Had the most incredible experience with Alex. Had an emergency with my washer and I called Alex (who I found on Yelp) for some help. He was already booked for the day, but Alex stayed on the phone with me for over an hour to help me fix the washer and properly drain the water that was not pumping out of the machine. We were washing clothes one night and all of water leaked out of the washing machine, flooded the laundry room, spilled onto the hallway, and leaked onto the first floor of the townhouse. I had a problem with my dishwasher and found Ekrantech on Yelp. I called and Alex told me dishwashers are one of the few appliances he doesn't service, for various reasons. He then proceeded to try and help me figure out the problem over the phone for 30 minutes and even suggested a place where I could purchase the part. The next day, I called him back to mention that I made the repair but was still having the problem. He spent ANOTHER 30 minutes with me on the phone, troubleshooting to help me determine if I most likely just need a new dishwasher. What a great find! Thank you Alex! My relatively new Samsung washer was leaking water from somewhere and it was out of warranty. So found Ekrantech on Yelp and immediately called. Alex, called me within 10 minutes of leaving a VM and was able to come by the same day! He texted when he was on the way and was incredibly thorough and super nice and knowledgeable. Though we couldn't figure out where it was leaking ( of course it didn't leak when he was here) he gave me a time frame where he would come back and not charge again. I have to tell ya - I reached out to Alex, from a referral from my neighbor, to fix my LG/Kenmore Dryer that stopped providing heat for me. It worked but didn't pump out heat. I called Alex and he was BOOKED through the 4th of July holiday. I'm an optimistic person so I kept calling him every few days to see if he had an opening. Nothing. Had to schedule an appointment for the following week. No worries - the good ol' sun could dry my clothes so I thought to just wait until my appointment. Lo and behold, Alex called me, repeatedly on the friday before the holiday (texted too) to say he was in the area and could literally swing by to check my dryer. He drove up my driveway, popped out of his van, and got right to work to check my dryer. "NOPE", he said. "Your dryer is working. I can hear it igniting. I can't help you here but what will help is a dryer vent company. You need the vent cleaned or repaired." I can't tell you how relieved I was to know that the machine wasn't broken. It's an LG and apparently, those are difficult to repair oneself - you need a professional. Which, is why I called Alex. When I asked him how much I owed him - he said "Nothing". WHAT AN AMAZING GUY! VERY kind and KNOWS how to treat customers. I'll tell you what - he is my appliance repair guy FOREVER! I called a dryer vent cleaning service to fix my ill-installed and improperly installed dryer vent below my house. That's a different review (and another good one). Highly recommended. Alex is always good with his communication and keeps you updated with regards to when he'll be there. My washing machine kept shutting off with an error. Called a couple of people who said it was the board and would need replacing. Alex said he would take a look before committing to anything. Also, so few people will look at stacked units. Alex was willing to take a look first before charging me for extra labour/parts. He turned up on turn, was polite and courteous. He brought some special sliders to pull the machines out. I was home at the time and was able to help. It was actually a two person job, given the annoying location of my machines and how the house is designed. He managed to diagnose that the issue was the hose at the back being kinked and due to the hot water gradually causing it to hold the kinked position. We swapped out the hose for a different kind that is like small rings. Then we put the whole apparatus back. It was not easy work and I know most people would have demanded the extra person and charged for it. Alex is also very entertaining with lots of stories about his childhood which was very interesting, so it was never really tedious. His price was more than fair and my machine has been working fine ever since the fix. Definitely my washing machine/dryer guy from now on. read more

We recently bought a house and our dryer started making a horrible sound soon after we moved in, that same day our dishwasher stopped working. Being new homeowners, that was a tough start! We called Alex based on his reviews on Yelp- and thank goodness we did. I had to work in the morning, so my wife met him to go through the issues, I came out of my office to them having a lovely and pleasant conversation while he expertly taking the dryer apart. Apparently he came up repairing Samsung products, and that's what we have, he was clearly an expert. He took it apart and replaced the defective part, as well as cleaning out the dryer vent (he came back later in the day to clean out the other side and make sure it was running okay also) and quickly fixed the problem with our dishwasher all for a low cost. This is a second review for a June 2019 service request with Alex. We've been lucky enough where we didnt have to get his help in the past few years since our appliances were working.... until this past month. I messaged Alex to see if he can come check out our stove since an error is appearing on the screen. Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule, we cannot find a time for him to come over until this weekend so he asked to me send some pics of the error and model# in the meantime. He then suggested to do a couple of quick checks before he came over to see if it fixes the problem and it actually worked!
