaged next to a plate of scallops that costs more than your first car payment. The wine list is so extensive I'm pretty sure it has its own ZIP code. The service? Extremely polished. The servers glide around with the confidence of people who definitely know which fork you're supposed to use and are praying you don't ask. Food-wise, it's fantastic. Steaks arrive looking like they just graduated summa cum laude from culinary school. The oysters are elite. The desserts whisper, "You deserve this," right before your bank app sends a push notification asking if everything is okay. And honestly, the best part is the atmosphere. It's one of the few restaurants where everyone collectively agrees to lower their voice by 30%. You don't hear blenders, screaming toddlers, or a guy explaining crypto. Just soft conversation, and clinking glasses. Would I go back? Absolutely. But only after checking my credit score, hydrating properly, and reminding myself that "treat yourself" is not a legally binding financial strategy. In all seriousness: it's worth every dime. (And if you decide to pay in dimes.....bring a few dollies and some help.)

When I arrived there, the area was much too sketchy to actually think about taking anyone I actually cared about to that establishment-so I came up with a great pivot-I remember The 7th Street Standard had an award winning burger I've been dying to try,so I turned my car around and headed downtown. This restaurant is located inside the Hyatt Hotel on 7th Street. They do have valet parking at this spot but street parking is plentiful so I just went with that.I guess garage parking is also an option, but a bit pricey to me. When we arrived I knew I had made a great choice by coming to this restaurant. They sat us right away-We got there a bit after noon and the restaurant was not overly busy. I was just a tad disappointed that I didn't wait to arrive until happy hour when I caught a glimpse of their happy hour menu and prices-next time I will be sure to arrive for happy hour as the prices are much cheaper then. The menu was a nice mix of breakfast and lunch items but I knew I had come for one reason only to try that famous award winning burger of theirs. So we ended up ordering the 7th Street Double Bacon Burger ($26.00) and the Breakfast Burrito ($20.00) To drink we had an Urban Roots IPA and a Mexican Lager-both drinks were $9.00 Breakfast Burrito was pretty good-You could really taste the quality of the ingredients used for this dish-Potatoes-Eggs-Bacon-Cheddar-Green Onions-it was served over a plate of Black Beans and topped with a Salsa-like sauce with Crema and Queso Fresca. 8.1/10.0 Item 7th Street Double Bacon Burger-This is an award winning burger as it was the winner of the 2025 Sacramento Burger Battle-People's Choice Division-So I knew I was dealing with quality before I even walked into the building. It truly did not disappoint-it was a Prime Blend Patty-Thick Cut Peppered Bacon-Caramelized Onions-Aioli Spread-topped with Cheddar and a Sesame Onion Bun. Perfectly seasoned-flavor-balanced-very juicy-truly dripping with flavor. Chef Pedro Depina truly made a masterpiece of a dish with this burger and a musttry for any true burger connoisseur. Fries were just salt and pepper seasoned-decent enough. 7th Street Standard is currently running a Food Series promotion where they are featuring a dish from each of the A's Baseball teams opponents home city-I've seen the May dishes,I'd imagine this will continue in future months. In closing,I do understand this is a somewhat pricey restaurant to go to just for a burger and fries but I can for sure say this burger was worth the price-it's currently my favorite burger in the Sacramento area. I do recommend you try it if given the chance.

We were able to choose seating by the window even got to have the blinds peeped open for us. Service was soooo friendly and quick. I was blown away by the food! It seemed simple but everything was rich and flavorful. I'm still dreaming about the potatoes.... I will be back. Thanks 7th Street Standard !
