We stopped by Eggct for Sunday breakfast/brunch after church and it was a great choice. I anticipated having to wait for a table, but this place has a lot of seating and they do a great job of keeping things moving along, so I would guess a wait would be minimal, if any at all like we experienced. Eggct. has a really broad menu, so plenty of choices for everyone, whether that be breakfast/brunch items or something off the lunch menu. We had 4 different entrees at our table and everyone loved what they got. We had to ask a second time for a drink to be delivered, but that was the only hitch in the service. I must admit that the bathrooms could use a major updating. They are wonky and old, so give off the appearance of being dirty which was sort of a turnoff for me. A little interior updating and this place would be a 5-star pick. read more

Very good food for the price point with some excellent, unique menu options. Service is just a bit on the lacking side...might only be an issue when they're busy. The kitchen is really fast and capable though. Pretty impressed with the speed and consistency of the kitchen staff. Happy and lively atmosphere every time we've been there. read more

We were in town dropping our daughter off to school. Sunday morning we managed to get the rental in move out shape and were looking for breakfast around 9am. I feared the chances of finding an open table would be tough. We picked Eggtc. for it's proximity to where we were. As I'm parking the car across the street, we're watching a steady stream of people walking in. I was sweating whether we were going to be able to stay. Mercifully, they have a huge bar they started to seat people in. There was plenty room for us and many more. Whew. The menu is vast with a great variety of choices. Groups of people kept arriving as we reviewed the menu. Within 15 minutes of ordering, here comes breakfast. It was sooooo good. I had the Ranchero. It went down just fine. The serving was sufficient, not too much, not too little. All three of us enjoyed what we ordered. The drip coffee was good. The service was prompt and attentive. When's the last time all of these stars aligned on a Sunday morning? Rare indeed. read more

My partner and I arrived at around 11 am on Saturday 06/15, followed shortly by another party of two. Surprisingly, the third couple to arrive was seated right away, while my partner and I, along with the second couple, were asked to wait. One of the guests patiently waiting asked the host why the third couple was seated first, and the host became flustered and rude while trying to explain. In an attempt to rectify the situation, the host ended up seating both our group and the second couple at a large table meant for a larger party. We ended up sitting at opposite ends of the table, which was a bit strange, but we decided to go along with it. When my shakshuka arrived, it was a greasy mess with potatoes piled on top. As we were leisurely chatting and eating our meals, the host unexpectedly added a group of about 12 to our table. He began noisily setting silverware around our table before seating this large group. It was awkward to suddenly be joined by this large group of out-of-towners with families and children. We tried to make light of the situation with a laugh, but it was still uncomfortable that we were not given the opportunity to finish our meal in peace. After we paid, the host attempted to justify his actions, but it was evident that he needed proper training in time management, professionalism, and how to treat guests. Perhaps he was simply having a rough day, but it left us puzzled as to why the last couple to arrive, who happened to be the only white couple, were immediately given their own table before us, and why we were rushed and joined by a large party at our table before we had even finished eating. With all this being said, our waitress was competent, empathetic and professional. read more

Eggtc. (Main St. location in KCMO) is the best place for breakfast. The food and service are outstanding. Sunday mornings are particularly busy, but my husband and I enjoy sitting at the counter. Greg the bartender has the best conversation skills of anyone I have ever met (I teach public speaking and communication skills - he gets an A++!). The food is delicious. Lattes are amazing. Eggct is my favorite brunch spot in KC. I am the "non-local local"... ever since I was recommended by one of my former coworkers who attended UMKC Nursing school it's been a habit to stop here. The crew is very helpful and welcoming. No matter when I go, I can usually find a spot at the bar pretty quickly. The food is always good no matter what I have gotten. One of my favorites is the Banana-Tella French Toast. It's so good. read more

If you want breakfast go here!! I loved the Mango chai latte with almond milk!! Such a dream! For breakfast I ordered the Salmon and Goat Cheese Frittata! Sooo good! And big portions too! Great and friendly service. No complaints here. I'd go early because it does get quite busy. It was tasty but it didn't make me fall over. I'd still come back and try something else. read more

I have eaten in the dining room and the food was excellent. There seemed to be some uncertainty over who my server would be due to the busyness of the restaurant. The food was plentiful and delicious although it is on the expensive side. However, I ordered through DoorDash today and I was disappointed. I ordered the tacos. It contained stringy pieces of spinach or lettuce that were difficult to chew. The corn tortillas were cold, hard and inedible. read more

Breakfast connoisseurs: come one, come all. I've been wanting to try out Eggtc for awhile ( I mean it has my favorite breakfast item right in the name ). Went on a Sunday morning w/o a reservation. The space it self is small/ average sized, but since it was a busy morning Minskys pizza next door was opened to allow overflow seating. Wasn't necessarily a fan of sitting in Minskys but can't complain too much since I didn't have to wait to be seated. Now let's get to what y'all have been waiting for: the food. I got a cup of coffee and a brunch crepe (the crepe Cena). The savory crepe(which was filled with spinach, onions & eggs) was topped with lots of Hollandaise sauce (which is exactly how I like it). The breakfast potatoes were crispy but slightly overcooked. The prices were reasonable and overall i would come back here. FYI: parking can be tricky around here, but there is street parking around. read more

