I have been coming here for several years, and have realized that the service has gone down the drain. This morning for example, when I came in no one acknowledged us and we did not know which cash register to go up to. So we asked and a male worker with dark hair responded in the rudest way. We then went up to the cash register when they called us and a female worker with dark hair had an even worse attitude. We realized that many of them hate working there, therefore, we won't be coming back anymore and will tell our friends not to either. We have noticed this the past year. Went here Sunday morning around 10. Waited in the longest line ever just to order, and the guy taking my order couldn't figure out how to input my coffee as decaf so he told me to let the woman I paid know. So I get to her, and tell her I wanted my iced coffee decaf. She is confused but then figures it out, and then tries to find out who took my order (um, the ONLY person you have taking orders!). She left charged me for a large after I repeatedly told the guy and her I wanted a medium. Eventually she realizes what I'm saying. Then after I pay I have to wait on the side with another crowd of people for probably 15 minutes to get my food. I'm pregnant and couldn't stand anymore so my husband stood to wait for my food. Eventually he comes back and hands me the bagel, which I see is plain when I ordered another kind. So by this time we've already been there for 30 minutes and I have to go to the counter and tell them they gave me the wrong bagel (after struggling to get someone's attention). This girl looks into another bag and hands it to me. Couldn't have just checked the bag in the first place?? Meanwhile I see multiple people still waiting for their food that were ahead of me in line. One woman complained that if they didn't hand her her food she just wanted her money back because it was ridiculous how long she had to wait. Finally I'm on my way, and as I'm taking a sip of my completely watered down, flavorless coffee, I'm also getting ground coffee bits with each sip. Disgusting. The only decent thing was my bagel. They need to really have more people working to take care of the big crowds during the morning. never order a special coffee because it will take forever to get it. Don't bother the employees. Just stand in line and wait till they make eye contact. They maybe in the middle of talking about their weekends, schedules, and other convo that has nothing to do with it's bagels. Expect your receipt to be crumpled as stuffed in your bagel box. I really love the bagels here. I worked at a bagel shop in high school and I probably would have been fired if was as rude as most of the employees here. Also the coffee should be called coffee water, because the three different occasions I have bought coffee here, I regretted doing so. I came here after 9:30am on a Thursday. I've been here a few times and have just noticed that the service seems to be lacking. Typically, the people who take your order are friendly and usually greet you on your way out, but I find that the service lacks a sense of efficiency and organization. It seems like this place could use better training and maybe even more employees. It's hard to tell from an outside perspective. I am a regular at this store and usually they are pleasant and the only problem I have seen was they are not very good about monitoring their coffee. This morning I ordered breakfast and a dark roast coffee. The coffee urn was empty and I informed the woman at the cash register. In the meantime I tried some other coffee which was meh. 15 minutes later I go to get coffee and They are out of both dark and their house coffee. I nicely informed the cashier and she said no one told them. I showed some irritation and said I had and she mumbled something back. About 5 minutes later she comes out with attitude and starts brewing some house coffee and walks away. I view this mostly as a management issue because they were clearly understaffed. Let me start by saying that the food here is good. It is of the same quality of any other Einstein Bros around. So why the 2 stars? The service is terrible. The employees are not friendly and just generally seem unhappy at all times. On top of that they are consistently out of a lot of their varieties of bagels when I go leaving fewer options than anticipated. The people are really nice, but not good at this whole food service thing. I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese, and a small chai tea. My bagel came out not toasted (it was still cold), and when I asked them to toast it they were really nice about it but then I got a really burnt bagel the second time. I didn't end up eating it. Also they made me a coffee instead of chai. When they called out the latte and I didn't come up to take it, they asked me what my order was. Once seeing the mistake they made me the chai, and gave me a large instead of small. They were trying to be nice to make up for it, but I really didn't want a larger drink, just the right drink. They also told me to keep the coffee for free. Again this was very nice of them, but I didn't want it either, and I already had to take my (too)large chai with me. read more

Misleading advertisement The baker special showed Apple Cinnamon Bagel with picture on it where it post $3.99 with the coffee but when you ordered it, it turned out to be $.50 more where even the guy at the cashier had to ask around to figure out why (due to it's a premium bagel). The service was so bad where they didn't even understand their own special. They just keep saying this is all coming from corporate. I am not going back for sure. read more

