I had a late breakfast here today with a friend per a recommendation from someone in our community at Terramor. It was honestly the best authentic Mexican food I've had so far out in this area and Lake Elsinore included. It's definitely your "hole in the wall" joint and only one waitress and only one cook that I could see but the food was delicious! Best chicken quesadilla I think I've ever had and the machaca con huevos & fried potatoes were just like my Nana from Mexico used to make it! Their refried beans were also amazing! Yummy! Great food great service I've always had a great experience here, could use some updating but it's not gonna stop me from coming.

Went today. Food was great but service was the worst. Girl took our order and that was it. Probably won't be back for awhile.

Great food, ambience and service. I got ribeye and eggs and my husband the chilaquiles. We shared. Both were amazing but I think my steak slightly better. This place is a bit Run down and definitely needs a remodel. However, that won't stop me from enjoying some good food! Can get pretty busy on the weekends but if you come on the weekdays it's fairly easy to get a table. Their menudo is tasty But I don't care for the pork smell that comes from the broth. But hey if your hungover and squeeze a bunch of lime into it you won't notice. I guess I'm so used to the menudo being extremely well cleaned like my grandpa used to do it. I've tried their omelettes and those are good and big enough to share . As far as service, there's definitely room for improvement. This place is really good. Very value diner. Got a wet breakfast burrito and I could only eat half. I am a 6 ft tall 230 pd dude. Huge burrito. Delicious. They have alcohol and lunch specials. This place is a cool little diner on the side of the road in Corona. The place is small. The venue appears to not have been updated in a while but I was hoping the food was good. There was a large group of us, 4 adults and 6 kids. We really weren't greeted and we stood at the entrance for a few mins even though there was only 1 other group seated for a meal. When we were finally seated, we were given the menus and they took our drinks order. The food took quite a bit of time to come out after ordering and I was surprised about this because they werent busy. They have a good variety of food on their menu, both breakfast and lunch items. I ordered my favorite diner dish, steak and eggs. It was average. The kids enjoyed their pancakes. The others weren't very enthused about their food either. My family and I moved to the area around 3 years and since day one it was difficult to find good food in the area. However when we found El Cerrito Cafe it was over. I love the food, I normally go there on Sundays.One thing I do want to point out is the servers are too slow.Either they need to hire more people because there's been times we are waiting there and there's like 3 to four tables ready to be cleaned up. One time it took like 30 more minutes after we sat down to get our drinks and food.Like I said I love the food but these servers need to speed up the process or hire more people. First time trying out El Cerrito Cafe, and we will definitely be coming back. We drove past this hidden gem so many times and now realize we've totally been missing out! My husband got the chilaquiles and I got the country fried steak with a side of pancake. For the chilaquiles, the flavor of the salsa went so well with the perfectly cooked pork, eggs, veggies, and potatoes. For the country fried steak, I loved the seasoning of the batter, and the flavor of the gravy. The gravy had a unique kick to it that made me savor every last bite. I also ordered well done hash browns and they were cooked to perfection. The pancake was cooked just the way I like it too -- fluffy with a bit of crisp on the bottom. I was also impressed with our server. She was so friendly and hardworking. She was always quick to tend to everyone and anticipate what everyone needed. She was great at communicating with everyone and you could tell she enjoyed making sure everyone was well taken care of. Our water was always refilled and coffee flowing. As we reopen in the wake of this ongoing pandemic, I also appreciated that they had sanitizer and sanitizing wipes readily available, and that the staff were following health guidelines. I have no idea why this establishment has such a high rating besides the fact breakfast places are limited in this location. I had the worst biscuits and gravy of my life so far, watered down and taste of cheap butter. you could really taste how they use the same skillet for everything.