For some reason, their computer system spit out our order after we'd already waited an hour total to be seated and for our food. However, because our server, Amber, was so apologetic and accommodating, our otherwise disastrous experience quickly turned around and turned out to be pretty pleasant. After her apology she promised our food would be out in 5 minutes tops, even if she had to go into the kitchen herself. Honestly we've never been seated there immediately, but I would venture to go back ONLY if Amber is our server again. read more

We had a 6 in our party, and there isn't much space for waiting inside. But we were seated pretty quickly and the host was friendly. It took a minute for our order to be taken, but again the waitress was pleasant and engaging. She gave us recommendations and ask questions to help us order something we would enjoy. Everything was fresh, hot and tasted well. Good prices so we would return. It was the weekend so it was very tight in the space we were seated, so I would love to check out on a weekday. read more

Ordered from postmates. Got the eggs Benedict I believe. The hashbrowns were a bit too crunchy and stale but that might've been because we ordered from postmates so the travel time might've made them cold. The rest of it all tasted pretty good. Nothing extraordinary. Rather bland and normal. My bf got a burrito and that tasted way better than mine to be honest haha but glad at least they have a wide range of options! read more

I loved the old menu when Minski's owned them. No more crepes or quiche. No liquor license therefore no alcoholic brunch drinks. The Avocado Toast was lacking the arugula and the tomatoes were green. The only redeeming thing was they still had the wonderful wait staff. They need to stop cutting corners on the food. It will be a while before I give them another chance. read more

ABSOLUTELY a 5 star plus restaurant. Its my first time here and im pleased. They greet you with a smile and seat you right away. Stunning breakfast experience on this end - PLUS they offer a full barista service with alternative mills for people like me! Food was pretty good. I remember their gravy being more unique if you will. Pretty plain but still good. Great family friendly environment. The big downfall was it was about 25 minutes before the first plate being served and the last plate. I'm pretty sure our server forgot about half the order. I would recommend but I had a bad experience with the coffee but everything else was great. My niece and I were there. She kept getting coffee that tasted just like mine. But she wanted decaf and she had a bad reaction but everything else was good. So as long as you check the coffee I recommend it. But I'd make sure to check the coffee. That's only reason we got four stars instead of five. read more

Went to Eggtc. for brunch and were thoroughly impressed. The strawberry mascarpone crepes were delicious, perfectly cooked and not overly sweet with fresh strawberries. The garden of Eden omelette was so good. The veggies were crisp and the temperature was just right. We added bacon to it...yummy. The salsa on it was very good as well. Perfect amount of spiciness. The bar has a very good selection of drinks. The service was great as well. Great ambiance and a perfect location for a bachelorette brunch. Delicious breakfast!! The atmosphere is cozy and the service was very good. Our food was all brought out by the cook, steaming hot, and tasted fresh. As in the name, Eggtc. makes perfect eggs, and they have a lot of add-ons to choose from as well which is perfect for customizations. We waited less than 10 minutes around 10am on a Sunday. The food was tasty and great portion sizes for the price. There were about 3 different rooms, our was more on the quite side since it was smaller. It wasn't too crowded and didn't feel like you were sitting right next to the other tables. Dusted with the perfect amounts of truffle and parmesan. And the sauces were my oh my. I recommend paying the upcharge to just try them all. I mentioned the time earlier, because we had no idea we were stumbling upon their brunch menu. Even more options to choose from! I got the Crispy Waffle Smash Burger (smashed hertzog beef patties, fried egg, smoked bacon, merkt's cheddar, caramelized onion, maple aioli, crispy buttermilk waffle). This thing was really nice. Perfect waffle, not too small, not too big, and no oily or anything obtrusive. A nice bun option. Eggs and bacon sometime get lost against giant burger patties, but with these smash patties, the extra accoutrements really stand out and make this burger really stand out in my mind. I also for the try the Smokestack Burger (smoked burnt ends, smoked gouda, whiskey bbq glaze, pickle relish, chipotle aioli & crispy jalapeño straws). Uhhh, as you can read, this thing was loaded with goodness. Fatty burger, smokey burnt ends, sweet boozy glaze, acidic pickles, and texture from that jalapeno. This was the perfect burger. I insist you order this. Overall, my research did not reveal Beer Kitchen to me, locals recommendation did. Shows that you gotta use your street smarts instead of your book smarts sometimes. Our waters went empty and we had to ask a different waiter for more water and syrup, when she came over the water was warm and didn't have any ice. A kid spilled her syrup we went and asked for a rag and we cleaned it up which we expected but we had to flag someone down to see if she could get more syrup. The Deep Fake Eddy was a standout -- bright, citrusy, and very reminiscent of a grapefruit margarita. I also loved the Turmeric Tonic, which had such a great balance of earthy turmeric, citrus, and a subtle kick from cayenne. It tasted elevated and adult, not overly sweet or juice-forward. The Piña Nolada was creamy, tropical, and refreshing, and worked really nicely as a contrast after a couple citrus-forward drinks. Overall, the menu felt intentional and well curated rather than a token NA offering. A huge shoutout to Selah, my bartender -- incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and clearly passionate about the drinks. She made great recommendations and really enhanced the experience. If you're sober, sober-curious, or just looking for a place that takes zero-proof drinks seriously, Pressed Penny Tavern is doing something really special.
