One of my go-to's whenever I'm in Waikiki. It seems like their pancake size decreased significantly, but thankfully they still taste just as good. I ordered the macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup (must have coconut syrup!!). Very very delicious. But I went around 9:30 and ended up waiting for about an hour and a half which was a big turn off - don't think the food is worth that wait. When I come home to hawaii, this is my go to place for breakfast. Over the years it's become popular and now there's always a waiting list to get seated. I can say this is true for both locations. Today, it was time to revisit this place and have some local style breakfast. As I arrived, I can see people already waiting to be seated. I signed in and joined them. Note: you can sign up to be on the waiting list through Yelp. Once you sign up, it'll send a text confirmation. I messed up and didn't fully sign in and never got the text, and almost an hour had gone by and my name was never called. I talked with the host and he was able to get me seated. I ordered the loco Moco and the Hawaiian style pancakes. Know that these are Hawaiian size servings so be hungry when you come! The Loco Moco with sunny side up eggs was just right. The pancakes were fluffy and I loved the bits of pineapple, coconut, & macadamia nuts. I asked for coconut syrup but it wasn't the usual coconut syrup like before. They gave me Haupia like sauce. Which is good for me because I love haupia but someone who is not from Hawaii may not like it since it's not a syrup it's more like a pudding consistency. Try it if you love coconut! Came here for breakfast during the week day. The wait was about 45 minutes for two people. It is small inside so I can see why. The prices are okay and they give you large portions. We sat down and was greeting immediately. It looks like their coffee is supposed to be popular but to me it wasn't anything to talk about. Just regular in my opinion. I got the veggie omelette that came with a short stack of pancakes. You can upgrade it to specialty pancakes for $5. To me that's a little pricey for a pancake upgrade especially since they are the smaller version. Anyway, the veggie omelette was fine and the regular pancakes were good. When we arrived we checked in on the tablet at the front. Apparently, you can do it through Yelp beforehand as well. We were seated (party of 2) less than the amount of time quoted. This location is VERY small. We sat at a bar along the wall of the restaurant. If you can avoid it, I recommend NOT sitting there. It's a very tight fit when full of people. It feels like you're sitting on one another and I'm not trying to get that intimate with strangers. If you don't mind that, good for you. The food came out fast and was good, large portions. I would have loved to be able to get some grits but I understand where we were. I'm from the south, I expect grits at every breakfast spot. Anyway, the food was good, the service was good. I would say add yourself to the wait list 1 to 2 hour prior that way you aren't standing around waiting. The people are super nice the view to the beach is amazing read more

However, the elderly Asian man at the reception (who was identified as the manager) wearing a black mask refused to let me order in advance and, because not all diners were present, refused to let me sit down. He also refused to let me order in advance. Meanwhile, the twenty to thirty people behind me in the queue were all seated, but I was asked to wait outside. His attitude displayed arrogance and disdain toward Asians and people of color, showing no understanding or respect. Despite my repeated explanations of our purpose for coming early, his behavior remained very rude and unprofessional, completely violating basic service etiquette and clearly demonstrating discriminatory behavior. I hope this feedback helps others avoid a similar unpleasant experience. If you're looking for a pleasant family dining experience, I would suggest avoiding this restaurant. If you're Asian or a person of color, this place might not be suitable for you. It was so great we went twice Both times we were able to make a reservation on Yelp for 6:45am, and I believe you can either reserve day of or a day in advance, but I'm not sure if you can book for peak times in advance. Otherwise you have to join the waitlist and it can be a long wait around breakfast time. It's a pretty small space without anything too fancy on the menu, but you can't really go wrong with anything! I got the macadamia nut waffle both times, but the second time I added whipped cream (it's SO worth it!!). I also got coffee both times and I enjoy their brew. My wife got the rainbow fruit pancakes the first time and loved them but couldn't finish them so the next time we went she opted for a short stack of plain pancakes and we split a side of fruit. The website and menus say this place opens at 7, but we arrived just after 630 and it was already busy! We were seated within 20 minutes and had a very friendly server. The views here are awesome and we watched surfers out on dawn patrol. I had the crab cake bendict. It's a massive portion (complete with three pancakes on the side). It wasn't the best crab cake, but the Hollandaise was perfect. My husband had the açaí bowl. It was fresh and cold- perfect after a long walk this morning. Our toddler has the banana pancakes with a massive piling of whipped cream on top. All in all, a solid (and massive) breakfast for around $30 right across from the center of Waikiki beach. read more

What a cute dinner! First breakfast in HI! Came here after a night of drinking and the food & customer service went with the tequila in my belly just right. Busy place. Decent size but still had a quaint feeling to it like any other diner. It was just the two of us and we were starving so we accepted the offer to sit in bar style seating which was more comfortable than I thought it would be. There was also beautiful art on the wall in front of us so it gave me something to look at as we waited for our food. I ordered the Portuguese sausage scramble and he ordered an omelette. The food was amazing I wish I could've eaten it all. I love the large sized portions and if I had a microwave at the hotel I would've taken it back and had it later. Walked out and looked towards the Waikiki beach and the ocean. And smiled with a happily-stuffed stomach. No regrets.