Second time I ordered from them and same problem, over an hour late on delivery (even though I placed order a week ahead of time) then forgot most of our order. They are not organized, helpful, nor should they be doing deliveries if they cannot handle the work load. Customer service isn't terrible like most people here say. That said, they do run out of almost everything and never really plan ahead. I used to love their bagels but I can't really say that anymore. A few weeks ago I went in and bought an everything bagel, which is a little roasted garlic, and mostly poppy seeds and sesame seeds with some salt. I get my bagel, and drive back to my place to find a mostly fennel seed bagel. I thought it was a one time thing, probably just a fluke, so I ended up throwing it away (since fennel seeds taste really strong and generally just don't taste good). I came back today hoping the recipe had been fixed, so I could get a bagel and head to San Diego for a meeting. They had none up front (of course) so they grabbed a couple in the back for me and I left thinking my bagels would be fine. Everything bagel #1 was large chunks of roasted garlic (gross when there isn't anything to offset the flavor) and hundreds of fennel seeds. Just the nastiest bagel I can imagine. I took a bite and immediately knew I had made a mistake. Everything bagel #2 appeared to have paper ingrained into it along with the fennel seed / roasted garlic combo. The paper had some stringy stuff on it as well, not sure what it was but I honestly didn't want to know. Obviously I just put it back in the bag and threw it away (at this point I didn't want to drive all the way back). So I guess if you are some weird person who enjoys random trash and disgusting combinations in your bagel, this might be the perfect spot for you. If not, pass on it. read more

Horrible service!! Ordered one vanilla hazelnut latte and it took over 30 mins! I still didn't even get it because I was running late. Everyone that works there seems as if they hate their job. When I asked for a refund they took even longer to finish that process. The manager didn't even apologize about the situation, seriously horrible service and horrible cast, maybe they should find people that are willing to do their jobs. Never coming back again. Service is VERY slow, but worse than that, the employees make it even worse with their lousy attitude. I came Sunday, Nov. 8 around 11:30am - I expected to wait. The line to make my order was only about 5-6 people long, but it took about 10 minutes to place my order. I saw nothing extraordinary (i.e. a huge order, lack of staff, a difficult customer) to explain the delay. While waiting I did see a woman approach one of the registers with a package of ground coffee; she requested to purchase the coffee as she didn't place any order but was (rudely) told by the women worker that she'd have to wait in line to buy the coffee. The worker abruptly turned back toward the work area. I was ready to tell the customer that she could cut in my place (there were still a few people ahead of me), but then I witnessed the woman place the coffee back on the shelf and leave. I didn't blame her! I only wish she would have told the counter worker what she did. I finally placed my order, paid, and then waited again ... When I placed my order, I could see that the 5-6 workers were busy, but the ones interfacing with customers were not at all friendly or compassionate about the waits. I saw several other customers have to request all of the items on their order, and never heard a worker say "I'm sorry for the mix-up" or even smile when they handed over the food. My name was finally called, and my toasted bagel with salmon spread was literally shoved at me. I glanced at it and realized it was the wrong spread. I looked up to ask and by then the worker had already disappeared back into the work area. I then had to wait for another worker to come to the cash register and confirmed my order. He didn't say a word - he just grabbed my basket and gave it to someone in the work area. I assumed they were going to fix it, but he never said a word to me. Minutes later my name was called again, and my bagel was finally correct. I know that Sunday mornings are busy at any bagel shop, so I'm not complaining about the wait times (though these were excessive). I'm just really disappointed in the lack of customer service. Not one employee ever smiled at a customer, apologized for wrong orders or the wait time, or seemed to be happy to be at their job. There's no reason customers need to be treated rudely, or that employees can't smile and look customers in the eye. (Come on, this isn't Seinfeld's soup kitchen!) Management, please add another employee or two to your busy times, and teach your employees some basic customer service - please! I hope to update my review soon ... with a more positive experience. read more

The reason why I gave this location ONE star is because of the really rude, aggressive, hispanic male employee. He constantly talks to me in a mad way and displays extreme poor customer service. It's early in the morning & I'm just trying to grab some coffee and a bagel but he constantly talks to me as if he's annoyed (?). He speaks so aggressively and loud and acts like he doesn't wanna be there. That was to not only me but all the other customers that were there! The food and coffee are all great! We came here to get bagels and coffee for breakfast. We got plain bagels and bagel sandwiches, and luckily we checked the order before we left because they forgot one of the bagels. I thought it was a simple mistake but we came the next day to get more bagels, and they forgot one of the bagels again. They also got my son's coffee order wrong.
