My initial review of this location was pretty poor. But I've been back about a dozen times since amd ive noticed some new faces and the service has greatly improved. Sometimes I will still wait awhile for I usually go in at the business times so I can't fault them for that. I frequent this location a lot more now that the a service has gotten better. We used to love there pretzel bagels but the past 3 times we've gone, all you can taste is salt. I thought maybe it's just me but the 2nd time We got the 13 bagel box with smear for work and even the employees couldn't eat them. 13 bagels all with only a few bites out of them. What a waste. I figured the last 2 days maybe it was just a new employee who was heavy on the hands with the salt. Waited a week and went in today, same thing, way too salty, couldn't even finish it. Gave the other one away. Since I live in Torrance but work in Long Beach, I'll hold off til I get there, I'll be sticking to the Long Beach location from now on. Maybe you guys should try a bagel from each batch here and there to make sure the food is up to par in. Covid Update: went again with 7 people in line during covid. Checked phone and was in line for 48 minutes because of previous customers chatting it up and not exiting so next person couldn't enter. I appreciate the social distance enforcement, but y'all need to encourage and remind people new customers can't enter til they exit. Will not be returning until this is over unless I see no line at all. Tip: when you get a dozen bagels, you have to ask for them to be cut and toasted. They will give you an eye roll EVERY TIME, but it's literally their job. Always a big fan of an Einstein breakfast! Went at around 7:30, and there were only a few people in line. May be a better time than tbe 8ish rush! Got the Farmhouse style with one egg on an everything bagel. Nice and filling way to start the day - and it pairs nicely with some coffee. Make sure to aim your bites well, as you may squeeze some of the cream cheese out when you get a ways into your bagel. There are some tables set up out front. First time trying it, it was ok. Coffee was delicious and bagel was actually not to die for, it was pretty basic. Customer service was alright, not your above and beyond type of service, and they got my order wrong. They comply with COVID restrictions, only let in 5 people at a time and there's plenty enough space for social distancing inside so that is great! I ordered curb side pickup. I pulled up to the location and the app didn't allow me to check in so I called. I explained to the woman on the phone I wasn't able to check in but I've been waiting outside and she assured me they will bring my order out shortly. We're into 2023, 3 years past the peak of the pandemic, and this business continues to not allow its patrons to dine indoors. They claim its under the pretense of employee and customer safety, but we all know at this point its just a cost saving measure for management since both the CDC and LA County department of health have no such rule and haven't for over a year now. Now don't get me wrong, I understood and appreciated this measure during the pandemic, but the pandemic has come and gone and they likely don't want to hire additional staff and pay for someone to maintain their dining area. This place is so dirty, from the moment you park, there is Starbucks trash on the patio tables, the doors are filthy and full of fingerprints, the cooler with the smear and orange juice is dirty and you see the crumbs & debris inside the cooler, the tables needed to be wiped off & They got my order wrong. I'm always nervous when being served by restaurant employees with long finger nails. Real or fake. How do they wipe themselves and then wash their hands after using the restroom? Do they scrub underneath their nails? There should be a requirement for food service employees to keep nails trimmed and cleaned. It doesn't have to be during Covid but a hygiene priority always. The other day at the store, Einstein didn't have Apple Pay so I had to use my credit card when it was my turn to pay. The cashier with the long fake finger nails held on to my card after swiping it, she then flipped my credit card and handling it front and back. The staff here needs to be reolaced, including the manager. They move at a snails pace backwards. I, along with others waited 1 hour for a online order. The walk in people were in and out the door, and delivery, online and mobile orders were being pushed to the side. A young man had his drunks setting there 40 minutes while he was waiting for his food and his order wasnt even fulfilled correctly. I had 2 sandwiches and 1 bagel to pick up and waited 1 hour. When I questioned the manager, she lied and stated doordash deliveries were 30 minutes behind schedule, which was not true, they were 1 hour behind. I went in the other day asking for a gluten free or lowest carb item on the menu as it was my first time there for myself and the girl rolled her eyes at me and said "there is no low carb items". I would give a negative rating if I could. Corporate needs to come in and retrain the whole staff, but, its not their fault, they only do and see what the management does! Torrance Food Crawl #285 I've been to other Einstein branches many times but last week was the first time I had been in this Torrance location. I got there just before closing at 3:00pm so some bagel types had run out but there was still plenty of choice. I chose one of their Signature Sandwiches, which are bagels with various fillings. The Nova Lox came with lox, plain cream cheese, red onion, capers, and tomato. For my bagel I chose an Asiago bagel, which was basically just a plain bagel covered with cheese that's been melted. The sandwich was served open face style making it seem a little larger. The lox tasted fresh and there was a good portion of it. One of the workers was on his cell phone not paying attention and didn't put gloves on until someone told him to. We love Einstein s bagels.. however, my husband and I took two of our children to get a quick sandwich and bagels and coffee. We waited there for 45 mins to find out they gave our order to someone else.. we had to wait another 20 mins so they could make our order again. This was the worst experience ever.. we were late to out kids football game for under par service. They had like 10 crew members as well, there is no excuse for better service. On top of all this, there was a homeless person in the establishment that sat on the stools and left the stools with urine all of the stools.. my children got up with urine on their shorts not knowing they just sat their.. Waited a long time to place my order for dozen box bagels because even though the place doesn't look busy, the servers doesn't seem to want to help the customers. They don't seem to be happy to be there either. Good food, poor customer service. Would order online to avoid the wait, but unfortunately, the dozen box option does not seem to allow you to customize or pick your choice of bagels. Great Bagels! However, there are quite a few things that can use improving. First, the restaurant was very messy with trash and towels on the floor, tables dirty, and chairs scattered everywhere. I asked someone to please clean our table. Unfortunately, the person cleaning the table didn't ring out the towel well so I got splashed with dirty water. Second, staff made my order incorrectly even though I repeated my order to the cashier twice. Instead of apologizing, they yell from across the restaurant saying I didn't place my order correctly (not professional and somewhat embarrassing for me as many customers began to stare). Instead of remaking my order, they simply transferred the food to the correct bagel. When I opened my garden avocado sandwich I literally had two very small pieces of avocado the size of my nail bed. I asked staff to please add more avocado to which she took it back unwillingly. Finally, when I received my sandwich the staff member gave me somewhat of an attitude.
