Recently stopped by Egg Works on Rainbow and had a great experience. We went on a weekend early afternoon and, despite it usually being busy, it was surprisingly quiet with only a few tables occupied. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and our food came out quickly. We ordered the blackened prime rib Benny and the Italian dip sandwich. Blackened Prime Rib Benny (4.5/5): Eggs were perfectly poached with a runny yolk, and there was a generous portion of prime rib and veggies that added great texture. The seasoned potatoes were a solid side as always. Italian Dip Sandwich (4.5/5): Loaded with salami, ham, and pepperoni in every bite. The melted mozzarella paired really well with the marinara sauce, which also doubled nicely as a dip for the fries. Excellent food here. This is our favorite breakfast spot. Only one with the breakfast pizza. Former space has a pizza oven, that's why. Does not have a sharing plate fee here; the one that my MIL goes to, on Eastern charges that. But, if you get an extra sauce, there is an extra charge for that. Has outside dog-friendly seating too. Presentation was great, but the fries were too salty and the omelette was bland. There was was no seasoning to the omelette at all. I felt that if the vegetables and artichokes were sauteed with soy sauce, or even just salt and pepper, it'd taste so much better. Definitely artery clogging food with the heavy country gravy but it was delicious! The potatoes were also seasoned very well. We came in as a walk-in around 10am. We were able to seat immediately and were greeted by our server Kelly and the busser. Both of them were so nice and we really enjoyed talking with them. I love the little train track going around the whole restaurant ceiling. This place has a cozy vibe. We started off with some hot coffee and orange juices. My family loves this place. There's a toy train that rides around the entire restaurant. Classic and very hearty breakfasts that all taste so good. Service is the friendliest. It's always busy on weekends but I don't believe we've ever waited more than 15 mins to be sat. I was visiting my brother and since I was coming from out of town on a Thursday morning we were looking for a breakfast spot to me up at that was good and to catch up on life. My brother who lives not to far from here suggested egg works. This place was about 12-15 min from the airport for me so it was a perfect distance since I was hungry from all the traveling. The parking was pretty easy and I found a spot on the side of the restaurant. My brother got there early and found us a booth near the back. Our server whose name is also mine but spelled a little differently (Dannielle) was the best! She was super attentive and patient as we were wondering what we wanted to order. My brother was leaning towards one of the dishes with chili and she let us taste a couple of them before ordering since they did have some distinct flavors. My brother ended up ordering the chili loco moco $16.50 and I ordered the corn beef hash $17.95 ( with sourdough toast, over medium eggs, and habla diablo seasoned potatoes). Everything was delicious and more than enough! I took some potatoes to go. There is a toy train throughout the restaurant near the roof that I loved looking at as it came around lol. Got this brunch because I was dying from New Year's Eve the night before. WOW! Everything was super tasty. My partner had the veggie omelette. Loved that it had some feta on it and the option to change the cheese. We shared the stuffed French toast and this was surprisingly the star of the show for me! I got it to go and every aspect of it was separate and that was a great idea because it kept it all fresh and not soggy. I got the chili rellano omelette and the flavors were incredible. It was so big I had it for several meals. The home style potatoes were good but a little dry. We got a biscuit with a side of gravy and admittedly may get the biscuits and gravy next time! Since I picked up I cannot attest to the service besides the ease of picking up my door dash order. The way they packed it to go was very detail oriented and made our experience that much better. Good food harmed by greed. What used to be a regular stop for us is now being put in the penalty box until they work out their greed. First, they charge a premium to use credit cards. Second, their "automatic tip" starts at 18%, even though we usually leave 20%+ Third, you have a choice of 3 syrups (high fructose corn syrup [gross], sugar free and maple for an up charge). $4 for 4oz of syrup that others provide for free. You have forgotten that your customers pay your bills and if you nickel and dime them they will notice. Your food quality is slipping. The corn beef has become corn beef paste. Your banana bread has less walnuts than it used to (another cost saving measure)? Your redeeming quality is incredible service staff. Super friendly and on the ball. To be fair, they are completely transparent about the up charge for credit cards and the extra charge for maple syrup. It's just a ridiculous policy. Time for a break. read more

I can remember driving by when this place was being built and saying to myself, "what is this place going to be?" I was so happy to see the sign that said, "Egg Works." I used to pick up breakfast before work. The orders were always ready to go when I arrived. The dishes I ordered to go was the Country Benedict, Blackened Prime Rib Benedict, Smokey Pork Benedict, Corned Beef Hash, and the Island Favorite Portuguese sausage breakfast. Stuff was a bit cold when I got to work, but it was still deliciously tasty. The menu dishes I have had at the restaurant are the A-1 prime rib omelette special, chili relleno omelette, country Benedict, chicken enchilada omelette, Santa Cruz breakfast burrito, smoky chipotle pork Benedict, corned beef omelette special, Reuben sandwich, Portuguese sausage breakfast, green chili hash, chicken fried steak skillet, Cabo burrito, bbq burger with onion rings, and a chipotle turkey Benedict. There has not been one thing that I have eaten here that I didn't like. Recently with a diagnosed dairy allergy, I ordered the Bandito scramble. No sour cream, cheese, and butter.
