An Edith's in west village! Came here for lunch and got a brekkie bagel and split the coffee slushie and a slice of cinnamon babka with a friend. The babka is to die for. So good and probably some of the best I've ever had. The slushie was definitely a fun treat and I would definitely have it more often in the summer. We were also able to sit at the counter seat (there is not much seating inside), so it was so fun! - Tahini coffee slushie (5/5): this was so good! The slushie with Grady's coffee and tahini was delicious with a strong nutty, sesame flavor. The slushie was worth it even in this cold weather! The sephardi wrap packed so many flavors into a hearty breakfast malawach! The flakiness reminded me of a scallion pancake. I wish they offered different sizes so then I could get a smaller one and save some $$. You hear so much about the coffee slushie but they also have a root beer slushie which I'd like to give a try to! I also ordered the PEC + L, pastrami egg and cheese plus latkes ($16.85). I ordered the pastrami as opposed to the more "traditional" bacon or sausage. First few bites of the meat were a bit tough/fatty but then the meat got better. The eggs were super fluffy!! I decided to pay the extra cost ($1) to get it on the malawach flatbread instead of a bagel. The employee who rang me up described it as a flaky pita from Africa. I was very happy with my choice. Overall a great sandwich. To see what a Chicago-style everything bagel was like, I ordered a plain one. It's a bit spicier. An okay bagel, too expensive though at $2.75. You're definitely paying more here than elsewhere, even the breakfast sandwiches start at $13. This isn't somewhere I can afford to go regularly! I was able to dine in with my food. People were definitely giving up seats while I was there. Inside there are a few seats at the counter and along the window and two smaller high-top tables for 2-3 people. After a short-lived popup in Tribeca a few years ago, Edith's is here to stay in Manhattan this time, with a beautiful corner spot in the West Village. The big difference here is there is now seating available, unlike just the few chairs out front at the original Williamsburg location. Other than that, they have all the same amazing stuff, like the Slushies, Totkes, sandwiches and wrap. Definitely try the Dilly P special sandwich though that's only at this location. read more

Everything on the menu looked so good and the restaurant itself is straight good vibes, but I was let down by my Sephardi wrap. The malawach was nice--like a thick scallion pancake without the scallion, but the fillings really let it down. The chicken sausage was a small round cut in two. The harissa mayo was missing flavor, and the eggs really needed seasoning. Everything was kinda haphazardly thrown together inside the wrap so the first half of the wrap was all eggs, and the second half was all sausage and peppers. It desperately needed something like cheese to bind the wrap together and give it more seasoning. Lives up to the hype. The cold brew tahini slushie always had me coming back for more sips. I was surprised by how big the BEC on flatbread was! This location actually has seating compared to the Brooklyn location, but there isn't much, so don't expect to be able to eat in without waiting. The sandwich was solid, but you could probably get a similar one at any other deli tbh. The coffee was delicious though. I came to Edith's with my fiancé for a late brunch on a Saturday at around 3pm. We had heard about the opening in West Village and wanted to try this famous Brooklyn spot now that it is a little closer to us. When we arrived, there was a line out the door of like 8-10 people. The line moved fairly fast though and we were ordering probably within 10 min or less. The spot is very cute, small, and has a cozy, casual feel to it. There is very limited seating with one counter/bar area, two tables, and some extra seating by the windows (high stools, another small counter). You order your food at the cashier and then get to wait by the other side for your order to be ready. When we got there, the place was still pretty much packed and a little chaotic given the limited space. Thankfully we were able to get two seats at the bar 2 minutes or so after getting our food. By the time we left at like 4:30pm, the crowds had definitely died down. Their menu is pretty extensive and everything looked delicious so we really struggled with what to order. We decided on: - Coffee tahini slushie: I'm not really a slushie or frappuccino person-- I often find that these drinks are too sweet and I do not enjoy the flavor of sweet coffee on drinks. However, I accepted a sample from the cashier and was sold. The slushie is rich but refreshing at the same time. The coffee flavor is there and it's perfectly balanced by the nutty creaminess of the tahini. The sweetness level is so mild, I was a huge fan of this! This may be the only sweetened coffee drink I will ever seek out. Very good. A little expensive but giant portion. - Breakfast wraps: if you come here, I definitely suggest that you get the wraps on the malawach. This bread is flaky, buttery, with a crispy crust and chewy center... just perfectly comforting! We tried the Scottsdale which comes with buttery eggs, creamy avocado, a tangy salsa verde, and pieces of lakte which gave it a nice texture. We also tried a Sephardi wrap. This wrap was my favorite--It has the same buttery eggs on the delicious malawach, with this perfectly spiced chicken sausage, balanced out by cheese, and then with a kick of heat from Fresno peppers and their spicy sauce. One of the best breakfast wraps I've ever had! Generous portions and very filling. - Totkes: addicting! I would come back just for these. Crispy, but with a soft texture on the inside. The shredded potato bits add a very fun texture. Definitely get their special sauce on the side-- 100% worth the additional cost. The creamy sauce has a bit of tanginess to it and spices that is just divine and compliments the fried potatoes very well. - Cinnamon babka: another hit! The cinnamon flavor was rich, the babka was dense and doughy with a slight airy texture, like a mix of cake and brioche. The piece is massive so you can definitely share it with a friend or take extra home. Perfect way to end the meal and it pairs perfectly with their slushie. Overall, this is truly a gem of a place. The food quality is exceptional and the menu items are just so fun and unique. I will definitely be coming back in the future for more breakfast wraps and totkes, as well as to try their other sandwich specials and their amba choco chip cookie that looked divine! Prices are a little high but nothing crazy for this area and definitely worth it for the high quality of food you get. I visited Edith's on the Monday of a three day weekend. There was a small line (it took ~10 minutes). I ordered the Scottsdale wrap and a latke. There was a 'choose your own' hot sauce box at the cashier and I took two Srirachas to go. There are a few counter tables inside and two smaller tables (on a weekday you could probably eat inside, on a weekend it's best to take the food to go). I was pretty hungry and finished most of my wrap. The wrap was the most savory wrap I've ever had for breakfast. It was the perfect warm food I needed to start my 20 degree cold day. The egg to wrap ratio was excellent - By the time I was halfway through my wrap, I became full. The latke was crisp and savory - quite delicious. Stumbled across Edith's while looking for a quick lunch spot and am so happy I did! Coco at the register was so friendly and I loved her recommendations. The chickpea wrap is so fresh and the portion is massive. I also ordered my childhood favorite pb&J which was INCREDIBLE. The challah bread is so thick and fluffy and perfectly grilled. Have I been in New York for two years and just had my first bagel? Yes. Is that embarrassing? Likely. Finally tried one and decided to have one after a fun night, so slightly needed. Edith's is well known and they just opened a west village location, so fittingly I didn't walk over and get one but had it delivered. I got the middle eastern gluten free bagel, which is a Japanese-style egg omelette stuffed with farmer's cheese, parsley, za'atar, and shakshuka sauce w/ scallion aioli spread.
