Visited today and sat on the patio. Our server was Rial. Service was quick, but we felt somewhat rushed to place our order and finish our meal. I ordered an iced tea, and the cup had a visible crack in it and was leaking. When I asked for a replacement, Rial initially said she would bring just a new cup. I wasn't comfortable drinking the tea at all because of possible microplastics and preferred a fresh drink. While she did accommodate, the interaction felt a bit dismissive and she seemed annoyed. I think this could be a learning opportunity for her and the rest of staff. For food, we ordered the steak and eggs and a cheesesteak. Unfortunately, the cheesesteak was a disappointment compared to previous visits. They used to offer a chicken cheesesteak that I really enjoyed, but I guess it's been removed. The new sliced beef lacked flavor. It wasn't something we would order again. The steak and eggs were flavorful, though. Also, the new Diablo Cajun fries were excellent. Yum yum yum! We came here for the Cincinnati chili li li...we first had it in Orlando a few years ago and this is the only joint that I know of that serves it up. Glad we shared this 4 egg omelette. Was huge! Cane with their diced potatoes that are not spicy but has a chili flavor. Also go the banana muffin. Waitress said that new customers get a free muffin so we each got one plus our meal. Endless coffee came with a big carafe for easy serving yourself. This fabulous amazing cafe is in my neighborhood and I can't believe I have been living right down the street and had not been here. It's a quaint place and during our early Sunday morning visit on Sunday 7/13 it was quiet. We had a wonderful server Samara who was friendly and efficient. Food arrived hot and quick. Once the food came out, the portions were really big. The Mexican omelette was nicely seasoned with the chorizo, peppers, salsa filled with so much flavor. The biscuit and gravy is was on point as well, with very soft biscuit and adequate consistency of the gravy. Lastly, the strawberry cream cheese stuffed French toast consisted for of soft toast and sliced strawberries throughout with the cream filling. We went to Egg Works as soon as they opened, sat immediately and Lisa, our server, took our order for drinks, coffee and water, brought back the carafe, only seemed half full as we only got to cups each out of it. I often stop in for a couple of them to bring home. The staff is welcoming and attentive to guests. It can get busy on weekends but the wait isn't too long as they offer plenty of seating to include a diner style counter and a dog friendly patio area. I love the cute toy train they had running above the tables on the ceiling. Food/Beverages: So good! We ordered the Grandma's Biscuits and Gravy and the Stuffed French Toast! Although my biscuits could have been a little softer, the dish was still pretty flavorful. The Stuffed French Toast was not only an amazing and creative concept, but it tasted PHENOMENAL! On the downside, I did find it very odd that they did not offer Almond Milk or Oat Milk. When we asked the server if they had Almond Milk, she seemed confused as if she had never heard of Almond Milk before and told us no and that they only had whole milk. Service: The service was mediocre. I felt that our server had so many tables to tend to that she just kind of did the bare minimum in order to serve the tables she had. There was nothing spectacular about the service we received. Honestly, the food runner who gave us our food seemed like he would have been a much better server than who we had. The cashier was nice as well. Additional thing to note: You are charged differently if you pay with cash vs a card. That is something that should be communicated before you are seated and not a surprise extra charge when it is time to pay for your meal. You are charged a little bit extra if you pay with a card. Overall: Overall, the meal was good enough to give Egg Works a second try to see what else is delicious on the menu but it doesn't have me wanting to run back anytime soon based on the service and full first time experience overall.
