We came here based on the high reviews on yelp. I would give this more of a 3.5 stars. Came here on a Saturday morning around 8:30am and there was no line! We were greeted and seated right away, the staff was quite friendly. Now onto the food we ordered the avocado toast 3 ways. I wouldn't really call it avocado toast cause it was just guacamole spread on 3 toasts. It was alright nothing special . My boyfriend got the Castro frittata which came with fruit and potatoes. It was underwhelming , the frittata was quite dense and the cheese wasn't fully melted. Finally I ordered a soy chia seed pudding with fresh fruits which I quite enjoy ! At here twice while on week vacation in June. Staff friendly and happy and found out it's family run. They were adorable. Ate here @ opening one morning and around 10:30a on another. Plenty of bistro tables inside and out. A little bit warm inside due to poor ventilation closer to back of restaurant. Food was very good - had nutella crepes and frittata another morning. Although a little pricey (~$13 for frittata) some of meals come with side of home fries and plenty of fresh fruit. This is average cost pp for breakfast anywhere in SF. Quality extremely good. Nothing great about this breakfast cafe. Everything you can make at home... simple... basic.... We had the avocado toast trio and one of the bagel offerings. Basic... but the cost for this simple breakfast was $60!! Their updated menu looks to be a 30% plus increase in prices! I understand the covid thing and businesses' need to increase costs but this is exorbitant... especially for simple dishes on their menu. Top that off with slow service. I stopped by Eight AM while in SF on vacation, around 9 or 10 on a Wednesday. It's not the fanciest spot. It's pretty simple as far as decor goes. Patio seating is available but they have tables and chairs inside in the front and then lining the left wall as you walk back. What earns them five stars is the service. The staff is super attentive. I was greeted as I walked up the sidewalk towards the restaurant, asked where I wanted to sit, seated immediately. My order was taken quickly. Good came out in a reasonable amount of time. Multiple made sure I had everything I needed. They work efficiently and as a team and it made the experience smooth. The food is good too! I had the Fisherman's Wharf Frittata, which had Dungeness crab, tomatoes, and Manchego cheese. It came with home fries and fruit as well. Everything was great - flavorful, cooked properly, and fresh. Our omelette with sausage was eggs and basic breakfast sausage. Eggs were fluffed well and it was sizable, but could have had a more interesting taste. Simplicity, if your prefer, was their strength. All-in-all, no place is great for everyone and I believe this place is as great for most as it's reviews will show you. What a great spot! My family and I sat outside on a pretty San Francisco morning and had a delicious breakfast! We tried the 1pm and the 2 pm Crepes, avocado toast 3 ways, and the French toast. The omelettes were nice and came with some potatoes and a bowl of fresh fruit. The place was warm, full of people. I'm not sure if their AC was out, but we were uncomfortably warm even though it was a beautiful day outside. In a vacuum, the food is probably worth 3.5 stars. They have unique food items for brunch, with the crepes being their specialty. I ordered their bagel brunch, where you chose two of their toppings for each half. My husband loves his hashbrowns crisp, these were not crisp, but these potatoes were very tasty. I got a crêpe with ham and Swiss; I switched out the Swiss with cheddar. When I first sat down and looked at the menu, I wasn't sure if this was the breakfast house for us, but let me tell you it was worth every cent. And wow this tiny little place offered robust service. My rating might be inaccurate because I only tried the Nob hill omelette even though I was planning to try something sweet as well given the amount of great options they have. I didn't order any sweet because of their no substitute policy regarding the potatoes that come with the omelette. If they over some kind of a veggie like spinach or broccoli I think it will allow foodies that feel guilty if they didn't complete their plates to order two dishes rather than one. The nob hill was pretty average and was surprised that the Swiss cheese had a bland taste and didn't improve the egg overall. The potatoes were ok as well. The copious amount of fruits also adds different textures and compliments it well. Hoowever, I thought the price was a tad steep! Avacados 3 way is decent. We chose Eight AM based on the stellar reviews and we were looking for a place near Ghirardelli Square. The place itself is super casual yet warm and inviting. There's a few tables outside and the majority are inside. There's usually a wait after 9am even on weekdays so add your name to the list as soon as you arrive and hope for the best! We arrived at 9:30 and ended up waiting about 15-20 mins for a table. Most of the menu is traditional brunch fare, but there were a few stand outs I kept seeing like the avocado toast 3 ways so I ended up going with that.
