This is a new spot (they still have all the OPEN signs outside). Went here for a work lunch - great portion sizes. We got fajitas, nachos, tacos, sopes, etc everything was good. The menu is pretty large but the real nice thing about this spot is the great indoor/outdoor patio. They had the basketball game on and speakers in the back. Great vibe, good marinade on the meat. Love that this place opened a third location! Their food is always consistent in any of their locations at any time. Also staff are friendly and helpful. If you're looking for cheaply priced food that tastes great, this is the place for you. This location has their own parking lot and is easy to find. A great restaurant in the South Bay for delicious Mexican food. Different owners had a Mexican restaurant there before (they charged for takeout salsa?!), but it's completely different different ownership now and a significant upgrade to the food. The new owner is really nice (can't recall his name) and I eat as his location on Crenshaw all the time. The dining room here is larger and the food is just as tasty. I love their enchiladas, fajitas and gigantic burritos. Their salsa is fantastic and I also love their red sauce. Give it a shot. read more

We stumbled on this place tonight because our daughter wanted chips and rice and wow! Soooo happy she wanted that or else we would've never visited....the service was excellent and it's hard to come by good Mexican food and this place was delicious. The Asada sope was delicious, very nicely built, my daughter's side of rice was a much bigger plate than expected and it was good as well. My husband ordered a plain bean burrito and hard shell chicken taco and he's very picky with food and he gave it all two thumbs up. The horchata was also very good! read more

So after reading all the great reviews on this place I finally decided to try it out and ordered takeout. But unfortunatey I was disappointed by the lack of customer service they offered. I had ordered a chicken taco combo plate but upon arriving home is when I discovered they had made a mistake. I called to inform them of the mistake and instead of providing a simple apology the gentleman responded with "Oh. Thats weird" and that was that. During Covid, when all restaurants have is time to prep their food and make it bomb, this one didn't get the message. The "carnitas" had the juiciness of a paper towel and about the same flavor--even the radishes were dry and flavorless. The guy in there promised an awesome meal for us and said we'd "thank him later." Well, here you go--thank you for teaching me this lesson now and not while I was entertaining people I was trying to impress. The beans were flavorless, the guac was flavorless. It was actually all very surprisingly without flavor and seemed to have been sitting around drying out for some time. Maybe they just don't care to serve their highest quality food because it was the end of the day, but that still says everything one needs to know about their character. Fantastic tacos and really good burritos. The salsa verde on the wet burritos has a tiny bit of heat. We will definitely be coming back.

I have been eating at this spot my entire life. The pizza was good here in 1980, the baklava was good in 2001, and La Cocina was a staple for my family, but El Amigo has the best food of them all. They do two things, serve delicious authentic Mexican food, and treat their customers right. read more

What a surprising delight. First time here and lunch was awesome. The portions are HUGE, and very authentic. Staff was friendly and I was greeted with a smile.
