As half Argentine I can say the food is great. Try the fugazeta or the fried empanadas. It's all very tasty.

Wow, what a disappointment. I don't usually leave reviews much less reviews on the negative side but I have to express my disappointment at coming here. I've been coming here off and on for quite a while. I usually just get something quick and I'm out not a sit down meal, but tonight was different since Mothers Day is tomorrow and I wanted to treat my mother to a nice sit down meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got there around 6pm this evening and it wasn't full but it did get much busier as more people arrived.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It seemed like initially they had just enough people serving to do the job. In spite of that I had to actually get up about 3 or 4 times to ask for napkins, utensils, plates, refills for water and such. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I couldn't believe the table they sat us at wasn't set for service at all but just a plain bare table but so be it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I saw the menu I was astounded by some of the prices but everything these days has gone way up because of inflation. Just the same I was wowed. We ordered a cup of minestrone soup, a couple of empanadas, a small pizza and finally a plate of cannelloni. The soup was pretty good according to my mom and she's hard to please so I was happy she liked it. The empanadas were ok, nothing special especially as compared to the ones I've had here before. The pizza was good, again nothing special but tasty. The cannelloni, forget it. It was lousy. The sauce was...yucky, It tasted like something either frozen or from a can and reheated. Total disappointment. I could've done without it and at the price ($19/plate) it was totally not worth it. All in all I spent about $55 (not including tip) for not a lot of mediocre food at best and I was really disappointed, especially in the food and the service like I said before. I'll probably be back from time to time to see if things have improved but probably not for a while unless I'm in the mood for something from here. I'm sure many others would disagree with me but oh well, to each his own. read more

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Always a delight coming to El Morfi. They have THEE best authentic chimichurri sauce in town hands down. Today, my wife and I enjoyed a nice lunch here. My usual is the entraña which is my number one recommendation, but today I had the Chicken a la parilla and as always, not dissapointed. Juicy and delicious piece of chicken served with delicious vegetables and mashed potatoes. Wife had some Linguini and she gave it two thumbs up. Washed down with their incredible sangria and cabernet wine. What a treat. A must go to spot if you are in the area. Not only is the food amazing but the staff is extremely professional and friendly. Shocked that this place has a sign outside of their establishment that claims they have the "best empanadas in town". I ordered a chicken empanada & a cheese jalapeño empanada to go... They were hardly edible :(. I like this place because it has no frills. My friend and I ordered the cheese/onion pizza. My friend is from St Luis. She knows pizza. She said this was the best pizza she's had. I thought it was fabulous also. We shared a rib eye. She likes it medium. I like it rare. They cut it for us and cooked each separately. Calamari - delicious. We had tons of left overs too. They have the best empanadas!! SO TASTY and the size is perfect. Very filling. I prefer going there on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday after 3 PM when they discount the price down to $1.35 from the usual $1.50. I know it's not that much of a saving, but every little bit helps. They have several types of empanadas. Today I got the spicy beef, chicken, and spinach. I'm pretty sure I must have tried all their flavors! They provide a dipping sauce that goes great with the empanadas. I never feel it's enough, so I always buy the jar. It's about $5. Well worth it!! Plenty of parking in Glendale. Delicious!!! This place is walking distance from my work and I love chimmi churri sauce and empanadas, so going to El Morfi was a no brainer. I came here right when they opened so was greeted by a very sweet young lady. got seated by the window because I love people watching when I eat. The place was clean and spacious. I ordered the following: Rigatoni Bolognese with Iced tea lunch special ($10): Very good lunch portion. the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. I would definitely get this again. Spicy Beef Empanada ($2.50): I love that it was baked, I like both fried and baked. The empanada had lots of delicious filling, it was full of flavor and when you put the chimmi churri sauce on top, it is out of this world. I was looking for something different from the restaurants in my hometown when I came across this little gem. Not being real familiar with Argentine food, the waitress was extremely helpful. I chose the special, the Porterhouse steak with garlic roasted potatoes. The marinade, seasonings, and cooking were per perfect. It was unlike any steak I have eaten in the past. Very delicious. The linguini pescatore is my go-to takeout dish at El Morfi... It's perfectly cooked pasta in red sauce filled with clams, mussels, shrimp, squid & scallops. Very tasty... The seafood tastes great. Tastes fresh... as it should. It's cooked just right in my opinion. The portion is pretty big... It could easily feed two adults. Comes with fresh bread which they pack in a small brown paper bag for you. Runs around $17.... Not cheap but you do get your money's worth. There's plenty of seafood in that order along with loads of pasta. I almost always get takeout here.. Can't remember the last time I ate in the restaurant. Argentinian food is amazingly delicious! When I first walked in, I noticed right away the brick walls with the beautiful paintings hung up. It has a family and yet classy atmosphere. Bread was served with their version of olive oil (I forgot what it's called. Chimi something) and it was So good! The bread was warm & soft and the oil was super tasty! I haven't yet had the opportunity to sit down and eat here but I did have a chance to try their empanadas over the weekend. I was walking from having some lunch to pick up some goodies from Porto's. It was on the way to Porto's that I noticed their little carousel of empanadas just outside the restaurant. They were singing my name. I had to try one. I ended up buying a few after the first and second bite of the first one that I bought. It was so tasty. I think I was paying $2.75 each or so but they were pretty large and where chock full of meat. It was so good! I'm so glad that I stopped to try their empanadas. My Mom and I agree, their spinach empanada was so tasty! Hopefully I'll have a chance to dine in next time. I got the milanesa sandwich and I don't know if they ran out or what but I would suggest the owner to use a different kind of lettuce not butter lettuce . It is just not as authentic but the milanesa itself it's delicious , I would also recommend a more French Crispy bread. read more

Delicious! Went in for lunch and shared a sampling of food - the proveleta was so tasty (don't forget the chimichuri!), and the empanadas shouldn't be skipped. The spinach and cheese and corn were my favorites. My friend and I also shared the chicken and beef milanesas, I preferred the beef but both were good. There were limited options for a vegetarian but I chose the gnocchi with the rose sauce. I ended up tossing in some extra marinara. The pasta was creamy and satisfying but not unbelievably good. Everyone else in my group enjoyed their lunches which varied from salads to empanadas and more pasta.
