We were born and raised in SOUTHEAST LA, where there are taquerias EVERYWHERE. I know a thing or two about authentic , Mexican, real good CARNE ASADA tacos. Food was good, the burrito sauces were tasty and flavored well. I could easily share this portion size with another person. The hostess handling patrons and customers was super sweet to work with and order from. She did an amazing job handling customers that came into the restaurant. The restaurant itself was quite packed, get there early to secure a seat or (see if you can) call ahead of time. The price for the burrito was more expensive than typical places which is why I'd rate it 4/5 stars, otherwise 5 star food!

As folks have seated themselves the waiters or waitresses serve the table in a well timed manner. Each table is served with a fresh basket of hot tortilla chips and salsa. The waiters takes orders for drinks; there is also a big clear open fridge where individuals can walk up choose a drink. The drinks consists of beer, wine, soda, coffee, water, juice and cocktails. The waitresses and waiters come by periodically to check on how the food is, refill drinks, and ask if the costumers are satisfied. The food served at Marquez is classic Mexican food; such as, Burritos, wet burritos, tacos, enchiladas, chili verde, and chili reno. Each plate serving is fairly large with a side of beans and rice, so plan to bring home leftovers after the meal. Also being served are children's plates with much smaller servings and different types of food, such as macaroni or a hamburger with fries. The presentation of the food is not all that fancy, but the food does look mighty delicious. The most decoration on a plate is some sauce drizzled around the plate, or cilantro placed around it as well. Not only does the food look delicious; the food taste unlike any other Mexican food restaurant. The burritos burst with flavor and sauce, as well as the tacos filled with meat, sauce onions ,tomatoes, cilantro and lime. So sad that since the previous ownership ran a tight ship, these new owners have a bunch of young airheads taking orders. You have to repeat your order at least twice. I have ordered to go twice and both times they get it wrong. This new ownership needs training. They obviously don't know how to run a business, let alone manage. They will learn the hard way when the economy changes and the results of bad customer service will be paid. There are better restaurants out there with exceptional service and they will realize that sooner or later. I own a business and know what it takes to keep ahead of my competition. These wetnose newbies have to learn that lesson read more

Came to celebrate husband Birthday today and daughter in law ordered a the wet burrito with al pastor the majority of the meat was burnt I mean burnt black they told us all we can do was change it not give refund so we got another one but this time out of carne asada this burrito did not come looking like a burrito it looked like a long piece of log . Burrito was not even wrapped. You can tell the cook was pissed at the fact the first one was send back . If you cans dish it in the kitchen you should get out.
